Mystery: Lucky One

Chapter 353:36 Why not ask Mr. Fool?

Alice quickly and decisively covered her mouth with her hand.

Then she felt something was wrong, half-opened her fingers, and made a sound from between them:

"No thanks, I don't miss it at all."

She firmly rejected the proposal of "The World".

Their communication made others realize that this rule was not just a whim of Alice, it seemed to represent something - God knows, they really thought at first that it was the product of another fit of Miss Fate.

No one would think that this was some mysterious ritual, which was mainly determined by Alice's style of doing things in the Tarot Club.

In the daily chat sessions of the Tarot Club, before the arrival of Ms. Hermit, the usual narrator was the knowledgeable Mr. Hanged Man.

Even though "The World" should have rich experience, he is not talkative most of the time. He mainly... mainly tries to stop Alice from making weird remarks.

After the arrival of Ms. Hermit, the main narrators became Mr. "The Hanged Man" and Ms. "The Hermit". Only Alice would still say some very strange words from time to time, and then be stopped by "the world".

For example, Alice once asked Emlyn "The Moon" whether "vampires" couldn't taste human food - otherwise why were potions so unpalatable?
Then Audrey was surprised to learn that vampires also eat human food, probably like humans eat snacks - this analogy was also given by Alice.

Of course, Alice would occasionally offer some... unexpected suggestions.

For example, after learning that the people of the "Forsaken Land of Gods" had to rely on the unpalatable black grass for survival, Alice once asked in confusion:

"In that case, why don't you ask Mr. Fool to give you food?"

——How can the gift from God be used to do such a thing?
This feeling was just as terrifying as when Audrey discovered one day that the person who needed activity funds was not Mr. Fool's followers, but Mr. Fool himself.

How can gods be associated with such worldly things!

Except Alice.

Of course, the Sun Derrick rejected Alice’s words, because Alice’s proposal was not as simple as asking Mr. Fool to deliver food. She suggested that Silver City order takeout through Mr. Fool.

When she tried to show Derrick the recipe, this was stopped by "The World", and Derrick was relieved and thanked Alice for her kindness while rejecting her.

——Who would really let the true God deliver food to them? !
Alice didn't understand this. After all, the Tarot Club's transactions seemed like express delivery to her. Mr. Fool was a courier, so it was normal for him to deliver takeout...

After observing the expressions of others, Alice wisely did not ask the question.

It seemed like she was the only one who thought this was normal. Although I didn't understand what was wrong with it, I guess she wouldn't understand even if I asked her. So forget it...

With such a weird personality, it is understandable that Alice would occasionally think of some strange things.

But the words of The World made the members of the Tarot Club realize that this was not the case. At a time when everyone was thinking about different things, Emlyn the Moon asked carelessly:
"What past? Why are you two so secretive?"

After these words came out, even the usually reserved "Hanged Man" Alger and "Hermit" Cattleya couldn't help but glance at Emlyn, so Emlyn asked:

"Why are you all looking at me?" "They are expressing their gratitude and admiration for you," said Alice, whose brain capacity is much larger than Emlyn's. "Your courage has earned you all this. You are worthy of being the savior of the vampires in the prophecy!"

——In order to match the content of this passage, Alice replaced the commonly used term "vampire" with "blood clan".

This success made Emlyn feel elated. He puffed out his chest with pride and forgot his initial doubts for a moment:

"That's it! We, the vampire race..."

Then came the incomprehensible words such as "ancient race" and "noble existence". No one laughed in front of Emlyn, but the gray fog was filled with a happy atmosphere for a while.

From this perspective, she is actually quite smart... Klein looked at Alice who nodded perfunctorily in the gray fog, then looked at Emlyn who was talking loudly, and smiled.

Alice didn't know that someone had just weighed her brain and Emlyn's cerebellum together for comparison. She just changed the dangerous topic after Emlyn finished bragging and asked:
"Ms. Hermit, do you know how to pass on information without being noticed by the Hidden Sage?"

The Hermit Cattleya glanced hesitantly at Klein, whose face could not be seen clearly in the gray fog, and then replied:
"If I had known, I would not have..."

If he were not alarmed by the pursuit of the "Hidden Sage", Mr. Fool would not be abducted into the Tarot Club and become a member of the secret organization...

Cattleya didn't say it, but Alice felt that she understood. She raised her chin slightly and asked:
"What, you regret it?"

Alice's tone was flat, and her glance at Cattleya was nonchalant, revealing no malice, but at a certain moment, Cattleya felt that something terrifying was staring at her.

"Of course not," she denied. "This is my honor and my opportunity."

After a pause, she added to make her statement more credible:
"If it weren't for you, I don't know how long it would take me to get the trace of the mythical creature's blood..."

She had originally said this just to deal with Alice, but as the words fell, Cattleya suddenly realized that it was true.

——In a sense, being unexpectedly pulled into the Tarot Club and witnessing the revival of one... or maybe two gods, can indeed be called an opportunity.

The prerequisite is that the god she follows is successfully resurrected, and this god cannot be too...

Cattleya glanced at Alice obliquely.

Alice glanced at Cattleya thoughtfully. Her words were not sincere. At least if she had a choice, Alice was sure that she would not accept such help.

It doesn't matter, she has no choice anyway.

Alice looked at Cattleya with a half-smile, and sized her up from head to toe with the same eyes that Klein used to look at Jin Pound. When she was terrified, she spoke:

"Okay, what you said is true.

"So you don't know how to isolate yourself from the gaze of the Hidden Sage?"

Cattleya hesitated and glanced at Mr. Fool, who was hiding in the gray fog and keeping silent. (End of this chapter)
