Chapter 569 Voldemort's Game Theory
Chapter 569 Voldemort's Game Theory
As the spell progressed, a thin, dazzling tongue of fire spurted out from the tip of the wand. This tongue of fire looked like a golden thread just drawn from the alchemy furnace, red and hot.
It slowly began to wrap around everyone's connected right hands. When it touched their skin, everyone could feel a strange warmth.
It was not scorching heat, but a warmth that came from the soul, as if reminding them of the importance of the oath they were about to make.
Bella said, "Rog, are you willing to keep Bellatrix's plan a secret and not tell anyone?"
"I am willing."
"Are you willing to never speak it, write it, or reveal it to anyone else in any other way?"
"I do." Roger answered again, and he felt the vow flow between them.
"Are you willing to uphold the will of pure-blood wizards and keep the wizarding world pure?"
Roger hesitated. "Consciousness" and "purity" were too abstract and left too much room for interpretation. But it was this ambiguity that gave him room for manipulation.
Moreover, since Bella leaves such ambiguity, it shows that she allows herself to manipulate their definition and meaning.
"I am willing."
Bella nodded with satisfaction, then turned to the others: "Buck, Little Barty, Cedric..."
She called out the names of the other Death Eaters one by one, "Are you willing to keep what happened today a secret and never reveal it to anyone else..."
As each person made a promise, the golden line of fire became brighter and brighter. When the last oath was completed, the line of fire suddenly burst into a dazzling light, and then disappeared as if it was sucked into the skin.
Rogge could feel that his soul seemed to be shackled by invisible shackles.
He knew that if he broke his oath, these invisible golden threads would turn into ruthless noose, silently destroying his soul.
He stood up slowly, brushed off the snow on his robe, and stretched out his hand, motioning Bella to hand him the memory ball.
"Are you going to hide?" Bella chuckled, with a hint of teasing in her tone.
Obviously, after the oath she just made, she no longer regarded Rogge as an outsider.
"We carried guns together, studied together, shared spoils together, and worked as prostitutes together." Although there is no such rhyme in the magic world, the principle is the same.
They are now in a peculiar relationship: they cannot reach a consensus on friendship and ideals, nor can they truly work together in interests, but they hold each other's handles.
Even though they couldn't express it to others, they still developed a strange sense of trust, although they all knew that this trust was limited to this matter.
Roger was playing with the memory ball in his hand, and his eyes inadvertently fell on the unconscious Neville.
Once upon a time, it was because of a memory ball that Neville, Draco and Harry had a conflict in the Great Hall.
Now, he was holding another one. The irony made him laugh.
"Hide?" Rogge repeated softly, as if asking a rhetorical question.
Suddenly, his palms tightened, and the crisp cracking sound was particularly harsh in the silent snow.
"If Dumbledore had destroyed the prophecy back then, there wouldn't have been so much trouble afterwards." He loosened his hand and let the crystal fragments fall. "How could I make the same mistake?"
Bella quickly called him and said, "The master is in Godric's Hollow, why don't you go and see him?"
"Sorry, I have to go to school." Roger pouted and asked Maria to take him away.
Looking at the flames disappearing into the air, Bella looked at Buck with interest: "Our choice was indeed the right one. After Dumbledore's death, he is indeed the hope for the revival of pure-blood wizards."
"Unfortunately, he doesn't fully accept our pure-blood concept. He seems to be particularly tolerant of other wizards."
"Maybe it's because of his girlfriend." Bella said with a smile, "Dumbledore can't win this war, and the Dark Lord can't win either. Even though we can't say we've won a complete victory, we will at least win."
She suddenly changed the subject, her eyes flashing with a morbid excitement. "Let's go, my dear master has been waiting too long. I can't wait for him to torture me with the Cruciatus Curse."
"Hahaha……"
Bella let out a crazy laugh, so piercing that even the snow on the treetops was startled and fell off.
A whirlwind blew past, and the village of Little Hangleton fell into deathly silence, like an empty cemetery.
However, Roger did not return to Hogwarts as he had said.
He quietly came to the outskirts of Godric's Hollow, carefully hiding his body. He stepped lightly on the village's gravel road, approaching little by little.
"It would be better if I could learn Animagus." He complained in his heart.
The village was as peaceful as usual, with wizards chatting and singing in the tavern. Their cheeks were red from the wine and the fire, and their singing drifted far away through the roof.
"What is that?" Rogge suddenly felt an unexpected sound and quickly looked up at the sky.
Two black spots came flying from a distance at a rapid speed, one in front and one behind.
"Voldemort, here I come!" Harry's voice echoed throughout the valley through the sound booming spell, "Where are you!"
His voice was filled with anger and determination, one hand tightly grasped the broom, and his eyes were sharp.
Lupin, who followed closely behind, shouted anxiously: "Harry..."
He finally caught up with Harry and wanted to take him back, "This is Voldemort's trick! We have to find the headmaster."
"Hahaha, Dumbledore's magic backfired." A cold and eerie voice came from the back of the church, as if it came from the depths of hell.
Harry suddenly thought of something, shook off Lupin's hand, and dived towards his parents' grave.
The tranquility of Godric's Hollow was completely broken. When the villagers heard Harry shout "Voldemort", all the singing and noise stopped abruptly.
Fear spread quickly like a plague. Some brave villagers secretly watched through doors and windows, while more people hurriedly used the Floo Network or Apparition to escape.
The terror of more than a decade ago has once again enveloped the entire valley. The ruins of the Potter family still stand quietly, silently reminding people of the carnage that the Dark Lord once brought.
Roger looked at the church in the distance, but his mind was elsewhere. "Where is the Department of Mysteries?"
Harry rushed in and saw the destroyed cemetery, and he was furious. He almost lost his mind, raised his wand and shouted directly: "Avada..."
However, Voldemort's reaction was faster. A flash of light passed by, and Harry was knocked to the ground before he could finish the spell, and his wand slipped from his hand. Bang, bang, bang! Several heavy sounds rang out, and Bella and others brought the unconscious Neville back to Voldemort.
Voldemort's scarlet eyes scanned his men, and his voice was cold: "You are late."
When his eyes fell on Neville, his tone, though harsh, softened a bit, "That bunch of rubbish died again? Bella, I don't want to see you killing each other again. Otherwise..."
"Yes, Master!" Bella immediately fell to her knees, her forehead hitting the snow heavily, making a small hole in the snow.
Her body trembled slightly with fear, but under her drooping eyelids, there was a glimmer of viciousness.
Voldemort paid no attention to his men, nor did he look at them again. His attention was completely focused on Harry and Neville.
"Harry, look at the inscription on your parents' tombstone." Voldemort waved his wand, and a low square tombstone floated in the air. "The last enemy to be eliminated is death."
A beam of light shot out from his wand and hit Neville directly. Neville opened his eyes suddenly and woke up from his coma.
Neville looked around blankly, and when he saw Voldemort, a look of fear appeared on his face. Then, he saw Harry lying on the ground, his eyes full of shock.
“I thought they would carve more brilliant or greater sentences. Unexpectedly, they are no different from me.” Voldemort’s laughter spread into the sky, startling countless birds in the forest. “That’s right, the last enemy to be eliminated is death!”
"You know, the purpose of making the Horcrux is immortality." He swung his arms violently, and Harry flew towards him involuntarily as if being pulled by an invisible rope.
Seeing this, Lupin immediately prepared to cast a spell, but other Death Eaters rushed in like a tide and surrounded him tightly.
"Don't kill him. Since Dumbledore isn't here, let him be the witness." He poked his finger hard at the scar on Harry's forehead, and a trace of warmth unexpectedly flashed in his snake eyes. "Now, let's finish the unfinished business sixteen years ago."
"Tonight, the prophecy will come true. And I, Voldemort, will become truly immortal!" He laughed, turned to Harry and said, "Look at yourself, pitiful, helpless and weak."
"You have the same talent as me, but you are in such a mess..." Before he finished speaking, he threw Harry away fiercely. Harry was like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily into a tombstone.
"Neville." He paused, and his figure floated over lightly.
He leaned forward, his pupils narrowed, and stared at Longbottom. However, the cowardice, fear, and terror he expected did not appear in Neville's eyes.
Neville slowly raised his head, with only determination and courage in his eyes. It was a fearless courage, as if declaring that he would never succumb to darkness.
"What a difficult choice." Voldemort took out the prophecy ball and tapped it with his fingers, making a series of crisp sounds. "Remember your Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"
Neville and Harry looked at each other, bewildered.
“I actually forgot.” Voldemort sneered, his voice mixed with the hissing sound of a snake, which sounded both weird and disturbing: “Perhaps, you should listen to this.”
He held the prophecy ball tightly, and the voices of his brain came out of the ball, which he repeated one by one.
"That old man deceived me." Voldemort gritted his teeth, every word almost squeezed out of his soul, "I never suspected that he deliberately let Severus hear it. In fact, less than half of it!"
"He guided me to choose you, Harry Potter. Your parents didn't have to die." Voldemort's gaze was like a scalpel, trying to dissect the darkness in his heart. "It's the same destined fate, why are your parents sleeping here, but he..."
He pointed at Neville, his tone regretful: "He has everything you want."
"Harry, I'll give you a chance now." Voldemort waved his wand, and the captured members of the Order of the Phoenix appeared one after another.
"If you kill his parents yourself." A rope of white light shot out from the tip of the wand, tying up the Longbottoms and bringing them to Harry, "Then I will release Sirius. Other than that..."
As he spoke, he shot a dazzling green light into the air. In the square in the distance, a witch slowly walked towards him. Her appearance was as unreal as a dream.
She had bright red hair and green eyes that sparkled in the sun. Harry stared at her infatuatedly because of the familiar feeling of blood connection.
"Lily?" Sirius and Lupin exclaimed at the same time, their voices full of disbelief. "This... How is this possible?"
Lily walked to Voldemort's side mechanically, like a walking corpse. Her eyes were empty and lifeless, without the brilliance she remembered.
Voldemort lifted her chin with his wand and said with a smile: "Death is not an invincible enemy."
"Harry, you should know that I have returned from death many times."
"Use the power of the Resurrection Stone to recall the soul, and then use additional blood, flesh and bones to make the body. As long as you kill Neville's parents, I will lift the Imperius Curse." He waved his hand, and Harry's wand returned to his side. The meaning was self-evident.
"Harry, you can't..." Lupin shouted as he fended off the Death Eaters' playful attacks.
Before he finished speaking, Bella's spell hit him. She cast a few Cruciatus Curses fiercely, her smile revealing a cruel pleasure, as if she was enjoying the process of torturing the other person.
"You don't need to object to what the master wants to do."
Harry stared in amazement at the wand that was within his reach. His body seemed to be frozen, unable to move, and his mind was blank.
Voldemort seemed unusually patient, and he even signaled his men to return Neville's wand to him.
"Go ahead and end their lives."
Lily immediately drew her wand and walked towards the Longbottoms with a firm step. Sirius rushed forward desperately to try to stop them, but was kicked away by Barker and fell heavily to the ground.
Voldemort looked at his masterpiece with a look of morbid satisfaction on his face.
This "Lily" is not real, but Harry's aunt Petunia, who was transformed by magic. Due to the two obvious features of hair and eyes, people around her did not suspect that she was fake.
After all, you can say Voldemort is bad, but you can't say Voldemort is a bad person.
Also, the blood connection was real, which was why even Harry was confused.
However, she was still a Muggle.
But no one knew this except Voldemort.
In the eyes of others, Lily is still the powerful witch who used spells to protect children. However, this time, she failed to escape Voldemort's control and was firmly controlled by him with the Imperius Curse.
She will follow Voldemort's orders and kill the Longbottoms, who have lost their ability to cast spells.
Or, Longbottom would strike first and kill the defenseless Lily. Then, what would Harry do?
Voldemort spat out the snake core from time to time, savoring the fear and despair in the air. He enjoyed this suffocating atmosphere very much, he was waiting, waiting for the two children in the prophecy to kill each other.
"Who can survive?" He smiled cruelly, "Who should I choose?" He stroked the prophecy ball.
