In addition, the original novel has fewer minor characters and simple relationships between them. Most of the minor characters in the novel, such as the stationmaster's wife, the stationmaster's three concubines, Cuiping's mother, the driver, the tax bureau director, the old woman, and several of Lao Ma's subordinates, are briefly mentioned, and the corresponding character relationships are also handled very simply, even somewhat arbitrarily. For example, when Yu Zecheng went to pick up Cuiping, he picked up Cuiping and Cuiping's mother, but after getting on the car, Cuiping's mother seemed to disappear out of thin air and never appeared again.

However, even so, the original novel provides a concise but complete framework of character relationships, which is highly extensible. Otherwise, it would not have been adapted into a 30-episode TV series. Yu Zecheng, as the core character, establishes a frequently conflicting fake husband-and-wife relationship with Cui Ping, and a hostile camp relationship with Lao Ma and the stationmaster. The specific characters and relationships are combined with the specific historical background, providing a broad space and sufficient motivation for the further development of the plot.

You should know that the reason why "The Hidden" has become a spy war classic is not only because of the wonderful performance of the protagonist, but also because the "green leaves" are also portrayed in a remarkable way, such as the shrewd Stationmaster Wu, the brave Ma Kui, the sinister and stingy Lu Qiaoshan, the ruthless Li Ya...
