Chapter 712 The Professor Takes Action to Resolve the Chaos
Lin Xia cleaned up the waste produced by the two snail-sheep beasts during their evolution, then removed the isolation magic and returned to the ballroom.
However, by this time, the ballroom was very different from what it had been at the beginning.
The frantic shouts, the little wizard's running around, and the pets' rampage filled Lin Xia's ears, making her pause in surprise.
Lin Xia raised an eyebrow, watching the chaotic scene before her with interest.
Without a doubt, it must be the potion made by the Weasley twins that took effect.
The two snail-like creatures' eyes darted back and forth. Having undergone a metamorphosis, their thinking abilities had improved significantly, making them even smarter than before.
They looked at the scene before them with the same curiosity, which was very different from the scene when they first arrived at the ball.
What exactly are these pets chasing?
Suddenly, a cute little white rabbit with sapphire-like eyes hopped and skipped up to the two snail-like creatures.
One of the snail-like creatures scratched its hoof restlessly.
I don't know why, but when it saw this cute little white rabbit, it thought it was very beautiful, the most beautiful creature in the world!
It wants to pursue it!
The snail-sheep beasts have just undergone bloodline evolution, and the boiling energy in their blood has not yet dissipated. This boiling energy will continue for a long time, constantly transforming their bodies.
Fueled by this fervor, a glimmer of clarity flashed in the snail-sheep beast's eyes, and it was not easily controlled by the sudden surge of emotions.
Lin Xia noticed this scene and specifically looked at the other snail-sheep beast that was indifferent to the little rabbit, thinking to herself:
Although both snail-goat beasts successfully evolved, some differences emerged during the evolution process.
It's a pity we can't keep them with us for extended periods of observation, otherwise we could have found the differences.
However, Lin Xia quickly put this worry aside.
Although it's a bit troublesome, she can still observe it by monitoring the magic rune array; it just takes a little time.
"Tiao qiao!"
"Caicai!"
Even from a distance, Lin Xia could hear Ron's shouts. Amidst the chaos, Ron hadn't forgotten his snail-like beast.
Lin Xia then led the two snail-like beasts to where he was.
"Qiaoqiao! Caicai! Are you alright?"
Ron’s eyes lit up when he saw Lin Xia, and then when he saw the two snail-like beasts beside her, his eyes sparkled with joy and relief.
"I just saw a rabbit that had taken a charm potion running towards you. I'm worried that you might be affected by it. Even Hedwig almost got affected!"
Lin Xia asked curiously, "Hedwig is a bird, is it interested in this rabbit?"
Ron nodded with lingering fear: "We thought Hedwig was strong-willed and wouldn't be affected by the charm potion. When Harry and I found it, it was chasing this rabbit in the air."
Thankfully, it didn't try to catch the rabbit. The twin brother told me he saw it nearly kill a large cow. How could Hedwig, with her small frame, withstand that kind of force?
Ron and Harry were together, not far apart.
Ron spotted Lin Xia, and soon Harry spotted her too, and he came over.
Lin Xia saw Hedwig standing listlessly on Harry's shoulder, looking dejected and listless.
Lin Xia asked curiously, "What's wrong with it?"
Ron said quickly, "It was tackled by Crookshank with a leap and got a good slap, but that slap brought it to its senses and it stopped chasing the rabbit."
Harry found it, put it beside him, and prevented it from flying away.
Lin Xia smiled faintly, "These pets are so cute."
Harry couldn't see the white fairy on Lin Xia and asked worriedly, "Where is the white fairy? Is she in danger?"
Lin Xia calmly said, "No, it's rare for it to be awake. It didn't stay by my side; it ran out to look around. It must have gone to find its friends."
Who is your friend?
That is, of course, Mrs. Lorris.
Its little black cat, who always followed her around, wasn't taken to Hogwarts by her.
"Hey, why do I think Qiaoqiao and Caicai are even prettier than before?" Ron said after observing carefully.
Lin Xia said without changing her expression, "I brought them over to make friends, and I thought they could be even prettier, so I groomed them, trimmed their fur and styled their hair. Aren't they beautiful?"
Harry looked over. The snail-like creature used to be cute, but now it had an indescribable charm, seemingly more lively and beautiful than before.
Harry: "It's very beautiful."
Ron rubbed Qiaoqiao's head and said with some regret, "It's a pity that tonight's pet dance party was ruined by the charm potion, otherwise you might have even won a prize!"
While the group was chatting, another snake rushed in from somewhere else.
The snake rampaged arrogantly, followed by a large group of interspecies creatures that relentlessly pursued it, their eyes gleaming with fervor.
The snake glanced at Lin Xia, then at the two snail-goat beasts beside her, and suddenly shook its head slightly at them.
Lin Xia and the others quickly made way for them, while the two snail-like beasts ran alongside, unmoved.
Seeing that the snake was about to rush towards them, Lin Xia simply cast a barrier spell on herself, making the pets unable to see them, and thus escaped unharmed.
Ron stared at the backs of the snake and the other small animals and exclaimed in astonishment, "I don't know if I just saw it wrong, but I actually felt like that snake was flirting with us."
It suddenly shook its head; was that an invitation?
Harry didn't think that meant anything, and said, "Maybe it just suddenly wanted to shake."
Lin Xia, however, thought Ron's guess was correct. The snake kept glancing at the two snail-goat beasts. Could it be that it wanted the snail-goat beasts to become its "subjects"?
To be honest, these pets probably lost their minds after taking the charm potion, and started to revel in the worship of other species, wanting to tame more pets.
Lin Xia gently shook her head. Let the Weasley twins deal with the trouble they've caused themselves.
But one thing is certain: this pet beauty potion may not be completely banned.
With some modifications, it might be able to be developed into a mature drug and launched in the laboratory.
The chaos at the pet ball continued until a student ran out of the ball to report to the professors that the pets in the auditorium had gone mad, and the professors rushed to the auditorium to end the commotion.
This time, the four deans simply waved their wands, and the frenzied pets immediately stopped in their tracks and froze in place.
During this process, the professors' magic did not affect any of the students.
The four deans also saw Lin Xia and were quite surprised by her appearance.
The professors first placed the pets that caused the cholera outbreak—those that had taken the charm potion—in a separate location before lifting the stagnation of the normal pets.
Without the source of cholera, the pets returned to normal.
This is quite surprising; as long as the pets don't see the charm potion, they remain unaffected. Therefore, the charm potion the Weasley twins are researching must be transmitted visually, rather than through deeper pheromones.
However, once an animal has its eye on a pet it wants, it can use other means such as smell and hearing to find it, rather than relying entirely on sight.
"Lin Xia, come with me."
With the source of cholera gone, the pet dance was held again, this time in a much more harmonious atmosphere.
Ron travels the world with his two snail-goat creatures, looking for friends and introducing them to others along the way.
Ron thinks the snail-sheep beast has a high chance of winning, so he's campaigning for votes with others.
The listless Hedwig regained her spirits, her sharp eyes scanning the entire room as if searching for her prey.
Lin Xia originally intended to stay at the ball to observe the condition of the two snail-like creatures and be able to handle any unexpected incidents promptly.
Suddenly, a voice came to her mind; it was Professor McGonagall's voice. She was called outside.
As I walked out of the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall was already waiting at the end.
She saw Lin Xia, nodded to her, and continued walking without saying a word.
Lin Xia followed behind her, turning left and right, and soon entered another enclosed, partitioned space.
Lin Xia then realized that Hogwarts was not as simple as she had imagined. What appeared to be one thing was actually a hidden space with many secret compartments.
These spaces require certain conditions to be met or spells to be cast in order to enter.
So far, she hasn't seen how the professors got in; perhaps they cast some kind of spell beforehand.
This is the most reliable guess.
If certain conditions must be met to enter, then how come she has never been able to enter these compartmentalized spaces despite walking through them so many times before?
Upon entering the enclosed space, the four deans gathered together again, making no attempt to hide their curiosity.
Dean Sprout went even further, asking directly, "Lin Xia, how did you resolve the issue of your aura? Didn't you say it was an aura that naturally emanated from you, one that you couldn't conceal?"
Whether it's promoting the alchemy glasses or popularizing the knowledge-based puzzle games, Lin Xia needs to be involved; they can't let Lin Xia stay in one place forever.
In order to resolve the issue of her bloodline aura, they searched through many ancient books over the past few days and summarized several methods.
However, all of those methods carry significant risks.
Therefore, the four deans were unsure whether or not to use it.
Unexpectedly, Lin Xia appeared in the auditorium at this time, perfectly fine, to attend the pet dance party.
How amazing that sounds!
The pets and young wizards gathered in the auditorium were all indifferent to Lin Xia's appearance.
This is a completely different reaction from when Lin Xia participated in the weekend book club before.
Snape stared at Lin Xia for a while, then frowned. "What's that smell on you? It's so foul, and it has that sweet and bitter smell of poison."
Moreover, in my perception, the aura emanating from you is still terrifying, and I am extremely wary of you. How come the junior wizards can't detect it?
Lin Xia took out a black pill.
"I was able to block the little wizard's perception of me, not because I made any changes myself. It was by using an external object to reduce the little wizard's sensitivity to my aura."
The professors could still sense my presence, which only means that this pill can only be used on low-level wizards, and has no effect on high-level wizards.
She smiled softly, as if she had thought of something.
"I have to thank the Weasley twins for giving me the inspiration to develop this thing."
They came out briefly while developing a certain drug, and didn't notice me sitting on the sofa. That's when I realized that their experimental product could mask my presence.
They agreed to let me access their experimental logs. I selected several medicinal herbs and combined them using special techniques to mask my information.
"However, time was a bit tight, and some of the medicinal ingredients hadn't been analyzed yet. This black pill has a lot of room for improvement."
The professors stared at Lin Xia, unsure of what to say.
You could say she was lucky, but she didn't find a fundamental way to resolve her own aura.
You could say she was unlucky, but she did manage to find some unconventional methods—
Since you can't hide your own aura, then hide the five senses of others.
The key point is that this was not something she actively researched; it was someone else who did the research, and she noticed the additional effects that led her to develop a completely new research direction.
Lin Xia's impact on the professors didn't stop there.
After hearing her solution, Snape scoffed, "It's just a temporary fix!"
Lin Xia said the next second, "But this method can be extended to other fields."
Everyone else told me that I had a terrifying aura, and that seeing me was like seeing some ancient behemoth.
The scent emanating from this black pill allows them to block their senses from me. Does that mean that when encountering a powerful creature or person, the young wizards can also use this method to block their senses from that person?
When the aura loses its intimidating power, what remains is its original form, without any filters or enhancements. There is no longer any influence from any atmosphere.
I think this will allow young wizards to confront what they perceive as terrifying, and then let them see the world as it truly is.
Lin Xia's words were a bit convoluted, but everyone understood what she was trying to say.
This means that the black pills can be deployed into the battlefield of the evil god's world. Without that repulsive and terrifying aura, wouldn't it be easier for wizards to deal with the evil god?
The professors had no idea that they needed to conduct a series of experiments.
However, the results of Lin Xia's experiment already satisfied them.
They were very confident in this, truly believing that the black pill had great potential.
Ultimately, however, this black pill is only effective against low-level wizards; high-level wizards can still immediately sense that something is wrong with Lin Xia's aura.
Solving Lin Xia's abnormal aura is an urgent matter.
After all, when Lin Xia goes out to promote her work, she can't possibly only encounter lower-grade wizards.
After thinking for a while, McGonagall told Lin Xia about the methods they had collected over the past few days.
Lin Xia shook her head as soon as she heard some of the methods.
The methods recorded in ancient books may have been useful at that time, but they are now completely unsuitable for the wizarding world.
Moreover, some of the materials required for these methods were ones she had never even heard of, suggesting they were extinct in the witch world.
After listening to various suggestions, she concluded that reading books in the restricted area to find a solution was the most reliable and suited her best. (End of Chapter)
