Chapter 1317 Lorraine 5
The God of the Abyss put down his teacup and looked at Tan You inquisitively: "Why would you think that?"

“This is a bold assumption, and I’m carefully verifying it,” Tan You put down her teacup. “Now it seems I guessed right? In that case, you are essentially the city lord, and I am essentially your governor.”

"My task is to govern your territory well and discipline your people?"

The God of the Abyss raised his cup again: "It won't be easy to govern them."

“That’s my business,” Tan You smiled, sensing his tacit agreement. “We’ll deal with the future later; there’s always a way. By the way, what kinds of beings are in your place of exile?”

"Besides the known goblins, dwarves, and dragons?"

“Any race that is not accepted by the world is basically in the land of exile.” The God of the Abyss looked at Tan You and said meaningfully, “It’s not too late to regret it now. They are not as easy to talk to as I am.”

“You are indeed easy to talk to,” Tan You said, putting away the lord’s seal. “But I like to face challenges head-on. If you don’t behave, I’ll give you a beating. If one isn’t enough, I’ll give you two. We’ll see who has the tougher backbone.”

The God of the Abyss finally laughed, stroking his teacup: "Someone like you, yet you're radiating golden light? How did you manage that?"

Tan You said with a straight face, "We have a saying where I'm from: 'The Victorious Fighting Buddha is still a Buddha.'"

Her merits were not obtained by saving all living beings, but by her own cultivation and strength, which she earned step by step.

The God of the Abyss paused for a moment, then smiled, his eyes crinkling: "Wonderful little fellow, I wish you good luck."

The voices faded into the room, and Tan You was now alone. Tan You carefully put away the teacup the other person had used: "A strange deity, but certainly easy to talk to."

Faced with a stranger from another world, the God of the Abyss was indeed very kind. According to common assumptions, gods should be high above, arrogant, and unable to see mortals.

But why was the other person so kind to her? And the gods she met last night were all exceptionally gentle with her…

As Tan You pondered these things, she gradually fell into deep thought.

The place of exile.

Along the long border stood towering trees, their gaps wide and their boundaries clearly defined, making it difficult to cross even a single step. It was these giant trees that formed the defensive line, becoming the barrier between the exile land and the outside world.

From the edge inwards, chaos reigned. Dragons clashed in the sky, venting their boundless energy, with water spheres and fire dragons flying everywhere, and fireballs raining down on the ground.

The innocent races affected fled in all directions, and countless people died or were injured in the process.

In a corner of the chaos, several figures dressed in black robes were chanting incantations. As the incantations ended, the races that had just lost their lives turned into undead and gathered towards the shadowy figures.

The bloodstains scattered on the ground were swept away by the strange plants that were waiting to "pick up the scraps".

The entire exile zone was a chaotic and bloody place. It was filled with violence, gore, cruelty, and slaughter; it was a typical dark forest.

They absolutely won't reason with you; they rely entirely on their brute force to get ahead.

The God of the Abyss looked at his unruly subjects within his territory, his brow twitching. He truly wanted to send these unruly people away, but he was a god; if he abandoned these races that were not accepted by others, these races would eventually be wiped out.

Even a god couldn't bear such karmic consequences. Fortunately, it had good judgment and found itself a governor, hoping this governor could bring about significant changes to the land of exile. At the very least, to bring some peace to these races.

Just as the dragons were locked in a fierce battle, a divine decree resounded throughout the Exile: "All races of the Exile, heed my command! The new lord of the Exile, Lorraine Houston, will assume office in two days. She will be the one to whom all races will meet."

"Anyone who dares to disrespect Lorraine Houston shall be immediately expelled from the Exile and never be allowed to set foot there again for the rest of their lives!"

The divine decree immediately resounded throughout the land of exile. The dragons, which had been soaring in the air, were so shocked that they could no longer maintain their flight. They fell to the ground like dumplings being dropped into a pot, and even though they crashed and tumbled, they could not hide the astonishment on their faces.

"Lord?"

"The land of exile finally has a lord?"

"Lorraine Houston? Sounds like a woman?"

"Houston, why does that surname sound so familiar?"

"By the way, did their ancestors have a follower of a harvest goddess?"

"A mere girl, how could she possibly be a lord?"

Numerous whispers arose, but their words contained no expectation for the new lord; rather, they were eager to intimidate him. They would indeed not offend the new lord; they would simply reveal their true nature.

But if this new lord can't accept everyone's true nature and chooses to leave the place of exile on her own, then she can't blame them, can she?
In a corner, the strange men in black robes gathered together and discussed in hushed tones.

"Hehehe... Since he is the new lord, we must go and welcome him to show the sincerity of the people of our exile land."

"Agreed, shall we go?"

"Call in Chris the Red Dragon, Blue Iris the Fairy, and the rest of us, and that'll be enough to make a grand entrance."

"Hehehe, I hope the new lord won't be intimidated by our grand display. This is our way of showing our sincerity."

"She'd better leave this place of exile obediently; it's not a place a little girl can come to easily."

Listening to the discussions of the people below, the God of the Abyss raised an eyebrow. So, little girl, what would you do in the face of this group of desperados?
The wedding day arrived quickly. After all, it was the eldest son of the family getting married. Even though the Houston family had declined, the Dubot family wedding was still very grand.

Little Louis was here with Tan You. The maids helped Tan You change her clothes and then left, leaving only the two siblings in the bedroom. He asked worriedly, "Sister, can we really leave today?"

"No one in this world can hold us back; it all depends on whether we're willing to." Tan You glanced out the window; she didn't believe that the group of outlaws in the exile would obediently wait for her to arrive.

These people are probably already on their way, but she doesn't know when they'll arrive or what kind of "gift" they'll bring. It doesn't matter; she's not afraid of anything.

"Miss Lorraine, it's time for you to go to church with the young master." Just as the siblings were about to continue their conversation about the future, a stern-faced maid came to announce their arrival. She was none other than Pasha, Margery's personal maid.

Tan You raised an eyebrow and readily stood up. She gave Louis a look, and Louis quickly followed. As her only family member, Louis definitely had to stay with her at all times.
