"It seems this expedition will not be easy, but we can't give up just like that," Chen Ze said, glancing at Tian Siyao with lingering interest.

“Of course, as long as we work together, there’s nothing we can’t overcome,” Tian Siyao replied, her jade sword still gleaming in her hand, as if fighting against the darkness of this ghost.

Just then, the ghost suddenly roared and tried to break free of the halo. But Chen Ze and Tian Siyao's coordination was perfect, like an insurmountable barrier.

“This time, it will not be able to escape our encirclement,” Chen Ze said in a low voice.

“That’s right, it has to pay a price,” Tian Siyao said.

As the two ventured deeper into the cave, a breathtaking view suddenly opened up before them.

A secluded little clearing came into view, with various herbs scattered on the ground.

A faint scent of grass filled the air, a stark contrast to the chilly atmosphere at the cave entrance.

Chen Ze was secretly delighted, as if he could sense a glimmer of life in this place.

"Hmm, something's different here," Tian Siyao said softly, as she gently turned over a pile of herbs with her jade sword, which emitted a faint green light in the dim light.

Chen Ze also stopped and walked to the pile of herbs, looking down to examine them carefully.

His gaze quickly settled on a Qingling Grass, a rare healing herb that has a remarkable effect on treating external injuries.

He bent down to pick up the Qingling Grass, then walked to Tian Siyao's side.

"Apply this to your wound; it will help it heal faster," Chen Ze said with a smile, handing it to Tian Siyao.

Tian Siyao took the Qingling Grass, smiled, and said, "It seems this place isn't all dangerous."

Chen Ze nodded, then gently hung the Yin-Yang Mirror around his neck so that he could identify any unusual phenomena at any time.

He realized that even though the place seemed safe, he couldn't let his guard down.

The two exchanged a glance, their understanding unspoken.

Tian Siyao carefully applied the Qingling Grass to her wound, and a cool sensation immediately penetrated her skin, bringing her comfort.

Chen Ze kept an eye on his surroundings, his Qingfeng Sword held horizontally in front of him, ready to deal with any unexpected situations.

Just then, a sudden chill swept over, and Chen Ze's Yin-Yang Mirror instantly emitted a faint light.

His heart tightened, and he turned to look in the direction from which the chill was coming from.

"Is something wrong?" Tian Siyao also noticed the difference. She frowned slightly and gripped the jade sword even tighter.

"Stay vigilant." Chen Ze gritted his teeth, telling himself to be prepared for any possible danger.

In another corner of the open space, a mass of darkness began to gather, gradually solidifying into a blurry human figure.

The chill grew stronger, seemingly conveying some kind of meaning to the two of them.

The two stood nervously together, Tian Siyao's jade sword and Chen Ze's Qingfeng sword reflecting each other in the dim light, creating a unique scene and a signal of their mutual dependence.

In the midst of this tense atmosphere, the darkness finally coalesced into a ghostly figure, its face grotesque and terrifying.

Just as Chen Ze and Tian Siyao relaxed slightly, the surrounding temperature suddenly dropped, as if icy tentacles were wrapping around the air.

Almost simultaneously, the two felt a stench waft towards them, like the sigh of death.

Immediately afterwards, a new ghost appeared before them, its body constantly deforming, like a piece of malleable clay.

At this moment, the ghost's form suddenly changed to resemble Wu Sang Daoren, and then transformed back into the terrifying evil ghost from before.

It seemed to be mocking them, challenging their psychological limits.

"Oh no, this thing can transform!" Chen Ze's eyes flashed with a sharp light as he hurriedly drew the Yin-Yang Sword from his hand.

With a swipe of the sword, a sharp sword aura slashed towards the ghost. However, just as the sword was about to touch the ghost, its body suddenly became as hazy as mist, and the Yin-Yang Sword passed through its body without causing any damage.

“This…” Chen Ze’s eyes sharpened; he realized he had encountered an extraordinary enemy.

Tian Siyao also felt the pressure increase. She gripped the hilt of the jade sword tightly and slashed at the ghost, but the same scene happened again, and her jade sword failed to hurt it.

"Chen Ze, its body seems to be made of mist and has a fiery aura. Our attacks are ineffective!" Tian Siyao's voice revealed a hint of panic.

“I see it. We need to find other ways to deal with it,” Chen Ze said solemnly.

Just then, he suddenly thought of the Yin-Yang Mirror in his hand.

The ghost seemed to be under some kind of restraint, and its misty state instantly froze.

He quickly took out the Yin-Yang Mirror, and a beam of eerie light shone on the ghost.

"Now!" Chen Ze shouted, and swung his sword again.

This time, the Yin-Yang Sword successfully pierced the ghost's body.

Tian Siyao followed closely behind, wielding her jade sword. A streak of emerald green sword energy struck the ghost, finally causing it to let out a painful howl.

However, at that moment, the ghost's body began to blur again, as if it were about to return to the untouchable mist it had been before.

"We can't let it recover!" Chen Ze's heart tightened. If this monstrous ghost recovered, their situation would become even more dangerous.

At that moment, Tian Siyao took a deep breath and recited the mantra for enlightenment.

As soon as the syllables of the incantation fell, an invisible force enveloped the ghost, as if placing heavy shackles on it.

"A good opportunity!" A hint of joy flashed in Chen Ze's eyes. He swung the Yin-Yang Sword again, this time piercing the ghost's body deeply.

The two finally breathed a sigh of relief, but they both knew that the battle against the ghost was far from over.

Chen Ze felt a chill approaching, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly. He knew in his heart that he could not afford to make another mistake this time.

He took out the multicolored pagoda, a magical artifact with intricate patterns engraved on its surface.
It seems to contain endless cosmic power.

His eyes narrowed, and he silently recited a spell. The Five-Colored Pagoda immediately emitted a dazzling light.

"Are you ready?" Tian Siyao gripped Mingyu tightly, her bright eyes fixed on the front.

"Ready? Let's begin!" Chen Ze replied with a firm look in his eyes.

The tower's light grew brighter and brighter, like a morning star tearing through the darkness.

The ghost seemed to sense something was wrong; its form began to twist, as if trying to transform and escape.

But the light from the multicolored tower seemed to form an invisible barrier, firmly locking the ghost in place.

"Hurry up, Chen Ze!" Tian Siyao urged. The jade pendant trembled slightly in her hand, as if sensing the rapidly changing energy around her.

Chen Ze took a deep breath and waved his hand forcefully. The light of the Five-Colored Tower surged, and beams of multicolored light pierced directly through the ghost's body.

The ghost let out a mournful wail before being completely absorbed by the power of the Five-Colored Pagoda.

"Finally..." Chen Ze breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Tian Siyao, and their eyes met. They both saw the relief and surprise in each other's eyes.

“We’ve won a great victory this time, but things here are much more complicated than we imagined.” Tian Siyao bit her lower lip, looking deep in thought.

Chen Ze nodded. He looked at the colorful pagoda, then at the cave. The light was dim, and the cave walls were covered with some incomprehensible runes, as if they were hiding more unknown secrets.

"Yes, the mysteries of this cave go far beyond what we've described." Chen Ze put away the multicolored pagoda, a slight heaviness settling in his heart. (End of Chapter)
