Just as Amelia finished speaking.

"Ugh!"

Castio suddenly let out a painful groan, his body trembled violently, and he almost dropped his phone.

Two contrasting expressions flashed across his face in an instant: one was Castio's usual calmness, and the other was Jimmy Novak's own anxiety, fear, and strong desire to protect his family.

The original consciousness of this body, upon hearing that his wife and daughter were in danger, erupted with a powerful rejection reaction, attempting to regain control of the body.

"Casdeo, what's wrong?" Sam immediately noticed his abnormality and went over to support his swaying body.

Castio forcefully suppressed his body's resistance, his face turning extremely pale. He spoke into his phone in as calm a tone as possible: "Stay where you are, stay calm, I'll be there soon."

After hanging up the phone, Castio took a deep breath and looked at Dean and Sam with a complicated expression: "It's demons. They've kidnapped Jimmy's wife and daughter."

"Damn it, these bastards!" Dean cursed, immediately starting to check his weapons. "Address, we're on our way!"

“But your body.” Sam looked at Castio with concern; he could sense the disorder in the other man’s internal energy.

“I must go.” Castio’s tone was resolute, heavily influenced by Jimmy’s consciousness. “This is my responsibility and my promise.” The last few words seemed not entirely from the mouth of an angel.

He had promised this body that he would protect 'his' family.

Without a moment's delay, the three rushed out of the church, leaped onto impalas, and sped toward Jimmy Novak's address.

Dean floored the accelerator, and the engine roared through the night sky.

However, while driving, Castio, in the passenger seat, suddenly looked up at the dark night sky outside the car window, his face showing extreme surprise and a hint of unease.

"What's wrong?" Dean, who was driving, glanced at him.

As soon as he finished speaking, a pale white beam of light, about three meters long and as thick as an arm, pierced through the roof of the car without warning, like a precise spotlight, directly enveloping Castio's head.

The beam of light flowed with pure and majestic holy energy, completely out of place with the oppressive and tense atmosphere inside the car.

"This is... a message from heaven." Sam sat in the back seat, his eyes narrowing, a strong sense of foreboding rising within him.

Dean gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles digging into it.

Castio, enveloped by the beam of light, instantly stiffened, his eyes becoming empty and dull, as if his consciousness had been forcibly ripped away.

The process lasted for about a minute, during which the carriage was completely silent except for the roar of the engine and the howling wind outside the window.

One minute later, the beam of light quietly disappeared.

Castio snapped back to reality, took a deep breath, but his brows were furrowed and his face was shrouded in gloom.

“The higher-ups have expressed their dissatisfaction with me.” Castio’s voice was low, carrying a hint of barely perceptible repression.

There was confusion, suppressed anger, and even a hint of fear.

"They ordered me to return to Heaven immediately to report for duty. This rescue operation will probably depend on the two of you."

"Dissatisfied?" Sam couldn't help but press, his tone tinged with confusion and a hint of anger. "You're clearly helping us stop the demon from breaking the seal, you're saving people! What's there to be dissatisfied about? Is it because you used angel blood?"

Castio avoided Sam's gaze, shook his head, and without explaining in detail the complex intentions and strict rules of Heaven's higher-ups, simply repeating:

“I’m afraid I’ll be punished when I go back this time. The tone from above is very stern, and I can’t delay any longer.” His words revealed a sense of helplessness, for the punishments in Heaven are extremely severe and terrifying.

But he was just a low-ranking angel and had no right to refuse.

After saying that, Castio closed his eyes before Dean and Sam could say anything more.

The next moment, a powerful, warm yet alienating energy wave was drawn out of his body and receded like a tide.

When Castio opened his eyes again, the calmness in them had vanished, replaced by the fear, confusion, and anxiety of an ordinary man thinking about his wife and daughter's situation.

"Where am I, Amelia! Claire!" Jimmy looked around frantically, then grabbed Sam's arm, who was closest to him. "My wife and daughter are in danger! We have to save them!"

After being possessed by Castio, he was in a semi-conscious state, like someone in a vegetative state, which is why he knew Sam and Dean.

Dean slammed his hand on the steering wheel and cursed, but didn't let up on the accelerator.

"Hold on tight, Jimmy, we're on our way. Sam, explain the situation to him!"

With the screeching of brakes, the three sped into the quiet neighborhood where Novak's family lived.

An ominous silence permeated the area around the house, and the streetlights flickered constantly, disturbed by an unusual magnetic field.

Dean made a gesture, and the three of them approached silently.

A devil in a black suit with dark eyes was leaning against a pillar in the porch, looking bored and keeping watch.

Dean pounced from the shadows like a cheetah, covered its mouth, and swiftly and precisely slit its throat with the demon dagger in his hand.

The demon convulsed, black smoke escaping from its seven orifices and turning to ashes.

After dealing with the guards at the door, Dean gestured for Sam and Jimmy to follow.

Jimmy was trembling with fear, but the thought of saving his family sustained him.

They cautiously pushed open the unlocked door and sneaked inside. The living room was a mess, clearly indicating a struggle had taken place.

The scene in the center of the living room made the three of them feel utterly dejected.

Jimmy's wife, Amelia, was thrown on the sofa with her hands tied behind her back, a rag stuffed in her mouth, and tears welling in her eyes.

Their daughter, Claire, was being held tightly in front of a female demon with a distorted face.

One of the demon's hands transformed into a jet-black claw, gently yet threateningly pressing against Claire's slender neck.

"Oh, look who's here?"

The female demon let out a hoarse laugh, her gaze passing over Jimmy, who was so nervous he was about to rush forward, and landing directly on Sam with an unsettling look.

“What a powerful bloodline. No wonder Lady Lilith favors you so much.” The demon licked his lips. “Listen, Winchester boy, I can spare this lovely little girl and her poor parents.”

It paused, its claws tightening slightly, and Claire let out a painful whimper.

"But there's one condition." A cunning and malicious glint flashed in the demon's eyes. "You, Sam Winchester, must come with us alone now to the place we designate. No tricks allowed, or else..." (End of Chapter)
