Hogwarts starts with stealing power.
Chapter 622 Scaring Away the Death Eaters
The Death Eaters in the shadows watched Harry standing on the platform wearing the Sorting Hat in silence. Some of them even stared wide-eyed at Harry, as if they could hurt him with a thought.
But no matter how hard you stare, it's all in vain.
Harry chatted excitedly with his friends, and the Sorting Hat on his head tilted and swayed with the expression on his face.
This scene was particularly jarring to the Death Eaters.
"What are we supposed to do now? Are we just supposed to stand here and wait? Can't we do something else?"
For example, luring Harry to other places would allow them to launch an attack at the station.
One of the Death Eaters suddenly spoke up.
Immediately, other Death Eaters scoffed, "Who's going to be the Attractor? You might not care about your life, but I do!"
After a long manhunt by the Minister of Magic, the Death Eaters who remained in Britain were all cowards; they had no intention of attracting attention and then sacrificing themselves heroically.
Even this attack was only initiated because someone secretly promised them significant benefits.
Why would they take such a big risk to stand at King's Cross if there were no benefit to it?
None of us are people who have nothing better to do than look after ourselves; right now, everyone is too busy taking care of themselves.
One of the Death Eaters, his eyes darting around, suddenly seemed to remember something and said in a low, hoarse voice:
“Then I will draw Harry’s attention away, but after I do, I will leave King’s Cross Station directly and will not participate in any subsequent attacks. You will have to give me the share of the benefits you promised me in advance.”
"No way!" a Death Eater immediately retorted. "Who knows if you'll just take your share and leave?"
It wasn't that he didn't trust his companions, but that's just the kind of people Death Eaters are.
The reason they were allowed to participate in attack after attack was because there was someone powerful enough to keep them in check.
With a leader, they have no choice but to obey orders.
But now Bellatrix is missing, and without a powerful enough person to restrain them, they are like a pile of loose sand.
Anyone who believes the Death Eaters' nonsense is a disgrace to being a Death Eater.
Just as the group was about to start arguing amongst themselves, one of the Death Eaters sensed something and suddenly looked towards a certain spot in the station—
He was an ordinary-looking Muggle with no magical powers.
The Muggle looked around, as if searching for someone.
He wasn't quite right in his disguise; there was a long strip of something visible along the edge of his tight trousers.
The Death Eaters immediately recognized that the outlined shape was a magic wand.
The Death Eater's expression changed drastically. "When did those hyenas from the Ministry of Magic arrive? Didn't they have another large-scale manhunt today? Why are they targeting this place as well?"
The other Death Eaters followed his gaze and noticed the "Muggle" looking around.
At that very moment, the Muggle being stared at felt a chill run down his spine, as if he were being pricked by thorns.
His expression changed slightly.
This intense, piercing gaze... I've definitely been exposed!
So he quietly lowered one hand behind his back and made a "do" gesture to those behind him.
The next second, the "Muggles" deployed in the shadows poured into the station from all directions, searching for the Death Eaters.
The Death Eaters, on the other hand, didn't need anyone to give them a heads-up.
Upon seeing the Muggle who seemed out of place, they scattered in all directions, still under the Invisibility Charm, and fled in a chaotic rush!
They move like snails, taking each step slowly and deliberately.
They are as swift as birds of prey when they flee; they take flight at the slightest disturbance.
The Aurors, unsurprisingly, came up empty-handed.
Even with the help of the Binding Wand, they still need to see a Death Eater before they can activate the binding magic on the Binding Wand.
If you randomly shoot spells when you can't even see people, it will only affect the Muggles who are passing by, and the Ministry of Magic will hold you accountable.
The Aurors searched for quite a while, until all the students arrived at the station, then temporarily stopped the search and quietly maintained order as the crowd flowed in.
“These Death Eaters are faster than rats; they must have sensed something and run away.”
An undercover Auror stood in front of a convenience store, watching the Muggles coming and going, and spoke to his companion beside him.
The companion burst into laughter, staring intently at Harry.
"With this savior here, why would we need to lift a finger? In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, the Gryffindor sword in the Sorting Hat alone would be enough to keep the Death Eaters from moving an inch."
I actually hope those rats will be a little tougher today and launch an attack right in front of Harry. That way, catching them would be a piece of cake, and I could get a free credit and a promotion sooner!
Another Auror, seemingly lost in thought, exclaimed happily, "It's a pity Harry is only in his third year. If he had joined the Aurors after graduation and become one of our companions..."
"Then if we do missions with him, we won't have to worry about safety. He's more than capable of protecting us!"
"No, I think we should put this idea away as soon as possible."
Another Auror said with a solemn expression, "With Harry's abilities, the missions he can access are definitely S-class, and the mission locations alone are extremely dangerous."
Harry can protect himself, but he might not be able to protect his companions.
Besides, if Harry is really in danger, we'll have to protect him; we can't just let him sacrifice himself in front of us, can we?
Thinking about it that way, it makes sense.
The Aurors immediately abandoned their desire to take advantage of the situation.
Ordinary people have ordinary worries, but geniuses also have genius worries.
Being a genius isn't easy.
Every genius who wants to rise to prominence must go through one life-or-death crisis after another.
Harry and the others were unaware that they had already survived a crisis.
As the time for students to arrive at the station approached, they welcomed their first group of Hogwarts students, a group of familiar faces.
The Weasleys!
The entire Weasley family came out, with Percy standing at the very front.
His fingers would always brush against the shiny male student council president badge on his chest, his back ramrod straight as his new magic wand.
Holding a parchment in his other free hand, he said to his mother, Molly, as he walked:
"Mother, after I became the student council president, I began revising the Hogwarts Express Ordinance for New Students, and I added three new safety rules to it."
He said in a spirited tone, "Although it's not the time for new students to enroll now, I want to practice it in advance. If it works well this time, we can use it directly for new student enrollment when the next semester starts."
Molly was instructing Ginny: "Study hard at school, listen to your teachers, and if you have any problems, go to your brother Ron, or Fred and George."
Percy interjected, "Mother, you can also have Ginny come to me. Although I may be very busy at school, I can get other students to help me get things done with just a word."
Molly nodded: "Yes, yes, we can also go to Percy."
Percy waved the parchment in his hand again. "Going back to what I said earlier, I've added new guidelines. Article 4 clearly stipulates that all luggage racks in the carriages must have an emergency exit wide enough for one person to pass through." Father Arthur, helping Ginny with her suitcase, asked curiously, "Is this emergency exit the same as an escape route? Did you reference Muggle escape route designs? Let me think..."
“No, Father!” Percy turned sharply, the badge on his chest flashing coldly in his hurried movement.
"I referred to the relevant professional documents issued by the Department of Magical Transportation. You shouldn't think in terms of Muggle habits, as that would affect the authority of the regulations I formulated!"
"Okay, okay," Father Arthur said somewhat perfunctorily.
Percy was about to say something when Molly suddenly looked at Ron ahead and screamed, "Oh, who do I see, Ron? What are you doing here? You didn't run away from school, did you?"
Molly walked briskly forward, stretching out one hand as if to twist Ron's ear.
Ron quickly hid behind Harry.
"No, Mother, I was specially invited by the school to oversee things. Look at the welcome placards Harry and I prepared for the students. You've misunderstood me!"
Ron said as he hid.
Molly paused, carefully examined the cardboard signs Harry and Ron were holding, and said with satisfaction, "Not bad, it seems you've made a lot of progress staying at school this winter break."
I hadn't noticed any change in Ron when I saw him from afar.
Now that they're up close, Molly suddenly realizes that Ron seems to have grown even taller.
His features have become more defined, and his overall demeanor has become more scholarly.
Ron no longer looked at her timidly, but instead his gaze was calm, and he stood tall and proud.
"Mom, I gained a lot during the winter break. I tutored a professor to complete a related experiment, which may be fully implemented in the school this semester."
In addition, I've reviewed all the course content for this semester, and I'm confident that even if I took the final exams now, I could get an A+!
Molly looked at Harry, as if to ask: Is what he said true?
Harry nodded firmly.
Molly said with a look of relief, "Ron, it's so wonderful that you've become so outstanding."
Percy also sensed Ron's unusual energy and spirit.
He felt a surge of indescribable emotion, which was definitely not a good one.
Percy adopted a stern tone and criticized, "Although you have learned a lot during the winter break, you can't be so arrogant. What if you don't get an A+ on your final exam?"
Don't be too confident in your statements. Just aim for a B. Remember to stay humble and modest, and avoid being arrogant or complacent.
Ron turned his head and secretly rolled his eyes.
He disliked talking to Percy even more than to his twin brother, because every time he did, he would be lectured by him.
In the past, when Percy reprimanded Ron, no one said a word.
But this time, after Percy finished speaking, the twin brother unusually stood next to Ron.
Fred: "Percy, you're wrong about that. Everyone knows that ever since you became the student council president, you've become incredibly arrogant."
George chimed in, "Exactly! You always have to touch the president's badge on your chest wherever you go. You look like the proud and smug one."
Fred: "And you don't want us to come to you at all; you find it troublesome."
George: "Every time I ask you something, you have to repeatedly emphasize that you are the student council president, that you should set an example, that you can't reveal information that we can't know, and that you can't be treated specially."
The twins said in unison, "By the time you figured out how to help, we would have already solved it!"
Percy's face flushed red, a mixture of embarrassment and anger at having his secret exposed.
He was breathing heavily, as if he was trying his best to endure something.
Harry looked left and right, not daring to get involved in the Weasleys' dispute.
Ron also sensed that the atmosphere was a bit off. He wasn't very emotionally intelligent to begin with, so he said something unusual to ease the tension.
"Father, Mother, please take Ginny onto the train first. We still need to welcome the other students."
Molly nodded quickly: "Yes, Ginny, get on the train first."
Percy's lips parted slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he left in silence.
Ron muttered under his breath, "George and Fred must be out of their minds. They usually don't get involved in Percy's lectures, and Percy doesn't scold them either, because he knows it won't work."
Lin Xia, recalling how the twins had glanced at them repeatedly before leaving, said thoughtfully:
"Perhaps they need your help with something, so they're speaking up for you on purpose."
Ron: "Huh?"
He pointed to himself: "You want my help? You'd be better off asking me. What would I want from them?"
Before anyone could think it through, another group of students entered the King's Platform.
With Harry and the others leading the way, the students were no longer nervous. They found the stone wall they could pass through in an orderly manner and rushed forward when no one was paying attention.
Lin Xia and the others stood in another spot where they could easily observe the stone wall, watching the students keep crashing into it.
Occasionally, some busy Muggles noticed the group of students banging their heads against the wall and were momentarily bewildered.
But when they looked again, they didn't find anything wrong.
It turned out that Lin Xia had deliberately waved her wand and reapplied a confusion spell to the surrounding stone walls.
Any Muggle who sees them will lose the memory of what they saw the next second.
This confusion spell only works well on Muggles; it's far from being able to erase memories for wizards.
Harry and his friends also encountered many parents while guiding the students into the station.
Parents led their children over to greet Harry and express their gratitude.
"Thank you so much. If you hadn't been here to protect them, I wouldn't have dared to send my children here. I was so afraid they would be attacked again!"
"Harry, thank you for your contribution in the battle of Hogsmeade. Without you, I really don't know what would have happened to my child!"
"Harry, could you give me your autograph? My child is a huge fan of yours!"
Harry was practically surrounded by parents!
Others also guided students, but all of them combined did not match the number of parents surrounding Harry.
Lin Xia used an interesting phrase to describe it: "Harry is almost becoming the guardian angel in the eyes of parents, the darling of Hogwarts!"
"Wherever there is danger, there Harry will be. Why does Harry go there? Because he is in charge of putting out fires."
Draco joked, "Using a fire extinguisher to describe Harry would be more accurate."
Hermione was more worried than the two of them were joking around.
"Harry's parents have put too much pressure on him. He's just a student and shouldn't be under so much pressure."
Ron shrugged. "I thought Harry had been the center of attention in the entire wizarding world since birth." (End of Chapter)
