Chapter 557: Winter in Bomya

Chapter 557: Winter in Bomya

Although the message has been sent to the entire empire, it does not mean that a large country can change its allegiance instantly.

Many people disliked Pavel. They believed that this young man from the Kroc family was using the republic to cover up his shame, and that he would surely restore the monarchy once the situation stabilized.

There were also loyal subordinates of old Grand Duke Crocker who woke up from their drunken stupor and opposed this traitor and the inexplicable "National Salvation Alliance".

They hastily assembled to protest clearly against Pavel's appalling act of rebellion, demanding that he immediately restore Grand Duke Krock's freedom and withdraw all orders and notices.

On the third day after the power was turned on, when the opponents had gathered and the wave of resistance was at its strongest, Bavaria's southern neighbor, the second country to join the "National Salvation League", began to act.

Taking advantage of the dead of night, a batch of propaganda posters suddenly appeared on the streets. The large, crooked posters showed Pavel's ugly face. He was covered in blood in the painting, and words such as "patricide", "murderer", and "conspirator to usurp the throne" were smeared on the red paint.

Although it was done by nobles who supported the empire and the Grand Duke, it was clear that they were also learning advanced techniques and how the Valois people mobilized the masses.

"They are talking nonsense! My uncle's family is fine now, they are just restricted in their activities for protection. Where is the security team?" Pavel didn't know why it turned out like this.

He firmly believed that he and the participants in the alliance were all upholding ideals and justice, but somehow, he suddenly found his hands covered in blood.

The devil who had instigated him all the way, the perverted, dirty former Valois nobleman, Rorschach's vicious dog Varan, walked into the "Acting Consul" office with a smile on his face: "The security team? They did not obey you.

"The enemy is ready to move, and your forces have been dispersed. To keep the fruits of victory, you have only one choice."

At four o'clock in the morning, "Acting Governor" Pavel Krok "actively and voluntarily" invited two new regiments from the Kingdom of Bavaria to enter the country for exercises in order to deter "threats from domestic and foreign resistance forces and cult groups."

At a quarter past four, the newly-appointed group of soldiers crossed the border between the two countries.

In the early morning, when it was still light outside, the first batch of airships arrived at Prague, the capital of Bomya, from Bavaria, blocking out the sun and waking up all the residents with their sharp whistles. These pot-bellied aircraft flew low over the city, like a school of whales swimming recklessly in the sea that belongs to them, and made a show of forceful calls.

Then the hatch opened, and teams of armed air knights jumped out from the whale's belly. They flew through the streets under the rapid propulsion of their mobile devices. As long as they found barricades or other strongholds or obstacles built by the rebels, they would immediately mark and report them, or simply pull the trigger/activate the scroll directly from the air.

Suddenly, gunshots rang out throughout Prague, and there were huge flames.

At 6:31, the construct troops arrived. They were fleshless beasts, and their iron-gray metal surfaces did not reflect the terrified faces of the people. Their slender but powerful four legs moved briskly, and no conventional obstacles could stop them.

Even fire and bombs could not stop these monsters. When one was successfully destroyed, only sticky liquid flowed out of these steel bodies. Without any driver inside, the machines could not wail or beg for mercy.

The knights of Bomya charged at these four-legged constructs on the main road of Prager, the widest Queen's Avenue. They opened fire first, and after a burst of chaotic ricochet sounds, the monsters were still moving forward, their guns aimed at these people of noble blood, emitting a dangerous and charming arcane glow.

These knights, loyal to the Empire and the Grand Duke, chose to hold high their swords and flags, and then fell without any glory.

At eight o'clock, everything in Prager was over. When people were told that they could go out into the streets and resume their normal lives, they found that every street and entrance was occupied by four-legged constructs, their observation windows reflecting the light of crystals, and the emission ports constantly rotating.

The soldiers who swore allegiance to Pavel did not change their uniforms, except for a piece of blue cloth wrapped around their arms. The flagpoles everywhere were all replaced with the flags of the "National Salvation League". Airships and air knights often flew above the flags, streaking across the sky and casting shadows that were difficult to ignore.

The "surgical operation" successfully removed the City Hall filled with old nobles and the three guard battalions responsible for city defense, helping the usurper Pavel Krok to gain a firm foothold and establish a temporary governor's office, which will maintain the current status quo until the end of the war and the start of a new round of elections.

The northern neighbor was like being in a stormy sea, and the sudden change shocked its citizens and the entire empire. In contrast, the source of everything, the Baint District, was exceptionally calm, with heavy snow falling like goose feathers, absorbing the noise between heaven and earth, bringing down coldness and tranquility.

Those who should leave have left, and those who should stay are focusing on the project of Sword Pointing to the Sky. Rorschach wanted to give the second starship a domineering name, but he held back and currently used a numerical code to refer to the entire project.

Andre walked into the workshop and saw Rorschach leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed. He thought Rorschach's spirit had risen to the borderland again, but he didn't expect Rorschach's eyelashes to twitch and then he opened his eyes.

Andre was slightly surprised but soon calmed down and put the documents he brought on the table in the studio: "Teacher, this is the report I collected about Bomya, and the new report on 'Faust' submitted by Mr. Warren. Do you want to see it?"

Pavel was given a strange code name by Rorschach. In this world, Faust is the ancient wizard who invented the [reversal ray]. Only Rorschach himself knows the true meaning of the code name.

"No need. What is the Empire's response?"

"Well, it's just a verbal reprimand at the moment. There's no military mobilization, and their remaining troops are still on guard against the Valois. Oh, and by the way, the Imperial Capital has announced the detention of King Byrne and his entourage."

Thank you very much. Rorschach finally asked, "What did Caroline say?"

Andre looked embarrassed, as if he was choosing his words: "The principal..." Finally, Andre gave up any embellishment and directly relayed: "She said that Valan is an ambitious man and a lunatic. You should put him in prison or exile him to the gaseous plane."

Andre paused for a moment, recalling Caroline's curse in its entirety: "That guy should play house with the little blue man."

Rorschach actually laughed out loud: "Yes, he is. But everything he did was under my instruction. The goal of Operation Valan was set by me, and the forces he could mobilize were created and approved by me."

"Teacher, you are not..." To Andre, this was simply Rorschach admitting that he was the lunatic.

"But I want to praise Valan for doing a good job, because we don't have much time left." Rorschach's face looked unhappy. As the threat of the Mother Goddess became more and more prominent, things that could be done slowly in the past must be accelerated.

When the car is going fast, someone will always be caught under the wheels. In the past, you might have been able to change lanes or slow down and step on the brakes, but now the accelerator is frozen.

Rorschach hesitated for a moment, but decided to play the villain to the end: "Let all minors in Prager take a test for their magic talent."
