Chapter 1064 The Grim Reaper Behind the Priest

Just as the pastor spoke of "something that concerns many people" and "a grand trajectory of destiny," Wu Heng's gaze pierced through the pastor's skull, reaching the depths of his consciousness.

Just now, that holy power surged forth once more, like a precise navigation system, "injecting" these words into the pastor's devout faith.

This power is incompatible with the Death God's power controlled by Su An, yet it truly exists!
The Winchester brothers were indeed constantly being watched by things both above and below.

They were born with a mission.

Or perhaps it was used as a chess piece.

Le Granger was completely unaware of this; he was even more convinced that he had heard a divine oracle, and his expression became increasingly solemn as he gestured for Dean to relax and stand still.

Su An stood to the side and slightly behind the pastor, his brows furrowing almost imperceptibly.

She looked at Dean, a hint of doubt and assessment flashing deep in her eyes. This person, who had been suddenly chosen by her husband because of 'divine revelation', did seem physically weak, but something seemed... off.
She instinctively felt a slight unease about the choice of people who were beyond her plans and control.

However, the pastor had already proclaimed the "oracle".

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, she could not object; she had to maintain her husband's faith and influence.

So she could only secretly activate her connection with the imprisoned Grim Reaper to prepare for another life transfer ritual.

Who should be chosen as the offering this time?

Su An had already identified her target. She selected a recently observed morally deficient individual from the newspaper. The person was an athlete who had molested a woman but escaped legal trial due to insufficient evidence.

And she, who considered herself the one in control of life, naturally wanted to impose additional punishments on him.

They should be punished as they deserve.

Reverend Le Granger took a deep breath, his blind eyes seemingly able to pierce Dean's soul. He slowly raised his hands, as he had done the night before when treating old woman Susan, and reached them out to Dean with utmost devotion.

Dean looked at the hand that was about to touch him, feeling the focus of hundreds of eyes in the room, and his heart was filled with mixed feelings.

He caught a glimpse of Leila's mother's eyes dimming instantly, filled with endless disappointment and pain, and of Leila's small face, which tried to remain calm but couldn't hide her dejection.

A strong impulse made him almost want to turn around and leave the stage, giving the opportunity to the girl.

Whether it's true or not, this mother and daughter seem genuinely eager to try it.

But Sam's anxious and expectant eyes, and the pastor's words about great responsibilities and the trajectory of fate, seemed to bind his steps like invisible ropes.

He could only stand there stiffly, waiting for the so-called "miracle" to happen, his heart filled with a sense of absurdity about his situation.

While he was still having doubts, the priest suddenly placed a hand on Dean's head.

Dean instantly convulsed, his eyes rolled back, and he knelt on the ground.

Finally, he completely fainted.

Sam rushed onto the stage to help Dean up. Just then, Dean opened his eyes, stood up, and instantly felt a sense of relief.

This feeling was different from the sense of imprisonment she experienced when she was enveloped by Wu Heng's puppet evil spirit power.

This is a feeling of true freedom, a renewed sense of vitality.

He was actually cured.

The moment Dean opened his eyes, he saw an old man with gray skin, wearing a black suit, standing next to the priest's body. The old man glanced at him, then turned and disappeared into the air.

Although it was only for that one moment.

But the chilling feeling of encountering evil made Dean absolutely certain that he had seen an evil spirit in the priest, and that the evil spirit was involved in the entire ritual. Back at the hotel...

Dean then told Wu Heng and Sam how he felt at the time.

He believed the ceremony was problematic.

"Dean, don't overthink it. The priest healed you. We really should believe in miracles; it really happened." Sam was somewhat speechless.

"Believe me, I definitely saw it," Dean said confidently.

He also said he would investigate the pastor to see what was going on.

They soon discovered the whole story: while Dean was receiving treatment, the athlete died at the same time from a sudden heart attack.

Furthermore, the clock in the room where the athlete died is forever frozen at 16:15.

Since the athlete died from illness, which has been confirmed by the forensic doctor, it did not cause too much panic, as people die from illness all the time.

It's nothing to be alarmed about; it's a physical issue and not a criminal case.

However, through that number, Sam had confirmed that the athlete's death was definitely related to Dean, and he told Dean and Wu Heng the news.

Dean found it very difficult to accept the news.

He was unwilling to use the method of taking someone else's life to extend his own; for him, this was an unacceptable thing.

Inside the room, Dean looked distressed: "I told you so, this priest seemed off. I really shouldn't have tried it!"

Sam, who was standing nearby, also felt a little sad.

He was so desperate to save his older brother that he completely ignored all other factors.

“Perhaps you should take a look at this.” Wu Heng placed the newspaper on the table. “This might make you feel a little better.”

The Winchester brothers looked at the newspaper and saw a news article about athletes who had committed crimes but had not been punished.

"I still can't accept that my life is prolonged in this way. His illegal acts should be judged by the law, not by these self-righteous punishers." After reading it, Dean felt a little better, but he still found it hard to accept.

"The Punisher?"

"Aren't you Punishers too?" Wu Heng asked the two of them, puzzled.

He genuinely couldn't understand their way of thinking.

Or, in his view, these two people's thinking was too limited. It's like a normal person seeing that in some parts of Africa, women are required to cover their entire bodies, otherwise they are breaking the law; in other parts, lips must be pierced; and in some places, modern tools are not allowed and the internet is prohibited.

These are all part of the law.

If these women who go out in public, who don't want lip piercings, and who really just want to play a game online, were located in the United States, this would be a perfectly normal thing.

"If you were to judge these people, do you think they should be punished?"

"You should already know the answer in your hearts."

"Trials and laws are relative, not absolute. Just like in the United States, marijuana is legal in some states and illegal in others."

"What I mean is that you should have your own standards, instead of blindly following them."

"If you make judgments like this, how are you any different from those self-proclaimed judges?" (End of Chapter)
