Chapter 572: Fake Jason
Martin turned his head slowly, and he had just spotted Jason coming to the battlefield.
Eyes facing each other.
Jason held the knife that was stained with someone else's scent, half-digging a hole, and looked at Martin.
Martin also stared at Jason expressionlessly, the gear in his right hand still spinning, cutting the air with a whistling sound.
Jason could feel the strength coming from Martin, and that was not someone he could defeat.
Especially the traces of battle around further confirmed this.
This made him regret why he came here before waking up!
Martin threw the head of the Hell Monk in his left hand casually, and the head hit Jason like an anti-aircraft gun.
"Who am I!" the head murmured.
Jason swung the saber in his hand, splitting the monk's powerless head into two pieces.
The head cracked open,
A mouthpart like that of a wire worm suddenly appeared from the back, extending for more than 20 meters, protruding from the back of the head and pouncing towards Jason.
The knife flashed and crackled.
But it didn't work. The nematode-like mouthparts were like tough cowhide, extremely sharp and hard.
It wrapped around the blade and then wrapped around Jason's body.
Martin, who was in the distance, suddenly exerted force with his left hand, and the extended mouthparts in his hand contracted. Jason's body, along with his sword and mask, were cut into squares.
The whole thing fell into a pile, like Lego blocks.
After dealing with Jason, Martin's sensory tissue extended out, and he sensed a scent related to the cursed object in the basement about a mile underground. After approaching half the distance, it shrank back.
Silence fell again.
I think he should be the owner of the "human skull whistle".
"It's safe for now."
Martin's palm returned to human form, he wiped the blood on his clothes, walked in front of the four people, and spoke softly.
"But there will definitely be accidents later. The ritual has been activated. I will take you out first."
Martin walked forward and motioned for the four to follow.
Kurt followed first, and Holden and the other two looked at each other, and after confirming that they had no other choice in this dangerous forest, they followed.
"Martin, what is going on?" Dana asked.
Holden adjusted his glasses, looked at the direction of the cabin where the five of them were heading, and said fearfully, "Shouldn't the most important thing we need to do now be to get out?"
"Say, take the road on the left that we came from?"
Martin gently kicked away the dead branches that blocked the way, walked around the cabin, and led the four people into the forest behind.
As he walked, he said, "The road we came from has been sealed and even the bridge has been buried with explosives."
"We couldn't get out of there."
"The only way now is to go through the employee channel and find some replacements at the same time."
"Staff channel, replacement?"
“Martin, what are you talking about?” Holden was even more confused.
"This place is controlled, controlled by the top management. We are actors, disposable actors, do you understand?"
Martin led the four people to a dug-up grave, which was exactly where the three corpses appeared at the beginning.
He bent down and touched the leaves, and pulled out a piece of wood from the bottom, which turned out to be the entrance to a tunnel. Leading the four people into it, Martin ignored the scrapped switch on the side, and his right hand turned into a curved blade to chop at the metal wall in front of him.
The blade-like mouthparts shot out like a cutting whip, splitting the metal door into two pieces.
He took two steps forward, stretched out his hand and pushed hard.
The entire metal door was knocked to the ground, revealing a modern passage behind it, with square rooms on both sides of the passage.
These rooms are completely sealed and have no doors or windows.
"Oh my God, these are all monsters!" Dana exclaimed.
Martin immediately responded: "Dana, God is dead."
Julie carefully shrank behind Kurt, revealing half of her head. She looked at the monster collection room in front of her, let out a light cry, and quickly covered her mouth.
"So, the monsters that attacked us came from here. Someone released them here on purpose," Horton said angrily.
"Yes and no," said Martin.
He didn't want to explain too much because there were too many issues involved, just like these monsters couldn't be released just because the staff wanted to.
Only when the sacrificial ceremony is initiated, the sacrificed humans will trigger the relevant cursed objects.
Once the sacrifice establishes a connection with these monsters, they will be automatically released, go to kill the sacrifice, and then return to the grid space.
All this is beyond their control.
Although this place is full of modernity, with current human technology, it is impossible to seal these monsters.
When Martin and the other four were about to move forward, they suddenly heard chaotic footsteps and urging voices from the corner ahead:
"Hurry up and go. Blame it on your bad luck. You just happened to be picked from the three lists."
"Tern, don't worry, I will help you take care of your daughter!"
"Fuck! I asked you to take care of my parents, but not my daughter. She doesn't need your care." Another voice came.
"It's okay, it's just a piece of cake." The voice in front said calmly.
"Shh, keep your voice down. We have entered the sealed area. Look at these ugly, greedy guys around us. If the sacrificial ceremony had not started and we could only enter from here, I would rather not come here for the rest of my life." said a deep voice.
No one struggled anymore, not even the sacrificed ones.
They have become numb, having experienced countless sacrifices, and the concept of exchanging a life for the existence of the world has been implanted in their beliefs.
Perhaps at the beginning, they will still remember and respect.
But the anxiety of "earth destruction" and the rituals that determine the fate of mankind have gradually turned their hearts cold and made them accustomed to this crazy mentality.
Death has become commonplace and even a game.
No one respected sacrifices anymore, even when their colleagues, who had previously gambled on the death of others, were chosen as new substitute sacrifices.
It's like seeing a friend's embarrassing moments and being laughed at.
This makes a mockery of the fragility of life.
This group of people have long become mentally ill. If they were to undergo a psychiatric test, I'm afraid that each of them is a severe mental patient, or the dangerous type!
"It's all the fault of those five damn guys. Why couldn't they just die quietly!" one of them cursed.
He was one of the substitute sacrifices.
Instead of scolding his colleagues, he cursed Martin and five others.
"Maybe it's because we are not that noble!" Martin's voice was full of coldness.
"Are you guys the ones who got us into this horrific incident?" Kurt clenched the axe in his hand. (End of this chapter)
