Chapter 1328. The Crimson Farm (1)

Wen Yang was stunned for a moment, then laughed.

“I heard about her breakup from my family. I never even saw her. She left right after the breakup and went abroad.”

So it turns out her sweetheart went abroad, which is why she came to Yu Chen to fill the emotional void!

Although Lin Xi thought this way, she didn't say it.

Actually, she was just thinking about it casually.

Wen Yang isn't particularly handsome, but he's not ugly either.

There must have been girls who liked him in high school, so it's not necessarily true that if he lost Yun Ling, he would only be able to come to Yu Chen.

Besides, even if you really want to fill the emotional void, you don't need to come here to study!

Thinking like that is not fair to Wen Yang.

That's not fair to Yu Chen either.

Lin Xi decided to stop interfering in their affairs and let them handle it themselves.

It's almost time; they should prepare to enter the instance.

The moment the feeling of weightlessness dissipated, the first thing Lin Xi felt was not the stability of being grounded, but a sticky warmth, and... a clearly discernible pulse.

She suddenly opened her eyes, and all she could see was an endless expanse of dark red ground. The surface was covered with a thin, moist, glistening membrane, and each pulsation was accompanied by a slight tremor that spread throughout her body, making her stomach churn.

"Ugh—" came a suppressed retching sound from beside me.

Lin Xi turned her head to look.

A girl was trying to get up, supporting herself on the "ground". Her face was pale, her brows were furrowed, and her eyes were full of fear and discomfort.

"Be careful, don't use too much force," Yu Chen said, his voice calm and even.

It has to be Yu Chen. As expected of a doctor, he remained calm even in such a bizarre situation.

Wen Yang was already kneeling on the ground, looking down at the strange "fertile soil" beneath his feet.

His movements carried a youthful tension; his fingertips curled slightly as he lightly touched the mucous membrane, and his forehead was damp with cold sweat. Yet, his eyes were exceptionally sharp as he quickly scanned his surroundings, capturing every unusual detail.

Although not as composed as an adult, she possesses a keenness beyond her years.

Lin Xi took a deep breath, forcing herself to suppress her physical discomfort, and slowly sat up, supporting herself on the ground.

The touch from my fingertips was delicate and elastic, with a faint, sweet, metallic scent, like the smell of diluted blood.

She raised her hand and saw a layer of transparent, sticky liquid on her fingertips, which shimmered faintly in the dim light. With a gentle rub, it dissipated into the air without leaving a trace.

—Holy crap, what is this thing? It looks disgusting.

—It looks like the ground is stained with blood.

—It wasn't blood, it looked like the internal organs of something.

—Internal organs?
—No way, 600 players inside a giant animal?

—Take a good look, how can there be a building inside its belly?

Lin Xi's heart sank when he caught a glimpse of the words "600 players".

With so many players, it's likely to be a dungeon with a high mortality rate.

She stopped paying attention to the ground and looked up into the distance.

The dim sky had a somber gray-purple hue. There was no sun or moon in sight, only scattered specks of light, emitting a faint blue-green glow, suspended in mid-air, barely illuminating the surroundings.

Illuminated by those points of light, she saw rows of blood-red buildings standing in the distance. The buildings were extremely bizarre in shape, lacking regular outlines, and looked more like they were built from congealed blood, with uneven surfaces covered with raised patterns resembling blood vessels.

Some buildings resemble twisted towers, with thick blood vessels wrapped around their tops, from which dark red liquid flows intermittently.

Some resemble giant domes, their surfaces covered with irregular holes through which shimmering blue-green light can be faintly seen.

Some buildings are directly rooted in this dark red ground, connected to the surrounding vein-like patterns, as if they were part of this giant organ.

“Those are…fungi?” Wen Yang’s voice carried a hint of uncertainty as he pointed to the area around the building.

Lin Xi looked in the direction he pointed and saw large patches of luminescent fungi growing at the base and around the blood-red building.

The caps of these fungi are a vibrant blue-green with fluorescent edges, while the stems are translucent white with tiny specks of light moving inside.

They covered the ground, making the blood-red buildings appear even more eerie and adding a touch of the supernatural to this dimly lit area.

Just then, Lin Xi caught a glimpse of other figures around her out of the corner of her eye.

She turned her neck and carefully observed her surroundings, discovering that besides the three of them, there were many other people scattered on the dark red ground.

Including the girl who just gagged.

Most of these people, like them, had just gotten up from the ground. Some stood there bewildered, while others, like Wen Yang, observed their surroundings.

"Six hundred?" Yu Chen saw the comments in his live stream, his brows furrowing slightly, but his tone remained calm. "With so many people and the rules unclear, it's easy for chaos to break out. We need to figure out the rules as soon as possible to avoid being affected by the commotion caused by others."

Wen Yang's brows furrowed even more, his tone carrying a hint of youthful urgency.

"Now is not the time to worry about chaos; the priority is to find the rules."

No one has come out to guide them yet, and there's no electronic voice prompt, so they'll most likely have to find the clues to pass the level on their own.

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Xi noticed a black countdown box suddenly appearing in the corner of the live stream screen.

The countdown timer was small and its color was similar to the dark background, so it would have been easy to miss if she hadn't been watching the live stream closely.

"Look at the corner of the live stream!" Lin Xi immediately reminded him.

Upon hearing this, Yu Chen and Wen Yang immediately looked at their respective live streams.

The white text inside the black countdown box is clearly visible: [Still: 9 seconds].

Yu Chen's eyes darkened slightly. He didn't ask any more questions, but quickly pondered the meaning of "stillness," his fingertips unconsciously remaining motionless.

--still?!

—Does this mean the player has to stay still for 9 seconds and not move?

—Possibly! But is there a difference between "still" and "unmoved"?
—Who knows! Stop right now and don't move around, or something bad will happen!

Lin Xi and the other two immediately held their breath and remained standing still.

[Stillness: 8 seconds]

[Stillness: 7 seconds]

She moved her fingers slightly.

The countdown paused briefly, and only resumed when she came to a complete stop.

“Did you guys see the countdown? It stopped for a moment when I moved just now,” Lin Xi said immediately.

Yu Chen and Wen Yang immediately moved.

“I also think that stillness isn’t what we initially understood as immobility,” Wen Yang said, then moved his fingers again. “My countdown has stopped.”
