Chapter 303 Extra Chapter 2: Su Ma and the Rebellious Xi Zai (Part 3)
Later, the orphanage received an old piano as a gift, but none of the teachers at the orphanage knew how to play it. At this moment, Su Qinqin came out, scratched her head, and said with a silly smile, "Well, actually I'm a level 10 pianist."

Later, this piano almost became Su Qinqin's exclusive property. When she played the piano, she was completely different from her usual clumsy self; she seemed to be radiating light.

It was from that time that Tang Zhiyi began to become curious about Su Qinqin, realizing that she knew too little about her.

Su Qinqin was completely unguarded with her, answering all her questions. The social skills she had to navigate so carefully at school were completely useless in front of Su Qinqin. Even when Tang Zhiyi spoke to her in the worst possible tone, she never held a grudge. Later, Tang Zhiyi learned that Su Qinqin's mother was a piano artist, and she had learned to play the piano from her mother, while her father was a piano repairman.

Tang Zhiyi: "?"

She thought that this might be why Su Qinqin always harbored a pure and beautiful fantasy about love.

She asked, "So where are they now?"

Su Qinqin sighed: "Maybe in another world."

Tang Zhiyi, feeling mature enough, did not ask any further questions.

Once again, after Su Qinqin finished playing the piano for the children, Tang Zhiyi suddenly asked, "Can I try?"

Then she sat in Su Qinqin's seat, and after only learning it once, she was able to replicate most of the melody.

Su Qinqin stood there stunned for a full minute.

"...So there really are geniuses in the world!"

Later, Su Qinqin gave her extra lessons, and after learning the piano, she became interested in other musical instruments. However, the orphanage didn't have enough funds to cover these additional expenses, so they had to pay for them themselves. Su Qinqin took on freelance gigs while also working part-time at a piano training class, and Tang Zhiyi also tried participating in some youth piano competitions to win prize money.

She won a silver medal in her first competition. One judge even argued with the others, believing she should have been the champion. The judge said her piece possessed a proud, solitary soul, while the other contestants only had form, not substance. Unfortunately, she ultimately lost first place due to insufficient technical skill.

Tang Zhiyi has always been very strict with herself. Even though Su Qinqin used an encouraging teaching method, she forced herself to always strive for first place and never second. After that, she began to practice her skills diligently. Some children complained that she monopolized the public piano, but she appeased them by buying snacks with her first prize money. After she started learning piano with Su Qinqin, many other children wanted to learn from her, but most of them would only play a few notes for fun and then move on to something else after failing to learn.

Soon her skills became more and more proficient, and she won the gold medal in the competition the following year. On the day she won the award, Su Qinqin gave her a kitten that looked a lot like the cat doll she held in her arms when she first went to the orphanage. She named it Peanut.

Su Qinqin: "Because of the good news peanut?"

Tang Zhiyi: "Because I want to eat peanuts."

Su Qinqin: "...Okay, that works too."

Then that very night, a bag of multi-flavored peanuts was placed in Tang Zhiyi's room.

Su Qinqin deeply believed that Tang Zhiyi was a musical genius and fully supported her in pursuing music. In the end, Tang Zhiyi did learn many musical instruments and even began to try composing. One of the pieces she composed was for Su Qinqin, who almost burst into tears after listening to it.

Unfortunately, pursuing an artistic path requires a huge financial investment, especially learning a musical instrument. Youth competitions have age requirements, meaning participants become ineligible after a few years, and other high-level competitions have numerous complicated and varied entry barriers. In the end, Tang Zhiyi voluntarily gave up.

In the past few years, in order to help Tang Zhiyi learn musical instruments, Su Qinqin worked several part-time jobs at the same time, and her health almost collapsed. She didn't want Su Qinqin to burn herself out to light up her future.

“Anyway, my grades are very good,” Tang Zhiyi thought that showing off was more effective than comforting, and she made no attempt to hide her confidence and pride. “You have to believe that I will have a bright future no matter which path I take.”

"Besides, I don't like music as much as you think. It's just a hobby at most. I can't bear to spend my whole life on it."

Later, Tang Zhiyi indeed lived up to her words, consistently ranking among the top students in her grade. In a time when most people experience feelings of inferiority and sensitivity during adolescence, she became the envy of everyone: beautiful, academically gifted, and talented. Moreover, she was incredibly approachable; both boys and girls felt a strange protective instinct towards her. Even after her orphanage background was discovered, no one looked down on her because of it; instead, they found her incredibly inspiring.

Later, when she went to university, there was a scene where she transmigrated into the book. Tang Zhiyi, from a third-person perspective, saw how Su Qinqin searched for medical treatment everywhere, took meticulous care of her, and stayed by her bedside every night during the time she was unconscious after transmigrating into the book...

Later, Tang Zhiyi started working and thrived in her career, in the prime of her life, while Su Qinqin grew older day by day. From the time she met Su Qinqin, she had always been a pure and innocent heroine, yearning for love as if living in a romance novel. However, she never married. As she grew older, she could no longer work at the welfare home, so Tang Zhiyi bought her a house to live in. Later still, Su Qinqin could no longer even live in the house Tang Zhiyi had bought for her and had to live in the hospital.

Both of them were alone and helpless in this world. Later, Su Qinqin became seriously ill, and Tang Zhiyi was afraid that she might leave her one day. At this moment, she suddenly remembered that she and Su Qinqin had never had any real relationship.

Su Qinqin was just a teacher who took care of her at the orphanage, and she was just a child she took care of at the orphanage. It seemed that there was no difference between them and other teachers and children.

She didn't even know what role she should play in mourning Su Qinqin if she really passed away.

After becoming an adult, Tang Zhiyi opened her own household registration. Now, Tang Zhiyi needs to register Su Qinqin's household registration together with hers. Su Qinqin's condition is very serious, and she has difficulty staying conscious. She can only borrow some documents from the welfare home where she has spent most of her life.

After explaining their purpose, the old dean was quite surprised.

"Didn't you know?" She took out a thick notebook and showed it to Tang Zhiyi. "Ten years ago, she had already completed the adoption procedures for you."

Tang Zhiyi stared at the adoption information page, speechless for a moment, her mind a jumbled mess.

Ten years ago, it seems like it was around the time she started insisting on learning a musical instrument...

"At that time, she insisted that you were a musical genius and that we couldn't let your talent go to waste. She wanted to support you in learning music, but how could our orphanage afford that? In the end, she said that she would cover the expenses herself, but she was, after all, a teacher at the orphanage. If the other children knew that she was so biased towards you, what would they think?"
The controversy ultimately ended with her agreeing to adopt you, which silenced the others.

It was only then that Tang Zhiyi realized that the favoritism she had been trying to prove all along truly existed. Her relationship with Su Qinqin was no longer that of a simple teacher and student. To Su Qinqin, and to Su Qinqin, they were both the most special people in the world. Their relationship had long surpassed anything that could be described by their current identities. She was the person in the world most qualified to mourn her.

So it turns out that Su Qinqin's promise to never abandon her was true.

……

Tang Zhiyi watched her and Su Qinqin's life together from a third-party perspective, and felt as if she had lived another lifetime.

Before the age of six, Tang Zhiyi felt only hatred for the world.

She hated her parents' favoritism, hated that her younger brother got everything, hated that she wasn't a boy, hated her own incompetence even more, hated the injustice of fate. Like a hedgehog, she raised all her sharp quills and indiscriminately stabbed everyone who came near her.

Until that day, a woman, disregarding her thorns, resolutely embraced her.

Her embrace was so warm, her voice so gentle. With unwavering love and patience, she slowly melted away all her thorns. She still had her edges, but she would no longer attack anyone proactively. ...The little girl abandoned by her biological parents, clutching a tattered doll, was gradually transformed by her into a confident, proud, and radiant little princess.

She wanted to say that she loved her very much, but what came out of her mouth was: "You will leave me one day, and when you leave, no one will love me."

How selfish! More than Su Qinqin's life, she was afraid that no one would love her.

But Su Qinqin told her, "In the future, Xiaoxi will definitely meet someone who loves you even more than I do. He will stay with you in my place until either of your lives comes to an end."

Now, she has actually encountered it.

Tang Zhiyi returned to the three-story villa she shared with Fu Linchuan.

She looked out the window; it was already daylight outside.

(End of the article)

This extra chapter about Su Qinqin is a bit longer because I felt the main story didn't cover Su Qinqin enough, so I added more slice-of-life scenes in the extra chapter.
Now that the two side stories are finished, this book is officially complete! To be honest, I feel this book wasn't written very well. Many plot points didn't develop as I initially envisioned; many deviated significantly from my original plan. Initially, I wanted more of the reunion process between the two main characters, more of a back-and-forth, the kind where they both have feelings for each other but just can't be together, a bittersweet, ambiguous relationship. But, as I wrote, I shifted the focus to the female lead's career. Then, for the second part, I really only intended to write one sentence, thinking it would end quickly, but it ended up being so drawn out, and the scenes between the male and female leads felt rushed. Readers might have noticed that I included a scumbag in both parts. I wanted to make the slap-in-the-face parts more satisfying, but for some reason, I felt it wasn't satisfying enough. Maybe the angst before the slap-in-the-face wasn't intense enough? After finishing this book, I've reflected and summarized a lot. The most important thing is to update more regularly (apologies in advance).

I've had the idea for my next story for a while now, but based on my experience with this one, I feel it needs further polishing, and more importantly, I need to build up a better draft! So I don't know when it will be officially published. Looking forward to seeing you all again!
