Chapter 1090 Only one can survive
These symptoms are exactly the same as when Sam had his premonitions before!
But how is this possible.
Unlike Sam, Dean wasn't chosen by the Yellow-Eyed Demon as an infant and fed demon blood, so theoretically he shouldn't have this "receiving" ability.
The excruciating pain churned at Dean's brain like steel needles, and fragmented, chaotic images forced their way into his consciousness:
“Sam, it’s Sam! He’s lying on a cold concrete floor, seemingly unconscious, slowly opening his eyes.”
"A dilapidated, filthy abandoned room, with walls covered in bizarre graffiti."
"In the distance outside the window, there was the silhouette of a huge, now-defunct Ferris wheel."
"It wasn't just Sam; there were several other young people in the room, some sitting, some standing, all with expressions of confusion and fear. One of the girls had a faint flame flickering at her fingertips, and another thin boy was using his mind to levitate an empty tin can in mid-air."
The scene stopped abruptly.
Dean jolted free from the excruciating pain, his body drenched in cold sweat. He gasped for breath, his eyes filled with shock and confusion: "I saw... Sam, and some other people with strange abilities in a place with a Ferris wheel."
He tried hard to recall the details of his hallucination: "An abandoned house. A Ferris wheel covered in graffiti."
He hurriedly opened his laptop and quickly searched for nearby locations that matched the description of an 'abandoned Ferris wheel'.
"Found it! It's 'Crescent Town,' where there's a 'Lowe Amusement Park' that's been abandoned for over a decade. The Ferris wheel is its landmark!"
Dean jumped up and grabbed his car keys: "Sam must be there, he's in danger!"
This must be the signal he's trying to convey to me.
Meanwhile, Sam on the other side also encountered difficulties at this time.
The reason he didn't tell Dean and Wu Heng when he received the message was that he decided to go alone.
The message came from an encrypted number; it was simple yet to the point: "If you want to see John Winchester, come with me. I'm waiting for you across the street. If you tell anyone else, or bring anyone with you, you will never see John Winchester."
For his father's safety, Sam knew it might be a trap, but he had no choice but to go to the meeting alone.
Following the instructions, he crossed the street and followed the woman who was clearly possessed by a demon. However, after the car had driven a short distance, a hallucinogenic gas suddenly sprayed out of the car.
Then everything went black and he lost consciousness completely.
After an unknown amount of time, Sam awoke with a severe headache and found himself lying on a cold concrete floor in what appeared to be an abandoned place.
The surroundings were dimly lit, and the air was filled with dust and a musty smell. He struggled to sit up, walked out of his bedroom, looked around, and his heart sank.
He wasn't alone in the room; there were seven or eight other young people, all around his age, both men and women. They had all just woken up from their coma, their faces filled with bewilderment, confusion, and fear.
"Where is this?"
Who brought me here?
"who are you?"
People frantically asked each other questions, but received no answers. Just then, a hot-tempered blond man seemed to want to force his way out. He kicked and pounded on the heavy iron door, but found it wouldn't budge.
In a moment of desperation, he waved his hand, and an invisible shockwave emanated from his hand, smashing a discarded iron barrel in the distance to its flattening!
Everyone was stunned by this scene.
Immediately afterwards, as if a switch had been flipped, the others also began to reveal their unusual abilities: a quiet Black girl conjured frost out of thin air in her hand; a thin boy wearing glasses narrowed his eyes, and several screws on the ground in the distance floated up.
A ring of scorching flames instantly rose around the body of a red-haired girl.
These people all possess all sorts of superpowers!
After the initial shock and chaos, the survivors began to try to communicate, exchange information, and try to figure out why they were trapped there.
As they began to recount their origins and commonalities, a chilling truth gradually surfaced:
As infants, they all witnessed their mothers being sucked to the ceiling by a mysterious and terrifying force, their abdomens being ripped open by invisible blades, and their bodies being burned to death by eerie flames.
All of them had seen a man with yellow eyes at some point in their childhood.
All of them suffered from exclusion and pain in life because of their tragic experiences and their "differences"!
Even more astonishingly, when they roughly drew the locations of their respective cities or towns on the ground, these locations vaguely formed the nodes of an extremely large and ancient array centered on their current city.
And the core of this array seems to point to somewhere deep inside this abandoned amusement park.
"This is a demon-sealing array?" Sam recognized it after observing it. "An array used to seal demons; pure-blooded demons cannot enter its core area."
Before Sam could finish speaking, a sudden voice rang out in the empty factory:
“Well said, my dear children.”
The lights suddenly blazed on, illuminating the center of the factory as if it were daytime. A middle-aged man in a black trench coat, with meticulously combed hair and a gentle smile on his face, appeared there at some point. But his eyes were pure yellow vertical pupils, like those of a venomous snake.
Yellow-eyed demon!
"Welcome to the selection site, my warriors." The yellow-eyed demon opened his arms like a warm-hearted mentor. "As you have discovered, you are all seeds I have carefully selected. You possess extraordinary potential and are the backbone of my future legion!"
Its words are seductive, yet also carry a chilling cruelty.
“But unfortunately,” he shrugged, feigning regret, “there can only be one leader, and I only need the strongest, most cunning, and most ruthless one among you!”
"Only he is qualified to follow me into the core of that seal, open the gates of hell, and lead my demon army to descend upon this world, thus setting the stage for the upcoming war of the apocalypse."
Its yellow, vertical pupils swept over each pale-faced young man, a bloodthirsty smile curving its lips:
"So, I brought you here for a very simple reason."
"It's just a small 'selection competition'."
"The rules are simpler: no restrictions on means or methods, until only one person is left alive, and only one person can leave this draft."
"Now, the game begins." (End of Chapter)
