Chapter 1976 Genuine Strength

Chapter 1976 Genuine Strength

Skill proficiency is something that is almost directly related to one's own combat ability. As skill proficiency increases, the skill itself will become more and more powerful. After breaking through a certain limit, one can reach the point where the ability is abstracted and conceptualized, which is called the transcendent realm.

Improving skill proficiency is naturally of paramount importance. The simplest way is to use skill points. Whether you are a blessed being or a monster with a level, you can gain skill points when you level up, receiving two points per level.

A more pragmatic approach is to continuously use the skill, literally improving proficiency, thereby increasing skill level.

However, both methods have their limits. At most, the proficiency of a skill can only be raised to A. And from the lowest proficiency F to proficiency A, the skill enhancement can only make it more powerful, easier to use, and less resource-intensive, but it cannot achieve a qualitative change.

Proficiency level A is like the level 100 threshold; before and after level 100, it's like two different worlds.

To break through the A level of proficiency and reach the levels of [S], [SS], [SSS], [MAX], and [Z], various external forces are required, such as titles, special professions, special equipment, and great achievements. Very few individuals can break through the limits with pure proficiency without relying on these factors.

However, a proficiency level of A does not necessarily mean that it is weaker than the performance of a transcendent skill. Most transcendent skills are possessed by great individuals from birth, and the development of transcendent skills is limited to the crude use of force, like throwing bricks. Proficiency level A is the complete opposite, which means that the skill is used to its fullest potential through skillful techniques.

The difference between them is probably that a straight punch is simple, incredibly powerful, and quite easy to judge the direction of, while a martial arts technique that is not very powerful but can be delivered from all sorts of tricky angles.

【Mimicry】This skill is highly likely. Once it breaks through the skill limit, it will no longer be able to change the color of its skin or use camouflage to become invisible, but will be able to directly change its own physical structure to complete the mimicry transformation.

It can be described as a low-end version of [Perfect Man Z]. This is not to belittle [Mimicry], but the power of [Perfect Man Z] is just too terrifying. It does not require the holder to think actively. It will grant the holder's every wish like a wish-granting machine. It can even transform the structure of an ancient dragon. Furthermore, it can self-destruct like a doomsday bomb when the holder has self-destructive tendencies.

Compared to that, the limit-breaking [Mimicry] is indeed much weaker, unable to change the overall body shape, and the range of transformation is limited to what it is aware of.

Of course, once you reach the level beyond skills, what [Mimicry] will look like is completely unknown, and no one has ever seen it.

Being in the Golden Tree Sea, the Camelot Dragon Lizard, as a top predator, must have a way to increase the proficiency cap of [Mimicry], but it only has a proficiency of A. This skill with only an A proficiency is extremely troublesome when combined with the Camelot Dragon Lizard's other skills.

【Body Control SS】

[It can sense every cell in the body and perform control within permissible limits.]

【Precise SS】

[Capable of precise control at the cellular level]

[Lightning-Fast Thinking S]

[By completely synchronizing thought and action, errors are significantly reduced, and command time is shortened.]

This series of powerful skills allowed the [Mimicry] skill, with only an A-level proficiency, to unleash unimaginable effectiveness. The Camelot Dragon Lizard could freely change its skin color at will, making every movement unpredictable and visually confusing its enemies regarding its limb length and even location. This is similar to how the Stranger, using a seemingly ordinary piece of equipment as the core, combined with a series of skills, equipment, and playstyles, achieved a qualitative leap in effectiveness.

Greenlanders eagerly joined the battle, with their level 300 Camelot lizard fighting against both her and Blaze.

In close combat alone, the Camelot Dragon Lizard is incredibly intimidating. Its limbs are fixed, and its attack range is fixed, but its constantly changing skin color makes it difficult to judge, and its arms are sometimes long and sometimes short, and its tail is sometimes thick and sometimes thin.

Sometimes, even the entire body shifts due to changes in skin color, making the left half of the body invisible and the right half change color to match the left half.

Its skin-changing behavior is almost without warning, lasting only 0.2 seconds, and this time is also hidden during its combat, in conjunction with various turning attacks.

Amidst the Camelot's dazzling offensive, Blazer and Greenland, who were seeing this tactic for the first time, were unable to judge the Camelot's attack range and were repeatedly defeated.

When the Camelot Dragon Lizard appears to land with a heavy tumble from its charge, it actually uses its left claw to slam the ground, followed by a turn and a tail whip.

Of all monster types, any monster with a tail can use a tail whip attack, but most monsters use their tail whips to hit insects or tease themselves. Only fish, dragons, and dragon lizards use their tail whips as deadly moves.

Fish tail flicks are more like slapping, while dragons and dragon lizards' tail flicks are like whips, incredibly powerful and also have an area-of-effect attack with airbursts and sonic paralysis.

With their quick reflexes, the two of them immediately noticed the Camelot dragon's feint from the unusual ground tremors and prepared to counter the Camelot dragon's powerful tail whip.

But while their bodies reacted instinctively, their minds also considered that the Camelot lizard's mimicry could visually alter the thickness and length of its tail. Their instinctive physical reaction was based on seeing the Camelot lizard's tail-swinging motion.

The attack range was wrong; the Camelot dragon's tail was thicker and longer than it actually appeared. And both of them happened to be able to just barely glide past the enemy's effective attack range so they could seamlessly seize the opportunity to counterattack. This instinctive greed led them to enter the position where the Camelot dragon's tail whip attack, which was the most powerful among dragon lizard species, was at its most powerful, while they were dodging.

Blazer felt an incredible force surge through his waist, and the next second he lost control of his body and flew out, crashing into the ground and causing a violent explosion.

Fortunately, Blazer took the hit of the tail swing first, giving Greenland a crucial amount of time to use his waist to perform a side roll in mid-air and dodge the tail swing.

“This power…” Greenland looked at the giant crater in the distance, his lips twitching.

If she had been hit that way, she would probably have shattered instantly.

Greenland glanced at him and immediately looked away, fixing her gaze on the Camelot dragon lizard that stood proudly before her with a kingly air.

Sure enough, generally speaking, no monster that can break through the level cap is a fake.
