Chapter 206, 13, Abaddon: "I am the Conqueror"

The war on the surface of Vigilance has become increasingly chaotic.

The World-Taker Harkon stood on the shattered ruins. This vanguard officer of the Black Crusade looked somewhat disheveled at the moment, no longer as glorious as before.

"Damn orcs!" The World Reaper cursed. He had boasted that he would capture Vigilance for Warmaster Abaddon within eighty days and insert his spear into the surface of Vigilance.

But the chaos here caught him off guard. With various forces appearing one after another, the entire Alert Planet was like a huge meat grinder. He had already been beaten badly by the orcs before he even confronted the Empire head-on.

"How many bugs are there in this world?" The resentment in the World Stealer's tone became more and more obvious.

Even though the main demon army was engaged in a tug-of-war with the orcs, he still did not forget his mission. He sent Nurgle's demon army and stealth-savvy war gangs to sneak into the lower nest of the Vigilant Star Hive City, attempting to create chaos.

This was a foolproof tactic, but the feedback he received left him deeply puzzled.

The descendants of Nurgle and the fallen warriors were actually wiped out by the Genestealers.

This battle situation once confused the world-stealer.

"And the Iron Warriors, they actually retreated before mortals."

The World Reaper did not make much comment on the Iron Warriors' defeat.

While other troops were still engaged in meaningless battles with the aliens, the Iron Warriors at least had a head-on confrontation with the Imperial Legion.

When this thought came to mind, even the World-Taker himself was surprised that his expectations for this war were so low.

But even the war situation was already extremely unfavorable to them.

The World-Taker still hasn't given up hope of winning.

The World-Taker is Abaddon's mouthpiece, and his greatest skill is to stir up chaos within the enemy.

The stronger the fortress, the easier it is to break from the inside. In his opinion, with just one successful rebellion, he can still turn the war around, conquer the world before Abaddon arrives, and fulfill the oath he made in the past.

The World-Taker brought a combat team and quietly arrived at the Saint's Wharf under the cover of the night on the Alert Star.

On this chaotic planet, the Saint's Wharf, which is still under the control of the Imperial Army, is a rare quiet place.

Here, a figure wrapped in a hooded robe has been waiting for the arrival of the World-Rival.

"Congratulations, you have made a wise decision. The hypocritical empire has long been corrupt and unstable. Your only destination is to pledge allegiance to Chaos." The World-Taker stepped forward, a shark-like grin on his face.

"I have not betrayed the Empire, nor have I ever pledged allegiance to Chaos. My loyalty is only to the Agamenus family." The man covered in a hooded robe slowly raised his head, revealing a human face.

This person is the nominal ruler of Vigilance, Lucian Agamenus IX.

"Everything I did was just to resist the authority of the dictator. Vigilance has been under the control of the Agamenus family for thousands of years, but Dukel's minions have taken away all our power. He arbitrarily changed the Emperor's doctrine, usurped the supreme authority of the Empire, and now extends his minions to the territory of the Agamenus family."

"The Agamenus family is only loyal to Your Majesty and will never submit to the rule of a dictator." Lucian said with resentment.

"I don't care about your origins. I only want to know one thing - can you help the Agamenus family regain the power that was taken away?"

"Of course, I promise." The World-Taker chuckled, "You may not understand enough. Compared to hypocritical humans, we have a stronger sense of contract."

"I hope so. What do you need from me?" said Agameneus IX.

"It's very simple." The World-Taker took out a needle with a foul smell, "You just need to insert this into the Thinker's computer at the core of the fortress."

“I will complete the task.” Lucian took the syringe. “Don’t forget our promise.”

"May our cooperation go smoothly." The World-Taker bewitched, "Then you will restore the glory of the Agamenus family."

Lucian nodded, "How will this help you win this world?"

"This is not something you should know. You just need to complete what you are supposed to do, and then become the eternal ruler of this world."

The World-Taker's eyes were fixed on the mortal before him.

If the war situation had not been too bad, he would never have personally come into contact with the other side.

He saw hope for a comeback in this foolish dignitary and placed high hopes on him.

If it weren't for this reason, he wouldn't even bother to contact the other party.

The other party asked too many questions, which made him feel a little impatient.

There was something dangerous in his eyes.

His personal guards have already scouted the surroundings and found that there are no imperial troops nearby. If the other party continues to talk too much, he doesn't mind killing him directly and taking his identity.

Doing so may involve the risk of being exposed, but it is better than being a clever pawn.

The World-Taker even had a vicious idea in his mind - after the other party helped them take over the world, he would embed the other party's skull on the scepter as a reward.

This can be considered as keeping the promise and allowing the other party to enjoy eternal power.

Lucian realized that he could not ask any more questions. He stopped asking questions and quietly stepped back. He said,

"I reiterate to you that my loyalty to the Empire remains unchanged."

"Got it, little guy who is loyal to the false emperor, now go and do what you should do." The World Stealer said impatiently.

He was disgusted by the hypocritical faces of the powerful and wealthy.

“No, you don’t understand.” Lucian pulled out a piece of rune paper with an inscription from under his robe. The rune paper spontaneously combusted in the air, and the ashes and flames outlined a huge rune.

Seeing this huge unfamiliar rune, the World Stealer had a bad feeling in his heart, and he wanted to say something.

But at the location where the rune was anchored, a dazzling beam of teleportation light suddenly lit up in the darkness.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, a proud warrior wearing heavy armor painted black and green walked out steadily from the beam of light.

Behind him, there was another team of equally elite warriors.

They were the Doom Slayers who came to support Vigilante.

They are powerful, brave, and most importantly, they are very good at dealing with demons.

Doom stood at the forefront of the group of warriors, his armor still flowing with the glow of virtual energy.

As the most powerful Doom Slayer at the moment, just him standing here makes the World Taker feel doubled pressure.

The World-Taker's adjutant was facing the beam of light and was also the closest to it.

The demon lieutenant with a face like octopus tentacles had no time to react before Doom swung the butt of his gun and smashed his head.

The blasphemous demon blood splattered everywhere, and the Doom Slayer's speed was so fast that it was difficult for everyone present to react.

Just now, they were rejoicing at the nobles' betrayal and looking forward to victory.

But in the blink of an eye, the situation suddenly reversed, and even his lieutenant was killed by the Slayer. The World Taker looked at this scene, and after a moment of stunned silence, he howled in uncontrollable anger.

“You shameless fool, you actually betrayed me!” His eyes almost emitted tangible flames as he stared at Lucian with great malice.
"Have you forgotten how the power of the Agamenus family was eroded step by step?"

“I haven’t forgotten.” Lucian shook his head. “That’s why I need to prove my worth in exchange for the qualification of the Agamenus family to gain a foothold in the new era of the empire.”

Lucian admitted that he was a noble who was greedy for power. He and the Agamenus family might be selfish and might have done many wrong things, but they were not stupid.

There might be no upside to swearing homage to the Empire, but swearing homage to Chaos is clearly all downsides.

Lucian also didn't think that Chaos could win the victory over Vigilance.

Currently, the Empire has four Primarchs. With Duke taking over as Warmaster, the Empire has already sounded the clarion call for a counterattack, even though he is a noble from a remote star region, and even though he and his family are short-sighted.

But which citizen of the empire doesn't want to see the new era of mankind with their own eyes?
"you!"

In extreme anger, Abaddon's mouthpiece was almost speechless.

The hope of winning was gone, and the shame of being fooled and betrayed by a mortal man made him completely lose his mind.

The World Rider didn't even pay attention to the Slayer who walked out of the beam of light, and waved his spear, determined to make the noble pay the price.

He launched a fatal attack at Lucian, and in his furious state, he flashed by as fast as a phantom.

There was panic in Lucian's eyes. He deliberately angered the World Taker in order to show his loyalty in front of Doom in exchange for the survival of the Agamenus family.

But even though he had made up his mind, he still couldn't avoid fear when he really faced death.

In less than a breath, the World-Taker's spear was already within reach of him. Feeling the sharpness of the spear, Lucian closed his eyes in despair.

It doesn't matter if he dies here, he will be a hero of the empire.

For the House of Agamenus!
But at this moment,
"boom!--"

A dull gunshot was heard, and a column of red flames spurted out of Doom's double-barreled shotgun.

The spreading bullets were like a storm of steel, tearing half of the World Taker's body apart in an instant, shredding his armor, and even shattering most of his internal organs.

Even if the world-stealer is blessed with the original great power, there is still no possibility of survival under this violent attack.

Just one shot left most of his body in tatters.

The World-Taker's personal soldiers saw their leader fall, and they rushed forward one by one with violent malice.

The Doom Slayer behind Doom also took action at this moment.

This was an unequal massacre.

The demons had almost no ability to fight back in front of the Doom Slayer.

Doom was like a tiger entering a flock of sheep, slaughtering the demons.

Double-barreled shotguns and chainswords are the weapons that demons are most reluctant to face.

The unclean demon blood splashed everywhere, and the demon guards of the World-stealer were quickly slaughtered.

Even when the World Taker fell to the ground and lost his ability to fight, and was about to be executed by Doom——

The violent subspace psychic fluctuations tore the space here apart. Flames and thunder gathered together and exploded in the air, and even the space was torn into huge cracks.

Facing this attack head-on, Doom had to temporarily give up on executing the World Rider and punched back at this powerful psychic impact.

The psychic shock was detonated, and a huge shock wave swept everything around it, causing dust to fly and the battlefield to become chaotic.

Several Tzeentch wizards suddenly appeared and took the World Rider away.

After the World Ravager saw the figure of a Tzeentch demon, the scene before his eyes changed.

By the time the space around him stabilized again, he had already left the battlefield.

The World-Taker was not happy about his rescue.

Because he knew that the failure of this operation had completely made him lose the possibility of seizing this world.

He broke the oath he had made to Abaddon.

Just when he was feeling bitter, something even more disturbing happened—Abaddon called him at this moment.

Aboard the Vengeful Spirit.

"Connect me to the World-Taker." As Abaddon spoke, he looked at the wizard wearing a beast mask who had already begun carving the octagonal summoning rune on the table.

"I want to hear what the World-Taker declares in my name."

"As you wish, Warmaster." The wizard bowed deeply, as respectful as ever.

Ritual incense burned, and the smell of burning bones wafted across the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit.

The World-Taker's red eyepiece and twisted mouth took shape in the mist, and the wizard bowed before retreating into the shadows.

“Harkon, reporting in,” the Warmaster said. “You look a little distressed.”

"We bring war and disaster in your name, my lord, but this is not conquest." The first words of the World Reaper were to quietly shirk his responsibility for the war. "We have not yet conquered this world."

"I am the conqueror." The Warmaster opened his arms, and his unparalleled aura swept the surroundings.
"Now that I'm here, who's still resisting?"

"Orcs, Zerg, Eldar, Doom Slayer, Ecclesiarchy, Iron Hands, Sisters of Battle, Knights, Brass Claws."

The World Stealer spat out name after name as if he was calling out the names of dishes. Until a minute later, the vanguard officer of the Black Expedition was still continuing to report.

Abaddon: “.”

"Okay, Harken, your report is over."

"But, my lord," the World-Taker continued, "I haven't finished yet."

"That's enough!" Abaddon turned his eyes away in disgust.

"I am disappointed in the shortsightedness of Dukor who sent so many reinforcements," the Warmaster continued. "Dukor's absence has delayed my chance to kill him. I will have to hang the head of that arrogant and foolish Doom on the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit."

"Time is running out, my lord," said the World Reaper. "I issued my ultimatum to this planet two months ago. The Hell Spears have penetrated the surface as deep as ever. The announcement has been made, but the Imperials of this world still believe we are bluffing."

"This declaration is true," Abaddon said without question. The slaughter he promised was imminent.

"The world will burn. It is true." Abaddon smiled.

"The fate of Vigilance is sealed."
