The group entered and found themselves in a secret room, the walls of which were covered with symbols of inverted crosses and shattered halos.

There was no gold or silver treasure in the secret room, only a few simple bookshelves, on which dozens of thick handwritten notebooks were neatly arranged.

Wu Heng picked up the top book and opened it.

The paper in his hand was yellowed, the handwriting messy yet fervent, containing detailed records of various speculations and studies on the power of the 'Antichrist,' including its potential connection to the rules of revelation.

Among them are several hypothetical models of force operation, and even some discussions on 'balance loopholes' based on ancient literature.

Much of the knowledge contained here is beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. It involves the participation of otherworldly gods and some extraordinary monsters, as can be seen from the illustrations, which involve a great deal of non-human knowledge.

It can also be considered a research experiment combining technology and mysterious forces.

"It seems we've found the missing part of the 'paper'." A glint flashed in Wu Heng's eyes.

Although these manuscripts are obsessive, some of their reasoning and assumptions based on ancient knowledge happen to fill the gaps in his theory regarding the underlying mechanisms of this force.

It includes a verification process that aligns with the power logic of this world.

He doesn't need the contents of this place; he just needs a 'reasonable' excuse to bring something out, and now he's found that excuse.

With the dozens of research manuscripts they had seized, Wu Heng and his two companions quickly left the monastery and returned to Morric Manor.

Over the next few days, Wu Heng locked himself in the laboratory, immersing himself in analyzing the manuscripts and finalizing the design of the 'balanced equipment' that would carry the four knights' rings.

In his eyes, the fantastical arguments in the manuscript were stripped of their dross, and the valuable core concepts were extracted.

One idea in particular caught his attention: the 'balance point anchoring method'.

Church researchers believe that a certain medium can be used to 'anchor' different, even conflicting, rule-making forces together, forcing them to achieve an unstable coexistence.

This perfectly solves the problem that the four knightly powers of war, famine, plague, and death have very different characteristics and are difficult to integrate directly.

Combining the specific characteristics of the four rings with the possibility of using the 'balancing crystal' as a stabilizing core, Wu Heng's design concept gradually became clear.

He spread out a special sheet of parchment and began to draw the final design.

The final design on the drawing was a pattern of a 'glove'.

The gloves in the design have a hollowed-out back, with metal straps that resemble extended exoskeletons of five fingers, extending towards the wrist and finally forming a black wristband that can be firmly fastened to the wrist.

The first joint of the fingertip extends outwards with sharp, silvery metal nails, like the claws of a wild beast, enough to firmly hold the ring on the finger.

The overall shape presents a sharp, streamlined appearance.

The glove's base is made of 'black metal' from the depths of hell, a metal that has a good affinity and load-bearing capacity for demons and certain supernatural powers.

The back of the gloves and the key joints are decorated with intricate energy-conducting patterns made of 'holy silver' forged from the angel's blade, used to guide and constrain the power of the divine side.

At the lowest joint of the glove, there are four delicate recessed slots, corresponding to the size and energy frequency of the four Apocalypse Knight rings. At the core of the glove, in the palm area, there is a covered recessed groove for embedding the balancing crystal, making it completely integrated and not exposed.

“The key is,” Wu Heng wrote in a note next to the design, “to use the ‘balance’ properties of the crystal shards as a buffer and neutralizer to construct a miniature temporary balancing force field.”

"When the properties of the four rings are activated simultaneously, the conflicts and backlashes between them will first be absorbed and harmonized by this force field, thereby protecting the user and making the combined use of their powers possible."

After completing the design, Wu Heng added a new chapter to his 'thesis', a thick notebook that recorded all his research results on the nature of power and loopholes in rules: "A Preliminary Exploration of the Feasibility Theory of Multi-Source Heterogeneous Characteristic Fusion and the 'Balance Anchoring' Model".

It details the inspiration he drew from church manuscripts and the theoretical basis for the glove design, adding the most crucial technical piece to his grand vision of using the power of the 'Antichrist' to break the deadlock between Heaven and Hell.

This includes over a dozen citations, such as 'based on the balance point theory of Quentin, the second bishop of the Balance Church; speculations about resistance and conflict based on the witch Campbell; and the magic metal forging and extension techniques of the God of the Set Forest.'

Even Wu Heng himself started to believe it after reading it.

Looking at the finalized design drawings and the completed thesis, Wu Heng knew that the theoretical preparation was nearing completion, and he had explained the origin and process to 'this world'.

The next step is to find suitable craftsmen or experiment with the process yourself to turn the blueprints into reality and wait for the right time to use them.

Wu Heng naturally chose to do it himself.

Deep within Morrick Manor, the forging room flickered with firelight, the air thick with the sulfurous stench of hellish iron, the warm aura of heavenly silver, and the unique, neither holy nor evil, energy fluctuations of the 'Balance Crystal'.

Wu Heng was fully focused on the final fusion step of the 'Balance Glove'.

He inserted the four rings of the Knights of the Apocalypse—the dark red of war, the earthy yellow of famine, the ghastly green of plague, and the silver-gray of death—one by one into the slots on the back of his glove.

When the last death ring was inserted, a sudden change occurred.

The four distinct and mutually repulsive forces, even with the balancing force of the crystal shards acting as a buffer, were like four ferocious beasts forcibly confined to the same cage, violently colliding inside the glove.

The glove's surface shimmered wildly, and the holy silver patterns and the cold iron base creaked under the strain, with even tiny cracks appearing at the joint.

The forces of war, death, plague, and famine spread and surged within the laboratory, generating fluctuations powerful enough to instantly transform any Witcher into a crazed, withered monster, taking everything in its path with it.

Fortunately, the protective measures worked.

The powerful energy backlash caused all the protective runes in the forging room to light up with a blinding alarm light.

"No! The power of balance can only harmonize, not truly merge them!" Wu Heng immediately cut off the energy supply. The light on the glove quickly dimmed and returned to calm, but the internal sense of instability still remained.

where is the problem?

He seemed to have a furrowed brow.

He stared intently at the seemingly perfect 'balanced anchoring' model on the design drawings, then picked up the dozens of thick research manuscripts seized from the Church of Balance and began to peruse them more meticulously, not overlooking any seemingly absurd details. (End of Chapter)
