Chen Ze gripped his sword tightly, warily surveying his surroundings.

They are now in a strange and dangerous environment, and cannot afford to be complacent in the slightest.

Chen Ze then prepared a second action plan.

He cleverly wrapped rabbit skin around the Kongming lantern as an extra bait.

He plans to personally operate the Kongming lanterns and instruct team members on how to quickly retreat to a safe area in critical moments.

"Remember, once the fireflies are attracted, we must remain as quiet as possible."

Chen Ze said seriously to Tian Siyao and Qin Miyue, "Our goal is to guide as many of them as possible into the pool and eliminate them."

Tian Siyao and Qin Miyue nodded in understanding.

Finally, the three of them went to a spot near the edge of the pool to carry out the procedure.

Chen Ze lit the specially treated Kongming lantern.

Tian Siyao was responsible for monitoring the reactions of the torchbear swarm and adjusting strategies as needed.

As the Kongming lantern slowly ascended into the sky, a large number of torch worms began to gather and follow its flight path.

They shimmered with a faint light, creating a beautiful and unique scene in the night sky.

"Alright, the fireflies are starting to be attracted." Tian Siyao stared intently at the swarm of fireflies on the Kongming lantern, making some minor adjustments with the scroll in her hand.

More and more fireflies are gathering around the Kongming lanterns.

They fluttered keenly toward the Kongming lanterns, as if driven by some kind of magic.

"It's time to act!" Chen Ze waved his hand, signaling all members to follow his instructions.

The three moved quickly and nimbly to their designated position and patiently waited for the swarm of torchworms to get closer to the pool.

Tian Siyao gripped the quill pen tightly and traced new runes on the scroll.

Suddenly, a dazzling light burst forth around the Kongming lantern, accompanied by a buzzing sound and a deafening explosion.

The fireflies screamed in terror and scattered in all directions.

Chen Ze seized the opportunity and swung his sword at one of the fleeing fireflies.

He cut it in two without making a mistake.

Upon seeing this, Qin Miyue quickly unleashed a magical attack, killing the remaining fireflies.

Tian Siyao's runes began to take effect, her patterns forming dazzling rays of light in the air, guiding the swarm of fireflies to become more concentrated.

"One more time!" Chen Ze shouted, charging towards the Sacred Fireflies with his sword. He wielded the blade, each swing killing several Sacred Fireflies. "Chen Ze, watch out!" Qin Miyue suddenly yelled.

Chen Ze instinctively tried to dodge, but was still hit by a giant torch worm.

He fell to the ground with a sudden thud, leaving a bloody gash on his head.

"Chen Ze!" Tian Siyao exclaimed and rushed over to check his injuries.

Qin Miyue then unleashed a full-scale magical attack, attempting to draw all attention to herself.

She knew now was not the time to let her guard down or back down.

Despite the excruciating pain in his head, Chen Ze struggled to his feet.

"It's alright." He gritted his teeth. "Keep going!"

The Kongming lantern slowly descended into the pool, stirring up a burst of water.

Tian Siyao stared intently at the water's surface; everything was progressing very smoothly.

A whirlpool quickly formed on the water's surface, engulfing all the torch worms.

Observing the swarm of fireflies being swallowed by the vortex, Chen Ze and Qin Miyue breathed a sigh of relief.

The plan is proceeding smoothly and with unexpectedly good results.

Suddenly, they noticed that a disciple from a northern family had not evacuated in time and was still at the spot where the Kongming lantern had landed.

"Hurry up!" Chen Ze shouted urgently.

However, it was too late.

A massive vortex swept towards the disciple of the Northern Clan, mercilessly engulfing him.

"No! We're too late!" Tian Siyao's voice trembled, a trace of sorrow flashing in her eyes. "This is my responsibility." Chen Ze gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, his gaze resolute. "I was too confident."

Qin Miyue gently shook her head: "We all know this job is risky, it's not because of you."

The group stood silently at the edge of the pool, lost in sorrow and contemplation.

Although they successfully defeated the swarm of fireflies, it came at the cost of their lives.

“We must persevere.” Chen Ze waved his hand. “Our efforts for him will not be in vain.”

Tian Siyao wiped away her tears and nodded in agreement.

"He gave his life for this expedition, and we cannot let him down."

Qin Miyue sighed: "Indeed, we came here to search for clues about the source of wisdom."

"Now that we have overcome the first obstacle, we cannot back down because of one accident."

The three regrouped and decided to continue their journey.

Just like the disciples of the Northern families, they forge ahead even in the face of danger.

Tian Siyao looked around: "What should we do next?"

Chen Ze gripped the sword hilt tightly: "Let's keep going."

Qin Miyue: "Yes, it makes everything we do for the disciples of the Northern Clan meaningful!"

Once again embarking on an unknown adventure, they hope to find more clues and provide an explanation for the courage and sacrifice of the Northern Clan disciples who died.

A few days later, Chen Ze was inside the Royal Pawnshop in Liming Town.

He gripped the five jade tablets tightly in his hand, his heart filled with doubt and unease.

The dim candlelight in the room cast a glow on Chen Ze's face, making his gaze appear even more resolute.

"What exactly is the purpose of these five jade tablets?" he asked himself in a low voice.

Suddenly, a beam of light shone from the other side of the room, and Qin Miyue appeared faintly in front of Chen Ze.

"Qin Miyue! What are you doing here?" Chen Ze asked in surprise.

Qin Miyue's face was heavy: "I've come to tell you something."

She walked over to Chen Ze and said, "There's a power struggle going on within the Northern Clan."

Chen Ze stared intently at Qin Miyue: "What? A power struggle?"

Qin Miyue nodded: "Yes, some elders of the Northern Clan intend to use the jade token in your possession to undermine Elder Lin's leadership and control us."

"What do they want?" Chen Ze asked, frowning.

"They want to master the mysterious source of wisdom in order to enhance the family's power," Qin Miyue said with a hint of helplessness in her voice.

Chen Ze gripped the jade pendant tightly, pondered for a moment, and then asked, "What should I do?"

Qin Miyue looked at Chen Ze, a resolute glint in her eyes: "Give these five jade tokens to Elder Lin."

"Only if he is strong enough can he guarantee your safety."

Chen Ze pondered for a moment and nodded: "Alright, in that case, I will hand the jade token over to Elder Lin."

Upon hearing this, Tian Siyao emerged from the shadows and said, "I'll go too."

Chen Ze turned to Tian Siyao: "Are you willing to risk going to the Northern Clan?"

Tian Siyao nodded without hesitation: "Of course! We cannot let the conspiracy within the Northern Border Clan succeed."

The three comrades stood together again, facing hardships and the unknown.

“We need a proper plan,” Chen Ze said, looking at the two men. “First, we need to get out of the pawnshop.”

Qin Miyue smiled and said, "It couldn't be simpler."

She took out a small bead, "A bead to conceal one's aura."

Chen Ze and Tian Siyao looked at the small blue beads, their hearts filled with anticipation.

"Alright, let's hide for now and leave the pawnshop." Chen Ze encouraged the crowd.

As Qin Miyue threw out the invisibility pill, their figures gradually blurred and eventually disappeared from the spot. (End of this chapter)
