Chapter 1112 Special Treatment
"What's going on here?" Dean asked, holding the wet newspaper, looking completely bewildered.
"Aren't you two supposed to be 'newspaper detectives,' best at finding clues about monsters in these boring news articles?"
Wu Heng gestured with his chin towards the stack of newspapers, "Look for any recent news about fresh, fleshy... well, monsters with 'vigorous' vitality."
"Huh?" Sam didn't understand either.
"I'll extract some 'nutrient solution' for you to heal your wounds," Wu Heng said matter-of-factly. "Or do you intend to stay on my ship in these tattered clothes as decorations?"
The two then realized what was happening and, remembering Wu Heng's methods as the Grim Reaper's butler, could only obediently flip through the wet newspapers and carefully search for them in the dim light of the ghost ship.
Whether it was good luck or because Colorado had been particularly turbulent lately, as Sam flipped through the third local tabloid, his finger stopped on an inconspicuous text message:
[A foul stench permeates the air! Several homeless people have mysteriously disappeared near an abandoned pickled food factory in the north of the city. Police suspect a gang connection and have found strange paw prints at the scene!]
"North of the city. Abandoned pickled food factory. Strange claw marks and multiple missing persons cases." Sam looked up at Wu Heng and Dean.
"Doesn't sound like anything good." Dean grinned. "Is this it?"
Wu Heng glanced at the newspaper but didn't say anything.
The ghost ship beneath my feet emitted a low hum, its hull began to blur, and the surrounding torrential rain scene twisted and spun like a faded oil painting.
The ship underwent two jumps.
When the ship froze for the third time, it was already hovering above a huge abandoned industrial plant.
The air was filled with a nauseating stench—the stench of rotting meat, the sour smell of some chemical reagent, and an indescribable mixture of over-fermented cheese and smelly socks, so strong it was almost tangible, and even the torrential rain couldn't completely suppress it.
Dean almost vomited. "What kind of hellhole is this?!"
Ignoring physical barriers, the ghost ship, under the cover of the torrential rain, directly penetrated the rusted factory roof and 'sailed' into the vast interior space.
Wu Heng poured out a bottle of powder, which, as it was washed away by the rain, actually spread a black, twisted trail in the puddles on the ground.
The ghost ship followed the trail and entered the underground vault.
The sight before them made even the well-traveled Winchester brothers feel nauseous.
Inside the warehouse, countless corpses, human and animal, were hung upside down from the beams with iron hooks, like dead pigs in a slaughterhouse.
Many of the corpses had bellies swollen like balloons, and their skin had an unnatural bluish-black color. Clearly, the internal organs had not been removed from their abdomens, which were fermenting violently and producing gas.
Some of the corpses were stuffed into huge earthenware jars originally used for pickling vegetables, with only their swollen, radish-like arms showing.
The ground was covered in sewage, oil, and unidentifiable rotting organic matter, with various slaughtering tools and gnawed bones scattered around.
The monsters that occupied this place also revealed their true forms. They were ugly humanoid creatures about half a person's height, with skin like a toad covered in slime and bumps, on all fours, with sharp claws and a huge mouth covered with fine, sharp teeth.
Their eyes have degenerated into two white dots, and they seem to rely primarily on their sense of smell and hearing to move.
“It’s a ‘Rotting Lizard Dwarf’!” Sam said in a low voice, suppressing his nausea. “A monster that rides a Komodo dragon and likes to devour highly rotten corpses. They usually only eat those that die of natural causes, so why would they kill someone on purpose?”
“Clearly, modern cremation is making them obsolete.” Dean gagged, pulling out his pistol. “So they’ve started making their own food. What a bunch of gourmets!”
Their intrusion instantly enraged the little creatures who were 'preparing their meal'. They let out a hiss like fingernails scratching glass, and surged in from all directions like a tidal wave, climbing along the walls, pipes, and even leaping directly at the ghost ship in the air.
Wu Heng's eyes were indifferent: "Trash that wastes time."
He didn't even move, not even a thought crossed his mind.
Dozens of thin, long tentacles formed from rainwater shot out instantly from the gaps in the ghost ship's deck beneath their feet.
These tentacles moved with lightning speed and precision, piercing the core of each 'Rotting Lizard Dwarf' that pounced on them in an instant!
Puff puff puff puff——!
A series of soft cracking sounds rang out. Before the monsters could even scream, their bodies shrank rapidly as if drained of all their energy, and their viscous, dark green blood was absorbed by the tentacles before it could even splatter.
In just a few breaths, all the monsters in the entire factory were wiped out, leaving only a ground covered in sticky, wet skin.
"That's it?" Dean was dumbfounded. This efficiency was far superior to their desperate struggle with salt bombs and machetes.
"It's just experimental material, do we really need to hold a ceremony?" Wu Heng replied indifferently.
He manipulated the tentacles, gathering the 'essence' of dozens of monsters in front of him.
Several of the tentacles turned metallic, and their tips began to glow with various complex runes, like a combination of the most sophisticated laser surgical instrument and chemical analyzer.
"Activate 'Life Spectrum Analysis' to filter putrefactive toxins."
Perform 'viable cell centrifugation' to preserve regeneration factors.
Injecting 'high-purity negative energy catalytic enzyme' accelerates the synthesis of life-generating fluid.
Initiate 'molecular-level energy perfusion' to stabilize the serum morphology.
Wu Heng continued to utter those incomprehensible 'techniques' while making empty gestures in the air with his hands.
And those tentacles faithfully carried out his commands:
Some emit energy waves of a specific frequency to scan the monster's remains; others secrete strange liquids to wash and purify them.
Some of them rotated and separated at high speed like a centrifuge; finally, all the extracted life energy, glowing with a soft green fluorescence, was gathered together and formed a pure energy liquid sphere the size of an apple in the center of the tentacle.
"Alright." Wu Heng stopped operating, and the green energy sphere slowly flew in front of him, emitting a rich life aura and a comfortable and warm feeling, which was completely out of place in the surrounding foul environment.
He looked at Dean and Sam, who were dumbfounded: "Who wants to go first? It can be taken orally."
Dean stared at the glowing green liquid, swallowed hard, and asked with difficulty, "Um... Lor, you didn't bring the Grim Reaper's butler with you? How did you manage those... uh... 'refining' processes just now?"
He simply couldn't comprehend what he had just witnessed.
Wu Heng looked at him like he was an idiot, pointed to the ghost ship beneath his feet, then to the tentacles slowly retracting beneath the deck, and said matter-of-factly:
"Energy projection, matter transformation, basic biological extraction. Is this hard to understand? We need to be scientific."
Dean: "."
He looked down at the ghost ship that could fly, go underground, pass through walls, and even summon waterspouts, and mentally screamed, "Science?! You call this science?! What kind of science is this?!"
But looking at the green liquid radiating alluring life energy, and feeling the increasingly unbearable pain in his body, Dean wisely swallowed his complaints.
"Are we really going to eat this?" Dean thought about what the monsters looked like and what their 'food' was like, and he felt like he was eating rotting corpses.
"You chose it!" Wu Heng said with a smile.
"Alright, I'll go first," Dean gritted his teeth, looking like a hero making a difficult decision. (End of Chapter)
