Chapter 1057 A Corpse Arrives at the Door

Stared at by this terrifying evil spirit, Randolph felt an irresistible urge to turn and run away.

There was no way around it; his childhood trauma was just too severe.

He once believed he had a happy and wonderful family environment, a harmonious family, and a family far superior to those of his peers. Yet, he had no worries.

The only drawback is that family members often die young, but this is an unavoidable accident.

Until one day, when he finally overcame the invisible attraction of the basement and the family cemetery, and suddenly realized that everything originated from evil and that they were nothing more than sacrifices, his beliefs collapsed.

No matter how comfortable one's living conditions are, no one can accept being merely a domesticated animal.

“From today onwards, I am the head of the Morrick family. What do you think?” Wu Heng asked Randolph.

“No problem, I absolutely support it, I wholeheartedly support it.” Randolph nodded immediately and without hesitation, as if pounding garlic.

Just kidding, who would dare to object in the current situation?

I'm afraid that if that terrifying evil spirit touches me, I'll be turned into a pulp.

No one would think that the metallic tentacles, as thick as an adult's thigh and resembling countless iron chains, were just for show.

"I will communicate with my family and those people about this matter, and I guarantee that no one will dare to object."

“I support it too.” Hannah’s spirit form beside her nodded softly.

In her view, at least the family would be able to develop healthily in the future, and at least no one would have to sacrifice for it. During the many years she was sealed in the lead box, she saw too many of her family members die in agony.

But they were unable to do anything.

Even she herself was deeply mired in pain.

So many years of suffering have taught her a lesson: power is what maintains balance. In this world full of demons and monsters, it is undoubtedly a good thing that the Morrick family has such great power.

The only concern, however, is whether this clearly evil force will be targeted by some churches.

However, this is no longer something she should be thinking about; she can give Wu Heng some reminders later.

Wu Heng nodded, and the puppet evil spirit behind him melted into his feet like asphalt, becoming his shadow.

The shadow that was lost under the light reappeared.

Wu Heng walked to the altar ruins, bent down and picked up the demon hunter's diary left by Vidal, which was full of the marks of time.

My fingertips brushed against the rough leather cover, which was made of animal skin. After losing its power, it had lost its incorruptible properties and emitted a faint stench.

The dark red stains on it seemed to carry the bloodshed and madness of bygone years.

He casually flipped to a page, his gaze sweeping over the cold words that recorded the cutting off of humanity and the sacrifice of loved ones.

“A pathetic struggle.” He closed the diary and tossed it to the floating spirit of Hannah behind him. “Keep it. This is the last testament to the Morrick family’s ‘glory.’ From today onward, it belongs to you.”

Hannah instinctively caught the heavy diary; the cold touch sent a shiver down her spine.

She looked at Wu Heng's calm and composed profile, then looked down at the book in her hand, which was soaked in sin and despair, and was momentarily at a loss.

She was unaware at that moment that her soul was already able to make contact with physical objects.

Two hundred years of suffering will naturally bring its rewards.

Hannah's soul already met the criteria for a painful nun. After Wu Heng cleansed the impurities from her soul, she was practically a half-painful nun.

It's roughly equivalent to the level of a high-level sorcerer.

However, she hadn't yet developed her own power and would need to gradually discover it in the future. Wu Heng ignored her and walked towards the door.

The night outside was as dark as ink.

From a distance of about a mile along the highway, the sound of an engine shutting off suddenly came from afar, followed by heavy, stiff footsteps, as if the joints were rusted.

"They even knew to stop at the entrance of the manor; that's quite a rare courtesy," Wu Heng said softly, looking in the direction from which the footsteps were coming.

"what?"

Randolph, who was following along like a lackey, turned around in confusion when he heard Wu Heng's words. He didn't know what Wu Heng was talking about or what he meant.
He carefully observed Wu Heng's expression.

My heart skipped a beat. I wondered if the new family head had something wrong with his head.
"Stop having those disrespectful thoughts." Wu Heng glanced at him.

Randolph shrank back immediately, quickly clearing his mind.

so horrible.

This young man seems to know everything, as if he can see right through my thoughts.

After waiting for three minutes.

Vidal's body stepped across the pebbly path and finally reached the entrance to the manor.

"This is?"

Randolph looked at the suddenly appearing corpse, instinctively pulled out his pistol, and once again reached into his crotch.

“Our ancestors split themselves into three parts, but only two parts appeared in the basement, and of course, one part of the body still exists.”

"It seems to have found its way home."

The two people and one soul looked at the corpse at the door.

Its rotting face, with cataract-like pupils staring intently at the direction of the villa's gate, and a stiff smile on its lips.

It could sense that the perfect vessel was inside, and... the power it had been waiting for for a hundred years!

"Mine... all mine...!" A hoarse, indistinct voice was forced out from the leaky air in the chest cavity, mixed with the stench of a corpse.

The stench attracted a swarm of flies, but they all died within a meter of the swarm.

The corpse raised its hand, covered in rotting flesh and dirt, and pointed it towards the villa's gate.

A corrupting, filthy power began to coalesce, filling the air with the stench of the tomb and the scorching heat of sulfur.

It will tear apart this last obstacle and take back everything that belongs to it!
However, just as this force was about to erupt, the heavy door of the villa silently slid open inward.

The room inside was not a brightly lit hall, but a dense, impenetrable darkness that seemed to devour all light.

A massive silhouette, almost filling the entire doorway, stood silently in the darkness.

It made no sound, but the cold, deathly silence, and oppressive feeling, like the gaze of the abyss itself, caused the power gathered in Vidal's corpse to falter.

What is this?
How could such a thing exist within a family, and it seems to contain elements of it?

Vidal's unfocused white pupils seemed to contract slightly, and his decaying jaw opened and closed, emitting unintelligible hoarse sounds.

It could sense that the things inside the door emanated a chilling aura that it both utterly loathed and inexplicably felt familiar with. (End of Chapter)
