Chapter 1087 Treatment
They had been gathered here, licking each other's wounds, but when they saw Dean and John appear, they immediately rushed over while cursing.
They didn't care about Wu Heng at all, who seemed like an ordinary person.
These bloodthirsty fools didn't even have time to react or brake before a gaunt old man in a sharp butler's uniform appeared among them like a ghost.
The Grim Reaper didn't even make a big move; he simply opened his arms slightly, and an invisible, absolute 'annihilation' domain instantly spread out from him.
The vampires within range froze simultaneously, the blood red in their eyes quickly fading. Their bodies, like withered trees drained of all moisture and life force, collapsed straight down, becoming extremely weak, like dehydrated chicks.
Only two slightly stronger vampires standing on the edge seemed to put up a momentary resistance, but they were also choked by an invisible force and easily subdued like chicks, collapsing to the ground, losing all ability to resist.
The whole process was faster than anyone could have imagined, completely silent, and without even damaging a single item in the warehouse.
John and Dean watched this scene with a chill running down their spines. This kind of attack, if it were directed at them, would be far more terrifying than any evil spirit or demon, especially since even demons have limitations in reality.
Perhaps due to the indigenous people's beliefs, the Death Butler's power became more active and less restricted. If he was still unaware before, then under Wu Heng's control, his absolute threat level would more than double.
This is a terrifying old man.
"Is that all?" John looked at the ten vampires lying limp on the ground, his expression filled with shock. This was the first time he had seen Wu Heng's men take action. The time Wu Heng saved him, he was unconscious.
Our understanding of Wu Heng is actually limited to what Dean and Sam have told us.
Desperate to save his son, he hurriedly asked, "Is this enough, Mr. Morrick?"
Wu Heng shook his head slightly: "Although my 'steward' has broken through some of the restrictions of the ancient contract and is no longer limited to using the pure lives of ordinary people as sacrifices, the life energy of these dark creatures is mixed and has a high rate of loss. This number is still not enough. The ritual process cannot be interrupted, so it is better to be safe."
The Grim Reaper pointed in another direction once again.
They repeated the same tactic, quickly heading to the next vampire gathering point, an underground bar, where they again swiftly cleared out the vampires and captured five more prisoners.
Then, the Grim Reaper pointed towards the highway on the edge of the city.
They gave chase and intercepted a fleeing car containing three vampires trying to escape the city. After a brief exchange, Dean and John unleashed a torrent of beatings, eventually subduing the three men.
Finally, the Grim Reaper's senses locked onto two lone vampires searching for 'dinner' in a secluded alley, and he easily captured them.
In less than two hours, twenty vampires who had once been arrogant and domineering, and who had almost wiped out the Winchester brothers with firearms, were bound tightly with ropes soaked in the blood of the dead, like bundles of firewood. Their mouths were stuffed with wood that was also stained with the blood of the dead, and then wrapped with duct tape to make sure they couldn't make a sound.
These guys were then dumped into the trunk of the pickup truck that John had hastily acquired at great expense and covered with a tarpaulin. Looking at the prisoners, John breathed a slight sigh of relief, but still asked anxiously, "Mr. Wu, is that enough? Twenty should be enough to save Sam, right?"
Wu Heng checked the condition of the vampires, pondered for a moment, and said, "Twenty is enough. After all, we need to save two people, so the consumption will be greater."
"Two people?" John was stunned, not reacting for a moment. He looked at Wu Heng in confusion, then at Dean.
Dean sighed, knowing he couldn't hide it any longer.
In front of his father, he lifted up his shirt, which he had already changed, revealing seven or eight shocking penetrating wounds, especially the terrifying hole in his chest, the size of an egg, that could almost let in light!
“Father,” Dean’s voice was tinged with bitterness and helplessness. “Actually, my injuries are much more serious than Sam’s!”
"The crossfire from a dozen or so people is not something that can be easily dodged."
Dean sighed and continued, "If I hadn't drunk Lor's 'Ember' red wine, which could keep me alive, when I had heart problems before, I would be dead by now and wouldn't have made it this far."
He even gently poked the edge of the hole in his chest with his finger. There was no blood flowing from it; only a faint, almost transparent layer of energy was maintaining the stability of the wound and preventing it from collapsing completely.
"You even destroyed most of your heart. Ha! And what happened to your heart in the first place?!"
John was struck dumb upon hearing these words. He took a step back, his eyes fixed on the terrible wound on Dean's chest, his face turning as white as paper.
His attention had been entirely focused on Sam, and he hadn't bothered to check Dean's condition. He only knew that Dean was also injured, but he never imagined that it was a fatal wound that could kill anyone ten times over!
Furthermore, Dean mentioned having a heart problem before, so the 'Ember' that allowed him to survive such an injury must be extremely precious. And Dean must have suffered a fatal injury after drinking it.
What exactly did these two children encounter along the way?
An indescribable sense of fear and immense guilt swept over John like a tsunami. He had always thought Dean was strong, indomitable, and already a resilient man.
But they overlooked the fact that he was just a flesh-and-blood being who could be injured and die, and that he was also a child, and his father knew nothing about this, and even...
"Why, why didn't you tell me?!" John's voice trembled violently, filled with self-blame and pain.
He remembered that he had previously only thought about saving Sam, and even considered giving his own life for him.
Dean put down his clothes and forced an ugly smile: "What's the use of telling you? Will it make you more worried? Besides, this is the path I chose myself. If I get hurt, I have to bear it myself."
These words were completely different from when he had criticized his father in the hospital, yet they were even more heartbreaking for John.
John looked at his son's forced composure, at the almost fatal wounds on his body, and then at his son's unconditional obedience and following throughout his life. A huge wave of sorrow overwhelmed his defenses.
This man, who was usually tough and not good at expressing himself, suddenly had tears in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Dean.” John’s voice choked with emotion. He reached out, seemingly wanting to touch his son’s wound, yet he hesitated. (End of Chapter)
