Chapter 1846 Full of Anticipation

Chapter 1846 Full of Anticipation
What a surprise!
Anne knew that Anson was working, and that filming the movie and maintaining his character were the most important things right now, so she didn't plan to disrupt Anson's routine. She just wanted a small party, no alcohol, no revelry, and no guests, just her, a gift, and a cake.

this is all.

Anne has attended many surprise parties in her life, but organizing and planning one is a first for her, and she is actually quite nervous.

My heart was pounding, the air was thin, and I felt like I couldn't get enough oxygen no matter how I breathed. I was worried that arriving in London early might lead to being spotted by paparazzi, revealing my whereabouts, and causing the surprise party to fail. So I made sure to arrive at Heathrow Airport today.

They raced all the way, keeping a tight schedule.

Now, with jet lag, long-haul flights, and last-minute party preparations, everything is a chaotic mess.

But because of Noah's recklessness, Anne, who was initially extremely nervous, became calm and composed, regaining control of the situation and clearing her mind.

Seeing Noah's flustered state, Annie smiled. "Don't worry, the surprise is here. It's okay if there's no party."

Noah was puzzled, his head filled with questions.

Anne: "Me."

As he spoke, he gestured to himself and realized that he was wearing a T-shirt, jeans, and canvas shoes, the perfect comfortable outfit for a long-haul transoceanic flight.

Annie grinned. "No, that's not it. It'll be different after you change your clothes."

"In short, Anson definitely doesn't know I'm in London. Even if the surprise party doesn't go on, or if Anson finds out beforehand, it doesn't matter, because Anson will definitely be shocked to see me here."

"what!"

Just imagining Anson's utterly bewildered expression makes one's heart soar, and one feels eager and ready to give it a try.

Noah shook his head repeatedly, like a rattle-drum, "That's true, but since everything is ready, the surprise has to be there, otherwise all your hard work flying here for over ten hours would be wasted."

"Hurry, hurry, we can do it!"

Noah took the lead, and Annie's steps became lighter and more joyful. She tiptoed and ran out of the elevator to catch up with him.

The apartments, arranged in neat rows of dark blue, lime, and jet black, exude a sense of calm and grandeur. The simple and clean space is almost devoid of any decoration, and a cool and lonely atmosphere permeates the slightly chilly air.

This space felt somewhat unfamiliar to Annie, as it differed from the Anson she remembered.

Noah seemed to sense Anne's confusion. "Mr. Wood said he needed to get into character, and the apartment's decor was chosen to match the character's temperament."

Anne suddenly realized what was going on and looked at him again.

Noah added, "So Mr. Wood refused his family's help. Mr. Charles Wood was going to come to London to help with the renovations, but he was turned down."

Although Noah had no such intention, Anne imagined the scene: Anson was completely indifferent to these details of life, and his apartments in New York and Los Angeles were all decorated and furnished by Charles. No wonder he now seemed out of place in London, as if it were a completely different space.

Imagine Anson's family nagging and his nonchalant attitude; that's probably why his London apartment is completely out of sync with his style.

puff.

Unable to hold back, Annie chuckled softly.

Noah stopped in his tracks. "Miss Hathaway, what's wrong?"

Annie waved her hands repeatedly, "It's okay, it's okay. Let's start preparing right away."

Noah didn't press further. Since Annie said everything was fine, then everything must be fine. "Please wait a moment, I'll bring out the props now."

Noah rushed into the room on his left. Annie looked around, searching for the bathroom, when she heard a series of clattering noises coming from inside. She instinctively turned and looked over, then called out in surprise, "Noah?"

“I’m fine. I’m perfectly fine,” Noah replied loudly.

Then, there was another clanging sound.

Anne paused, then raised her voice again, asking, "Noah, are you sure?"

Annie took a step forward, ready to check, but Noah had already staggered out. She couldn't see him at all; instead, there was a huge brown cardboard box in front of her. Noah's tall and strong figure was completely hidden by the box, making it look as if the box was pushing itself forward.

It's a little scary.

Annie opened her mouth slightly, watching the walking cardboard box appear in front of her, trying to say something, but all the words got stuck in her throat.

Noah slowly moved the cardboard box back into the hall, then turned around and leaned it against the wall. He turned back to Annie, his face flushed and covered in sweat, wiping the sweat that kept dripping from his forehead.

Anne was dumbfounded. She quickly took out a pack of tissues from her handbag and handed it to Noah.

Noah beamed, "Look, everything is ready!"

Anne: ...

Although Annie really didn't want to dampen Noah's enthusiasm, but... "Noah, this cardboard box is even taller and bigger than you."

Noah: "Yes, I found the largest size refrigerator box, making sure I can fit it in without any problems."

Anne: "...Of course, I'm sure I can squeeze in without any trouble, but then how am I supposed to get out, or how will Anson open the box?"

Noah's smile froze on his lips; he was stunned.

Anne had different ideas for the surprise party. The simplest and most basic was to decorate the room with balloons, flowers, sequins, and so on. Then she would invite a group of friends to hide in the apartment, and when Anson returned home after a long day of filming, everyone would suddenly appear and shout—

"surprise!"

But that's too ordinary and boring.

Firstly, the news might leak out too early; secondly, it would require a lot of manpower and resources; and thirdly, it might interfere with Anson's work, since if friends get together, they're bound to get drunk.

Anne's idea was to bring a surprise, but not too much of a celebration, so as to avoid affecting Anson's work schedule as much as possible; a small celebration would be fine.

Finally, Annie came up with an idea, a similarly clichéd but even simpler one.

They placed a box in the center of the living room, without decorating the room or inviting friends. Everything was as usual. When Anson came home and saw the box, Noah could tell him that it was something like a treadmill or bicycle, to help Anson maintain his fitness routine during filming.

Or tell him it's a birthday present from Lucas.

In this way, Anson already had a preconceived notion, which was the first surprise; then Annie crawled out of the box, bringing the second surprise.

Anne was 100% certain that Anson wouldn't believe the twist that followed.

In this way, the preparation is relatively simple; all that's needed is a cardboard box, and then Annie can prepare everything herself.

Before them stood an enormous cardboard box, nearly two meters tall. Even Noah was struggling to get through it. Annie didn't know how she had squeezed out, nor how Anson had opened it. Was she sure she wouldn't expose herself and let Anson see through her?
