I'm trapped in a block
Chapter 1190 Forgetting
Chapter 1190 Forgetting
Are you feeling lost about your current situation?
Upon seeing the question on the electronic screen, Mo Ling immediately wanted to give an affirmative answer:
"I'm so confused!"
All memories from entering the abyss have vanished, and now I'm trapped in this strange place; it's hard not to feel lost.
Right now, all he can do is hope that the researchers outside can provide him with an answer.
The electronic screen quickly lit up with a green light, and the middle-aged man at the head nodded and handed the screen to his assistant.
"I'll answer your question shortly... but it's a long story, and this place isn't convenient. Would you please come with us to the conference room?"
Upon hearing the middle-aged man's question, Mo Ling nodded subconsciously, but he quickly froze.
How can I follow?
We're all trapped inside this cube, how do we follow it?
……
And so, the middle-aged man stared at the cube, anticipating its reaction, while Mo Ling sat blankly on the bed, frozen in place for a long time.
Finally, the middle-aged man's expression changed, as if he had suddenly thought of something. He quickly snatched the electronic screen back and fiddled with it for a few moments.
"Have you forgotten how the cube moves?"
The electronic screen lit up with a green light.
Do you also know the function of a cube?
The electronic screen lit up with a red light...
After asking several questions, the middle-aged man suddenly realized something: "So that's how it is. I should have thought of that sooner... If you forget everything that happened in the abyss, of course you won't remember how to use the relics."
"I'm sorry." The middle-aged man bowed deeply to the cube. "My assessment of your condition was incorrect."
After bowing, he turned to his entourage and instructed them: "Have a transport vehicle come and move the cube to the conference room."
"Understood." The accompanying staff member nodded and began operating the electronic screen in their hand.
Soon, a small, automated cart arrived at the showroom. Without anyone needing to operate it, it flashed a warning yellow light and announced, "Please note, reversing." It approached the cube and then extended several robotic arms to steadily grab the cube from the display stand and load it onto the cart.
Immediately afterwards, the cart turned on its lights again, continued broadcasting announcements, and drove out of the exhibition hall, followed by a long line of researchers in white coats.
Mo Ling watched this scene with great curiosity. He had just felt the entire metal space being "grabbed" and then "placed" somewhere. The physical changes in the outside world could really be reflected inside the cube.
But the cube looks very light; the large space inside doesn't seem to be reflected in its weight at all.
"What exactly is this place? Is it a separate alternate dimension? Or is it some kind of volume compression technology?"
Mo Ling was somewhat dazed. He only hoped that once they arrived at the conference room, the researchers could answer all his questions. The car drove through the corridor, and Mo Ling's vision swept through the surrounding rooms. The building seemed to be a research institute, with most of the rooms filled with all sorts of experimental equipment. Mo Ling couldn't understand the function of the equipment, but he felt it was very high-tech.
Each room door had a combination lock, indicating a high level of security. In addition, Mo Ling also noticed that the walls were very thick, and some rooms even had solid steel plates inside the walls. There were surveillance cameras and alarms everywhere in the corridors.
"What the hell is this place?"
Previously, the researchers' friendly attitude had prevented Mo Ling from noticing these details, but now that he had left the exhibition hall, he realized that this place was not so simple.
Looking up and down the building, they all had the same architectural structure. Mo Ling even saw fully armed security personnel in some places. They seemed to have received orders and were approaching the floor where the cube was located.
Before long, the researchers following behind were separated by teams of security personnel. Only a few who seemed to have higher authority were allowed to follow behind the car, and their expressions changed from excitement to seriousness.
The machine was unaffected by the serious atmosphere of humans. The car drove slowly, passing through the corridor, entering the elevator, and proceeding methodically towards the conference room.
The corridor gradually filled with people, including researchers peeking out from inside rooms and security guards in full gear. The small car containing the cube was like a general returning from the battlefield, passing through the city gate, its hooves clattering across the city road, with crowds of onlookers on both sides, their faces filled with curiosity, being pushed aside by soldiers blocking their way...
The car's flashing yellow lights illuminated everyone's faces, making the atmosphere unusually tense. Faced with increasing security personnel and an increasingly narrow passageway, even Mo Ling felt somewhat apprehensive.
"What's wrong? Is it necessary to be so serious?"
The middle-aged man following closely behind the car had sweaty palms and beads of sweat on his forehead. He kept discussing something with his assistant, who also looked nervous.
Finally, the car arrived at a large gate.
A row of soldiers stood on either side of the gate. They were real soldiers, not ordinary security guards. When the car slowly drove up to the gate, the gate opened by itself, as if someone had opened it from the inside.
Blinding white light shone from the conference room, making the yellow light emitted by the car appear extremely dim. But the machine paid no attention to these things; it drove straight in and continued along the prescribed route.
A platform had been set up in the conference room sometime earlier. The small car placed the cube steadily on the platform and drove away.
The conference room wasn't large, but it was brightly lit. A heavy conference table was placed in the center, and several middle-aged men in formal attire were already seated in front of it. Upon seeing the cube, they all stood up.
After the cart placed the cube on the platform, they gathered around it, their faces showing barely suppressed excitement. However, they quickly calmed down, and one of them walked up to the researchers who had been following behind and shook hands with each of them.
"Director Wang, you've worked hard."
"Director Lin, you are the same."
"..."
The researchers shook hands and nodded awkwardly, seemingly unaccustomed to such a scene.
Fortunately, the polite atmosphere didn't last long.
"Director Wang, you are here to chair the meeting. We are only here to supervise. Let's not make things too complicated. We should encourage the Abyss to become a regular part of life. We should fully praise, publicize and reward the heroes who return from the Abyss, but we should not over-deify them. Let's keep a normal mindset and be realistic."
"Look, if you're ready, we can begin. Let's all sit down and not be too nervous."
