Chapter 963 The Devil's Altar
"Activate the Devil's Altar?"
Ron sat in the passenger seat and heard these words coming from the heart of the devil.
He stared at the black devil's heart, which resembled a shriveled black plum, hanging outside Kevin's chest. The black luster on it was gradually dimming, as if it was about to disappear, and the entire heart fell into silence.
Ron still had many questions and concerns in his mind. Suddenly, a white, icy aura surged from his hand, enveloping Kevin's heart and forcibly fixing the dissipating black light in place.
Then he asked in a deep voice, "Don't fall silent yet. Explain yourself clearly: Is your powerful demon sealed inside the Devil's Altar? Or is it something else? Besides that, what other methods are there?"
"You know we can't release the devil, and given Lucifer's current situation, why hasn't he caught up yet?"
The last glimmer of black light in the devil's heart, bound to its surface, flowed continuously across it before finally uttering a message: "Lucifer is trapped within the Gold Can Company's territory, but you have a limited time of only 24 hours!"
With these words, the black light that Ron had forcibly restrained in his heart seemed to have weakened to its limit.
In a moment, it turned into scattered stars and then disappeared completely, leaving only a plain black heart.
"Sigh!" Ron sighed immediately, knowing that he had lost the chance to ask questions.
Instantly, he controlled the grayish-white mist within his body, transforming it into a scalpel, which he used to cut through Kevin's chest, severing the demonic heart that was hanging outside.
A blood vessel hung from Kevin's chest, like an infant's umbilical cord, leaving a bloody hole on the outside of his chest cavity.
Through the wound, one could see inside the chest cavity, where the broken blood vessels, their stubble congealed, resembled a bird's nest that had lost its chicks, scattered about in a disorderly fashion, like a blood-red bird's nest.
Ron stretched out his finger, and specks of dark white blood seeped from his fingertip, coalescing into a single drop.
Blood flowed towards Kevin's chest.
This caused the flesh and blood in his empty chest cavity to writhe continuously, and the brand-new heart gradually grew out like a hatching chick. In the blink of an eye, his entire chest was completely restored to a smooth state.
"Hiss—!" Kevin also took a deep breath and woke up with a start.
"What just happened? What happened? I think I had a dream, I dreamt of the voice of that gold can company owner!"
"I have no idea when I fell asleep!"
"Kevin, that wasn't a dream, it really happened just now, it jumped out of your heart." Caroline looked haggard; this series of events had left her no time to adjust her mindset.
Jeff curled his lip and pointed to the heart in Ron's hand: "Caroline was right. Here, this is your boss. How about it? Familiar, isn't it? Doesn't it feel like meeting an old friend?"
Kevin glanced at Jeff with an annoyance, his eyes filled with a hint of speechlessness, before listening to Caroline explain what had just happened.
"Damn capitalist devils!" he cursed under his breath.
If he hadn't received Ron's blessing, fused with the demon's limbs, and gained immortality similar to that of a cursed apprentice, he would probably be a corpse by now.
What ordinary person could bear the damage of losing a heart!
The vehicle carrying everyone continued to move forward, driven by Jeff.
"Mr. Ron, what is this devil's altar that the devil mentioned? Are we really going to go looking for this devil's altar?"
Kevin looked completely bewildered upon hearing this new term.
He had been so overcome by the pain that he was completely unconscious and had no idea what had happened. Caroline hadn't explained everything either. "Your boss said so!"
"The only thing that can save us now is to use its heart to open that so-called Devil's Altar. Lucifer, the one who killed someone's wife, is only temporarily restrained. He will catch up with us in 24 hours. That's how it is."
Ron stared at the heart in his hand, lost in thought.
He had two conflicting thoughts:
One possibility is to use this heart to open the so-called Devil's Altar, but without a doubt, it will contain darkness and evil, and he might even release some uncontrollable evil forces that bring disaster to the world.
The second point is: he thought about the source of his body's power. If he were to take this heart and his current predicament to find the master who gave him the power, he might get help. However, the master's power must first be above Lucifer's, otherwise it would be repaying kindness with enmity and bringing enemies to the master.
The problem is that this Lucifer is the guy recorded in legendary documents.
He was unsure and even thought it would be difficult to surpass.
"You guys drive first!" Ron couldn't make a quick decision either.
He felt an immense burden, so he closed his eyes, clenched his heart, and began to pray, while inwardly trying to connect with the source of power within his body.
As his thoughts intensified, he transmitted this perception outwards.
In the end, in a hazy state, he seemed to receive a definite answer from a woman in his mind, telling him to choose the first one.
Ron opened his eyes.
Jeff, who had been watching Ron closely and glancing at him occasionally in the rearview mirror, and Kevin, who was next to him, immediately focused their attention. They knew that Ron must have made some decisions at this moment, decisions that concerned their own fate.
“Jeff, change course. Head to Missy Highway 2, then turn onto Galle Forest. We’re going to find the so-called Devil’s Shrine.”
Ron dripped a drop of blood onto his heart, and the heart, like an unconscious worm egg, momentarily throbbed.
A map-like pattern formed by black blood vessels appeared on its surface. After sensing it, Ron pointed out the direction to Jeff.
"Ok."
Jeff drifted, instantly turning the car around and heading towards another intersection, heading towards the destination he had mentioned.
Ron didn't know what the consequences of his choice would be, but he could imagine that it would inevitably lead to a war between the devil and the so-called Lucifer.
Meanwhile, in Hongxi Town...
Trapped in the triangular pit area of the Golden Crown Corporation, Lucifer, in his dimensional space, was sitting there dressed in a suit.
Around him was a dilapidated company ruin, as if it had been bombed. Only the sofa he was sitting on remained clean. With a thought, all the debris on the ground flew away.
"I'm temporarily trapped!" he muttered to himself.
The surrounding area is a barrier connected to the power of demons, which is one of their protective measures.
If its true form were here, this thing could be destroyed with a flick of its finger; it's just an avatar now, so it needs to destroy it. (End of Chapter)
