The Best Actor in the Vase of Meiyu
Chapter 1003 Going into battle in person
Chapter 1003 Going into battle in person
There is no doubt that the filming of "Spider-Man 2" posed a difficult problem to the crew, including the props team, set team, action stunt team, computer special effects team, actor team, etc.
Sam Raimi conceived a magnificent and wonderful fight scene, and the crew believed that once it was filmed, it would definitely shock the audience; but the key point was, how to film it? How to turn imagination into reality? How to transform the impossible into a movie?
This is precisely an important sign of the maturity of Hollywood genre films. They are always able to find ways to accomplish impossible tasks and continue to dream.
"Anson, are you sure?" Alfred looked at Anson in front of him, and there was still some worry in his eyes.
In fact, Spider-Man wore a mask throughout the entire film, and the audience could not see his face at all. In addition, the fighting scenes were mixed with computer special effects, making it even more difficult to distinguish. There was no problem in using a stuntman to shoot these scenes.
However, Anson still insisted on doing the stunts himself, completing the stunts within his ability, and only leaving the difficult moves to professionals.
Alfred did not hide his surprise.
"If I didn't need to show up all the time, I wouldn't want to stand here and suffer." Alfred complained.
Doctor Octopus also has a stunt double, but the problem is that he doesn't have a mask and his face is exposed most of the time, so Alfred still needs to do it himself.
Fortunately, Doctor Octopus himself is rather clumsy, and the difficulty of the action scenes lies entirely in the octopus's tentacles, so Alfred doesn't need to worry about his own flexibility.
Anson was amused. "I guess that's the price of being an actor, right? You can't just sit there with a check of several million dollars and let these guys with two zeros less in their salary rush to the front line, right?"
There was a hint of admiration in Alfred's eyes, but his words were teasing, "Several million dollars? It should be more than that."
Anson spread his hands, "So it's even more necessary to be dedicated."
"Haha." Alfred laughed directly, "Not all actors are like this."
"Cough cough Johnny Depp cough cough." On the side, the stuntman who was preparing coughed violently and made a vague complaint.
However, after Anson and Alfred both looked over, he put on an innocent look again, as if he had no idea what was going on.
Anson laughed dumbly. "See, I did this to avoid this kind of thing. Besides, the director also wants me to do it myself. Even though I can't see my face, my body shape, movements, and habits are still different."
"That's why I received professional kung fu training in the first place."
"Aren't you right, Director?"
He simply shouted the last sentence towards the monitor.
Sam: Ahem. Ahem.
Choked on saliva.
Whether you are willing to admit it or not, the fact is that Sam is very demanding. Since the first film in the series, Sam has hoped that the actors can perform well. It is not a prejudice or a special requirement, but simply for the effect of the film. He hopes that the film can meet his own standards.
This time, because of the ubiquitous pressure, Sam's requirements were stricter and more demanding, and he wanted perfection. The highlight in front of him reached its climax. When he was still on the New York set, Sam had already begun preparations and started sand table performance, demanding every detail with a perfect attitude.
Although Sam didn't say it directly, his attitude was definitely there -
He hoped that Anson could personally complete the filming of the main action scenes.
Those manners, habits, and body shapes do convey a different look and feel; moreover, those fighting scenes are also part of the performance, Spider-Man's urgency and anxiety, struggle and pain objectively exist and are conveyed through his body language, laying the foundation for the texture of the scene. Anson naturally has an aura that belongs to him, and Sam needs Anson to be 100% committed to the role of Peter Parker.
Not only does he want to fight in person, he also hopes that Anson can give it his all.
At this moment, being pointed out by Anson, Sam looked a little embarrassed, which was rare to be seen.
After coughing twice, Sam lowered his voice but still said what he needed to say, "That check may be bigger than you think."
Roar, roar, roar. In an instant, there was a commotion.
Anson, who was the target of ridicule, did not mind. He spread his hands and said calmly, "It seems that 100% of my energy is not enough today. I need at least 120%. For the sake of the check, I will try my best to squeeze in."
Hahaha.
The whole audience burst into laughter.
Anson seemed particularly calm. He looked at the two stuntmen next to Alfred and said, "To ensure a smooth filming, shall we practice the sequence of moves again? I don't mind if you take this opportunity to squeeze me a little."
The atmosphere is full of joy.
So, how should "Spider-Man VS Doctor Octopus" be filmed?
The answer is a combination of the real and the virtual.
At this moment, Alfred was wearing a piece of equipment similar to a backpack, with a suction cup on the back and metallic tentacles extending out from his limbs.
Pure props.
The material is so light that even an ordinary child can lift it, not to mention an adult. This ensures that Alfred can still walk flexibly after carrying the equipment, so as not to affect his performance.
At the same time, the tentacles can extend and retract freely, simulating the appearance of real metal tentacles; the difference is that two stuntmen are required to operate them.
The two people are wearing green tights that cover them from head to toe, so they can be easily erased in post-production.
Two people stood on the left and right behind Alfred, each responsible for two tentacles, and they controlled the tentacles to fight Anson.
In other words, it was indeed a "three-headed, six-armed" situation, with Anson facing three people alone.
The key lies in the cooperation of four people. Not only Anson and Alfred need to cooperate in the scene, but the control routes of the two stuntmen also need to be coordinated. Only when the four people work together can the filming of this scene be completed.
In this way, it is responsible for taking panoramic and close-up shots.
The close-up part needs to be taken out separately, with the stuntman controlling a tentacle to engage in a desperate fight with Anson, so that the camera can capture the details of the face-to-face collision. The entire shooting needs to keep a clear mind and put all the images from different camera positions and tracks into the lens.
In other words, the director must have the picture and rhythm in his mind.
Not only the actors, but also the props team, photography team and computer special effects team were all on standby at the scene to ensure that the captured images met the requirements.
Obviously, this and "elephant" are two completely different shooting methods.
But the amazing thing is that both the "Elephant" and "Spider-Man 2" crews need rehearsals, coordination, and the entire crew to work together.
Anson was no stranger to this matter.
Rehearsals were repeated over and over again, and the actors needed to coordinate with each other, and more importantly, they needed to coordinate with the camera's movement route.
In real life, running at full speed means running at full speed, but in movies, running at full speed requires control because the actors and the camera must interact, which is the only way to present wonderful shots.
After many rehearsals, the crew was finally ready.
The next step is to enter actual combat.
"Start shooting!"
