Chapter 1497 Stunned
Standing outside Hollywood, you can often see fairy tales being played out and miracles of overnight success.

When I entered Hollywood, I realized that those fairy tales and miracles can be seen because of their rarity. Even Hollywood is shocked by them, so they are covered in spotlights; those that are not seen are hidden in dark corners and will never be seen.

The cruel reality is that the spotlight is just a small part, and outside the spotlight is endless darkness.

Exhaling lightly, Alfonso gathered up his scattered emotions, tried to cheer himself up, and comforted himself that at least he wouldn't starve to death.

He needed to clear his mind of the cluttered thoughts and not dwell on the rut of self-doubt.

Then Alfonso threw the cereal bowl into the sink, dug out his notebook, and started working at his desk.

When immersed in those technical research, he can temporarily clear his mind and focus completely on the world of film and explore those interesting unknowns.

Alfonso's personal favorite part is studying the relationship between characters and space, how to construct the environment in a small shot and find the position of the characters in the environment, showing the impact of space on characters and the status of characters in space. This is a fascinating set of relationships.

At moments like this, Alfonso knew that he still loved movies.

Although he has a lot of confusion now, he will not blame the movie. Maybe this is a process of growing and learning that he needs to complete on his own.

knock knock.

There was a knock on the door, breaking the silence of the apartment.

At first, Alfonso didn't hear it because there were almost no visitors to the apartment.

This was his second time to venture into Hollywood, but he was still an unknown little director. The success of "Tu Mama Titania" did not drastically change his financial situation. Living in a high-consumption and high-expenditure city like Los Angeles, Alfonso was only temporarily not starving.

So, his wife and children remained in Mexico, and he came to Los Angeles alone and rented a studio apartment.

With no family or friends, and located in the heart of Los Angeles, the hustle and bustle of Vanity Fair seemed like another world that had nothing to do with him.

knock knock.

There was another knock on the door, and Alfonso finally realized that someone was knocking on his door.

There was a hint of confusion in Alfonso's eyes, "Could it be Guillermo?"

But...it's early in the morning, Guillermo should still be sleeping in.

With some doubts, Alfonso stood up and trotted towards the door of the room, but did not open the door immediately. Instead, he looked out through the peephole.

Standing outside was a young man wearing a baseball cap. He was so tall that the cat's eye could only see the lower half of his cheek and collarbone. But even though his entire face could not be seen clearly, his jawline was just as familiar.

After all, this face is everywhere in Los Angeles. It would be strange if you didn't recognize it, right?

Alfonso: ???

Alfonso's eyes were filled with doubt, and he even began to doubt his own eyes.

Did you really not recognize the wrong person?

Cautiously and hesitantly opening the door, Alfonso poked his head out from behind the door panel, leaning from bottom to top, trying to see the facial features clearly, and a big smile bloomed at the corners of his mouth.

"Hey, good morning, Mr. Alfonso Cuarón."

heh.

Alfonso took a deep breath, and his thoughts froze for a moment. His first subconscious reaction was, "Why are you here?" The visitor chuckled, "I recently read a script, 'Children of Men'? It's your adaptation work. I personally like this project very much, so I want to ask if you are willing to let Forest Pictures take over this project?"

Alfonso was stunned and subconsciously followed the other party's words and answered, "But the copyright belongs to Warner Bros., you should ask their opinion."

The visitor was not discouraged. "I personally think that the opinions of the production company are only one aspect. The opinions of the director are also very important. After all, the production company is only responsible for profit calculations and a bunch of numerical issues. As for matters of artistic creation, we still need to ask the director."

"In fact, Warner Bros. has already agreed, but I still think I need to ask the director, are you willing to cooperate with Jungle Pictures?"

"There are also some details, such as what does the director think of the male lead candidate?"

Alfonso's brain had already stopped working, his thoughts were being led by the nose, "Like who?"

The visitor smiled faintly, a little shyly, "Anson Wood?"

Alfonso: ...

Who am I where am I what are we doing.

Everything was a mess, confusing and puzzling. He didn't even have time to be shocked or stunned. His face was completely bewildered.

The visitor did not get a response, and the smile on his face rose a little. "Sorry, is the time for my visit wrong? If it is not convenient now, I can come another day; or I can leave my contact information, and when you are ready, we can come again..."

It was not until now that Alfonso realized that they had been standing at the door and talking. "Oh, please come in, please come in, please." His head kept reminding himself that he should apologize, but when he turned around and saw the messy bachelor apartment, he quickly picked up all the clothes and garbage he could see.

However, he was so flustered that he almost fell headfirst onto the sofa.

It was so embarrassing.

Alfonso casually threw the things in his hand into the corner, turned around panting, and saw a young man standing politely at the door. He did not come in rashly or look around. This made Alfonso's embarrassment ease a little, and he let out a long breath.

"Sorry, please forgive my impoliteness..."

The young man waved his hands and said, "No, it's my fault. I need to make an appointment in advance. At least I should notify you in advance. It's not polite to just come to your house and visit you."

“But please forgive my aggressiveness because I really like this project.”

"Look at me, I haven't formally introduced myself yet, Anson Wood."

Finally, the young man took a step forward, stretched out his right hand with a smile, and looked at Alfonso with bright eyes.

Alfonso stared at the face blankly, "Alfonso Cuarón." After a pause, he still hesitated, "So you are really Anson Wood?"

Anson chuckled and said, "Yes. But I don't rule out the possibility that there may be someone with the same name in Hollywood. Maybe one of your friends has the same name?"

Alfonso's eyes widened. "No, no no no, of course not, I just... I mean... no, I didn't mean anything in particular."

Take a deep breath, "Okay (Bien)."

Without warning, Alfonso blurted out something in Spanish, without any context.

Although Anson accurately recognized the Spanish sentence from the original owner's memory, he did not understand what Alfonso meant by this sentence and his face was full of confusion.

Alfonso was stunned and said subconsciously, "Cooperation. I mean, no problem, it's my pleasure, I'm willing, one hundred, one thousand times willing."
