The Best Actor in the Vase of Meiyu

Chapter 1886 Making a grand appearance

Chapter 1886 Making a grand appearance
A smile was always on Ansen's lips; his eyes were clear, his brows were relaxed, and his expression was at ease.

A closer look reveals that Anson is very relaxed, and it's not an act. His composure, emanating from within, genuinely eases Charlie Kaufman's tension.

However, Charlie still didn't smile, and simply repeated, "Sorry."

This time, Anson didn't speak, but simply watched Charlie quietly.

Charlie gradually relaxed, the restraint and anxiety he had felt when he was surrounded were gone. "I'm sorry, I couldn't let you stand on the podium tonight."

Anson didn't hide his surprise; this was indeed unexpected. "Charlie..."

Charlie didn't stop there, "You deserve praise. And not just for the film's breakthrough."

"Of course, it's a miracle that my movie was a box office success, and it's all because of you; but putting that aside, you also did an unparalleled job in the movie. You are an actor, and people shouldn't be blinded by prejudice."

"Kate is the same."

Sincere sincerity is quietly hidden in words.

Anson's heart was enveloped in warmth. "Charlie, no one should feel sorry."

"This is an awards ceremony, things are beyond our control. Ultimately, it still requires some luck. Maybe we've already used up our luck at the box office, right?"

A small joke made Charlie laugh.

"Even if we are truly sorry, we should feel sorry for you. Charlie, you deserve recognition. You are the one who should abandon prejudice and see the truth."

"To be honest, I understand why people like 'sideways', but isn't it a bit too cliché?"

"It's another typical Hollywood formula, another typical academic style, a retro academic renaissance. We can't deny that Alexander Payne has a very keen eye for capturing the details of life, but personally, I still hope to see screenwriters like you who bravely step out of their comfort zones and explore in adventure and madness."

"In my opinion, you are the winner of the Best Screenplay award."

Charlie was startled and looked up at Anson—

No words were needed; his eyes spoke volumes. Anson was serious, and everything he said came from the bottom of his heart.

Anson shrugged slightly, a smile spreading across his face. "But this is an awards ceremony, the Golden Globe Awards. Whoever takes it seriously loses."

"Let's relax and enjoy tonight."

"So, Charlie, tell me, have you been dreaming lately?"

Charlie's smile widened as he immediately understood Anson's meaning: dreaming is a form of creation, at least for Charlie.

Charlie looked at Anson. "What, if I write a completely new script, are you going to continue acting? Aren't you worried about going completely off track and no commercial film will want to cast you as the lead in the future?"

Anson shrugged dismissively, "I don't need to worry about these things."

That's how confident I am!

Charlie's smile widened as he realized... there was no arguing with it, "No, I haven't been dreaming lately. In fact, the pressure of awards season is so great that I've started having insomnia."

Anson tilted his head. "Wait, this is a good thing. Does it mean you're working on a masterpiece?"

"Haha." Charlie no longer held back and burst into laughter.

They chatted and laughed, relaxed and carefree.

The celebrities and stars coming and going at the Hilton Hotel all witnessed this scene. Undoubtedly, Anson remained the focus of the evening; whether he won or not, he was the focus. Everyone was waiting to see him fail, the spotlight fixed on Anson, anticipating his reaction after missing out on the award.

Moreover, putting aside the awards themselves, Anson stole the show on the red carpet tonight. After the entire awards ceremony, the most clicked topic on TMZ and the most discussed topic on online forums was still Anson's interesting red carpet moments.

And who could possibly miss out on Anson?

However, at this moment, watching Anson join Charlie's group, the Heartbroken Alliance duo showed no signs of depression or loss, laughing non-stop and laughing heartily as if no one else was around.

Anyone with a discerning eye can see that it's not a disguise.

It was only at this moment that people realized Anson was serious. From the moment he stepped onto the red carpet in a casual outfit, Anson maintained a relaxed attitude. While others were waiting to see the show, Anson had already detached himself from it all and was enjoying the awards ceremony tonight with a relaxed and cheerful demeanor.

Now it seems they thought they were watching a good show, with Anson as the main character, but who knew that in Anson's eyes, they were the circus clowns?

Finally, Anne Hathaway managed to get a chance to speak to Anson.

At the awards ceremony, Anson is everyone's Anson.

"It's a real shame. I was hoping to hear your acceptance speech tonight." Anne's eyes were full of laughter, with a hint of mischief.

Anson spread his hands. "Then you'll just have to wait a little longer. After all, excitement always requires patience."

Annie stepped forward and gave Anson a hug. Taking advantage of the cheek kiss, she lowered her voice and asked, "Are you going to stay at the celebration party for the rest of the time?"

Anson let out a soft sigh. "It might take some time, but I'm thinking of sneaking out during a break. These social occasions are so boring, so what are your plans?"

They're still at the Hilton Hotel, surrounded by people, and standing together doesn't seem out of place at all. After all, they're partners from "The Princess Diaries," and they can talk to the media with ease without attracting much attention. But things will be different when they head to the after-party later.

There were far fewer cameras there, and the private space seemed safer on the surface, but the hidden paparazzi were the real danger.

So they can be closer here; at a victory party, they need to keep a little distance.

Some things are best addressed through communication now.

Anne shook her head. "I don't know, but I do know the party is going to be noisy until dawn. I just want to go home and get some rest. All this jewelry is about to break my neck."

The price of beauty is that these actresses are all dressed up, not only in uncomfortable evening gowns, but also burdened by piles of jewelry.

More importantly, all of these jewels were rented from the brand; if they were damaged or lost, the actors would likely be financially ruined.

Anson raised an eyebrow slightly, an idea popping into his mind, "How about we go to the movies and watch a midnight showing?"

Annie was taken aback. "A movie?"

Anson shrugged. "Tonight, 100% of people will be going to the movie theater. It's the quietest and most deserted place, safer than your own home."

Anne's eyes lit up. "And there are always some classic masterpieces in midnight screenings."

Before she could finish speaking, Annie was already rubbing her hands together, eager to try.

Immediately afterward, Annie noticed someone else appearing beside her out of the corner of her eye. She stopped abruptly, didn't continue speaking, but gave Anson a look, then stepped aside, exchanged a few polite words, and then exchanged glances with the newcomer to greet him.

"Hey, Sid, good evening."
