White tea legend

Chapter 153 Zoroastrian Temple

Chapter 153 Zoroastrian Temple
It has been more than half a year since they opened a private medical clinic in Chang'an City, but Bai Cha and Xuanfeng have never taken a good tour of Chang'an City.

Liquanfang, where Lu Yu Thatched Cottage is located, is located west of Zhuquemen Street and west of Fourth Street. From Fourth Street to the north, Jinguangmen Street and West Market to the south, Shunyimenwai Street and Jinchengfang to the north, it is a prosperous place.

As early as the morning mist had not dispersed and the dew was still hanging on the leaves on the roadside, the gate of the workshop had been slowly opened, and the merchants were already waiting outside.

As the market gate opened, people poured into the shop in an endless stream. Street vendors quickly set up their stalls and hung up various signs. The steaming breakfast smoke filled the air with an alluring aroma, attracting passers-by to stop and taste it.

At this time, the sun was three high, the sun was shining all over the earth, and the market was even more lively.

Cloths, ceramics, spices, fresh fruits...the variety of goods is dazzling.

The merchants shouted and praised their goods as unrivaled in the world, including many rare treasures from the Silk Road, which opened the eyes of Bai Cha and Xuan Feng.

The vendors carried their burdens and shuttled among the crowds, shouting one after another.

But seeing the hustle and bustle of the market and the bustle of people, it was like a picture of a prosperous time.

Baicha and Xuanfeng strolled through the bustling market of Liquanfang. As they walked, they came to a place where the crowds gradually thinned out, but they saw an ancestral temple standing here. Its appearance was simple and mysterious, and they couldn't help but stop and watch.

"Sister, this temple is different from those seen elsewhere in the world."

White tea was also discovered.

The appearance of this ancestral hall is very different from ordinary ancestral halls or temples. The walls or pillars of ordinary ancestral halls are carved with common family decorations, or the Confucian gods of Confucius. The carving patterns of the gods in this temple look unfamiliar.

"This temple is called the Zoroastrian Temple. It comes from a foreign land and worships gods from that foreign land." Bai Cha said.

"The Zoroastrian Temple."

Xuanfeng murmured.

But I saw the Zoroastrian Temple standing in a quiet bamboo forest, as if the dust of the years had not touched its solemnity. On both sides of the door, there are two majestic stone lions, each holding a ring in its mouth. The rope in the ring seems to be pulling the mythical beast from ancient legends.

On the lintel, there are indecipherable ancient characters carved with vigorous and powerful strokes, which seem to tell an unknown epic.

Xuanfeng was about to step forward and gently push the vermilion-painted door, but was stopped by Bai Cha.

Bai Cha's slender hands are gently raised, the thin fingers are lightly gathered, and the fingertips are like jade bamboo shoots. They seem to be weaving the invisible dharma realm, silently transporting the secrets of heaven. Every time you pinch your fingers, it's like a river of stars flowing, and every time you count it, it's like the harmony between heaven and earth.

Her eyes were slightly opened, and they seemed to contain the stars in the sky. Through the movement of her fingers, she could see the origin and destruction of everything in the world.

There was suddenly a cloud of fairy energy surrounding the temple, and the fragrance was lingering. Along with her delicate spells and graceful manners, everything was mysterious and unpredictable.

"There are five such Zoroastrian temples in Chang'an City. In addition to this one located in our Liquanfang, there are three others located in Zhufang on the west of the street near the West Market. They are in Buzhengfang, Chonghuafang and Puningfang. The other one is in Jinggongfang on the east side of the street.”

"Sister, do you know which deity is enshrined in the Zoroastrian Temple?"

"Each Zoroastrian temple worships different gods. Some Zoroastrian temples are equipped with sacred fire altars to worship Ahura Mazda, the supreme god in Zoroastrianism, and other Zoroastrian temples are dedicated to the wind god..."

"I didn't expect that the Zoroastrian believers from a foreign land would worship Feng Bo Feilian, our Eastern Heavenly Emperor." Xuanfeng only found it novel.

Bai Cha shook his head and said: "No, Feng Bo Feilian has the body of a deer, the pattern of a leopard, a head like a peacock, horns on the head, and a tail like a snake. The wind god enshrined in the Zoroastrian Temple has three eyes, three faces, and many arms." The image is their own Fengshen, which is different from our Feng Bo Feilian.”

"I see, is this Zoroastrian Temple dedicated to the God of Wind, or...the Supreme God..." Xuanfeng didn't remember the name of the Supreme God.

The names of exotic gods are long.

"Ahura Mazda," Bai Cha reminded him, while looking at the Zoroastrian Temple in front of him, "This Zoroastrian Temple in Liquanfang is dedicated to the God of Fire..."

Xuanfeng's scalp went numb when he heard about the God of Fire. Zhurong, the God of Fire, was defeated in a fight with Gonggong, the God of Water, and crashed into Mount Buzhou, causing Mount Buzhou to collapse in the sky. A big hole appeared in the sky, and heavenly fire poured from nine heavens into the mortal world. Fortunately, Nuwa's search for colorful stones to mend the sky was able to turn the tide and support the building. Otherwise, there would be no such prosperous Li Dynasty, and mankind would have perished long ago.

Vulcan has a bad temper.

Bai Cha appeased Xuan Feng and said: "The Zoroastrian Temple in Liquanfang cannot be enshrined by our God of Fire, Zhu Rong, but by their own God of the Western Regions, named Moxi Shura."

Okay, another hard name to remember.

"Anyway, I just remember that the Zoroastrian Temple is dedicated to the gods of the Western Regions."

"Yes," Bai Cha nodded, "Zoroastrianism originated from Persia. Zoroastrian believers believe in the gods of nature, especially the god of fire. They believe that fire is a symbol of cleanliness and represents wisdom and vitality. Foreigners are not allowed to enter the Zoroastrian Temple. Let's go."

Xuanfeng was indignant as he walked: "This is unreasonable. They came to the land of the Li Dynasty from Persia and used the land of the Li Dynasty to build a temple, but they did not allow the people of the Li Dynasty to enter..."

"Doesn't this just show the tolerance and openness of a huge country? It has the world in mind and tolerance is great. Isn't this something that a little parrot like you can understand?"

Xuanfeng scratched his scalp, feeling that Bo Da was too mysterious. He was just a little parrot and it would be prudent to enjoy some food, so he followed Bai Cha towards Xinghua Tower.

……

As the imperial capital, Chang'an City has prosperous streets and a peaceful country and peaceful people.

However, on the side of the imperial city, there is a charity house called Beitianyuan, which is dedicated to taking in the helpless old, weak and homeless beggars. Its courtyard is located in the southwest corner of Chang'an City, adjacent to the West Market, making it convenient for travel and public charity.

Beitian Yuan is a large courtyard surrounded by high walls to prevent outside disturbance. There are several courtyards inside, with rows of buildings used for wards, dining halls and residences for administrative staff. The courtyard is lined with trees and there are several small gardens where flowers and grass are planted, providing a pure land that soothes the soul for beggars and lonely old people who cannot take care of themselves.

When the saint's imperial grandmother was in charge of the government, the imperial court had set up a Beitian envoy to be responsible for charity affairs related to Beitian Yuan. However, the actual management work was presided over by the temple, and the Beitian envoy only had the power of supervision.

When he ascended the throne today, Beitian Yuan in Chang'an City was actually managed by Da Ci'en Temple.

Emperor Taizong of the Li Dynasty ordered the construction of Da Ci'en Temple in memory of Empress Wende, and the first abbot was Master Xuanzang.

Master Xuanzang presided over the temple affairs here and took charge of the Buddhist scripture translation field. He also founded the Consciousness-Wei Sect, one of the eight major sects of Chinese Buddhism. Therefore, Daci'en Temple has also become the ancestral home of the Consciousness-Wei Sect.

Master Xuanzang also personally designed and supervised the construction of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Now that the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is here, Master Xuanzang has passed away many years ago.

Currently, the abbot of Daci'en Temple is Master Huiguang, and the person responsible for managing the affairs of Beitian Yuan is Master Huiguang's junior brother, Master Shouzhen.

Fangzhengjian received a report early in the morning that something big happened in Beitian Courtyard, so he asked Wuhoupu to help him investigate the case.

Master Fang Zhengjian could not directly dispatch officials from Wuhoupu, but Li Laosi happened to be responsible for the security of Liquanfang. After receiving the request from Fangzhengjian, he immediately sent the entire Wuhoupu of Liquanfang into action.

There were only five people in total.

Wuhoupu is responsible for the public security and fire protection of Chang'an City. There is a Wuhoupu in each of the more than 100 squares in Chang'an City, and its staffing varies according to the size of the square. Liquanfang is a smaller one, and its Wuhou Pu is equipped with five official servants.

When Li Laosi led four of his men to arrive at Beitian Courtyard, Beitian Courtyard was filled with gloom and gloom. The bustling scene in the past was gone. A large number of beggars and old people were lying on the ground, with blue faces and foaming at the mouth. The scene was extremely desolate.

Li Laosi frowned and quickly ordered the government officials to quickly collect the bodies for inspection.

Master Shouzhen and several young monks came over quickly with shocked expressions on their faces and said to Mr. Li: "Looking at the situation, it looks like he died of poisoning."
