Chapter 41 Yu Dawei Meets Huang Fengcang Again
"Brother, what do you think?" Yao Jinfu opened the car door and looked down at Yu Dawei.

The Hitachi excavator worked for a while and performed well overall. With Master Yao's skillful operation, Yu Dawei immediately gave it a thumbs up: "Not bad!"

“The person in charge of section 9 hasn’t arrived yet, so take this opportunity to practice driving.” Yu Dawei glanced back at the various construction vehicles in the distance. “It’s strange, I can’t see the leader on my first day of work. My wife gave me so many New Year’s greetings, but I probably won’t need them.”

“Okay, I used to drive a Lingong excavator, and the handling feels a bit different. I’ll give it another try.” Yao Jinfu returned to the cab with some excitement.

“Axe, here’s what we’ll do. You work hard and help me out when the supervisor comes. Your sister-in-law is giving birth tomorrow, so I have to go back.” Yu Dawei felt inexplicably nervous thinking about his wife giving birth. “When the money arrives next month, I’ll bribe all the underlings. If I do a good job this month, they won’t have any leverage against me.”

"Don't worry, bro. I learned a lot about interpersonal skills from that boss over the years. He often asked me to help him avoid drinking." Yao Jinfu smiled confidently.

"Okay, let me know if anything happens."

After saying that, Yu Dawei drove his four-wheeled vehicle out of the construction site and headed back.

It wasn't that he was careless and let Yao Jinfu do whatever he wanted.

That's how it is with car maintenance; the boss can't always be watching the site.

Many things actually require cooperation with the mentors in order to bring out the team's greatest strengths.

Logically speaking, Yu Dawei should have kept an eye on the construction site for two or three days when it started, but unfortunately, his wife gave birth to their eldest son in their previous life on those two days.

To be precise, it was 9:00 AM on April 16, 1993.

On the way back, we took the small path to the west, which was a shortcut.

But when they were halfway there, they encountered an Audi blocking the middle of the road. There was a gap to pass through, but Yu Dawei found the Audi very familiar.

Finally, he made eye contact with a man in the back seat of the car.

That's it, I recognized him by his eyes, it's that loser again.

"Oh! It's you!" Huang Fengcang's tightly furrowed brows instantly relaxed.

Compared to Dawei's surprise, Huang Fengcang in the car was clearly very excited and happy.

“Oh, what a coincidence, boss.” Yu Dawei glanced at the Audi smoking under the hood. “Your car is quite old and you don’t maintain it often, so you’d better take it easy.”

"Who are you? This is none of your business. Get out of here and stop blocking the way." A man in a suit and gloves walked out from behind, looking somewhat displeased.

He heard what this person said. What do you mean by not maintaining the car regularly? He wipes the car down whenever he has time, adds windshield washer fluid and antifreeze, and occasionally inflates the tires. How is that not maintaining the car? Who said he doesn't maintain it!

Isn't this a slap in the face for him, the driver?

Yu Dawei stared blankly at the burly man, unsure whether the guy was genuinely stupid or just pretending.

Didn't you realize your boss knows me? Yet you're talking so arrogantly. I bet you're either my boss's brother-in-law or some other relative.

“Cousin, don’t listen to his nonsense. I maintain this car regularly and wipe it down every day. Look at the door handle area, I’ve almost worn the skin off from wiping it down.” The man came over and explained.

Yu Dawei was speechless. He realized that this guy was definitely a genius.

"Hey, Huang Man, go and call Supervisor Chang back. He shouldn't have gone far." Huang Fengcang opened the car door and placed the report in his hand on the car.

"Alright, I'll go right now." The burly man pulled up his pants, glanced at Yu Dawei, and turned to run east.

"Young man, I'm sorry you had to see this." Huang Fengcang stood apologetically beside the four-wheeled vehicle.

Yu Dawei quickly got out of the car: "It's okay, it's okay, this guy is really something, he has a lot of personality."

"Hehe, it's my cousin from my hometown. He's not doing well, so I just had him come a few days ago." Huang Fengcang looked away with some disappointment. "By the way, since the master mechanic is here, there's no need to find anyone else to fix the car. Can you take a look at it for me?" "Okay." Yu Dawei steadied himself, still unable to shake off the sight of Huang Man running away.

Opening the hood, the smoke dissipated significantly, and the exterior of the components appeared to be in good condition.

However, when Yu Dawei gently touched the surface of the engine, it was very hot to the touch.

“Smoking isn’t a big problem. What else could be wrong with this car?” Yu Dawei asked.

"It won't start. It's almost two o'clock. I've tried every method I know, but it still won't start." Huang Fengcang took a pair of cotton gloves out of the trunk.

"Yeah, I can tell." Yu Dawei glanced at the various wires that had been pulled out of the driver's cab and was utterly speechless.

“I suspect there might be a problem with the engine. I need to use a wrench to open it and take a look.” Yu Dawei looked at Huang Fengcang.

"I don't have a wrench. How about I go look for one somewhere else?"

"Goodbye, two of them have already gotten lost in such a short time." Yu Dawei turned around and looked into the gap in the four-wheeled vehicle. There was a toolbox that had been welded shut. After opening it, he found several types of boards and an extension rod.

"Let me pull the car over to the side first, and then I'll show you the car." Yu Dawei drove the four-wheeled vehicle over and parked it behind the Audi.

Then the engine cover was removed.

"Where are you going?" Huang Fengcang stood next to Yu Dawei, watching him disassemble the device with curiosity.

"I just got back from section 9 of the construction site," Yu Dawei said as he unscrewed screws.

Huang Fengcang's eyes lit up slightly: "Your name is Yu Dawei, right?"

Yu Dawei suddenly turned around and stared at Huang Fengcang, stunned for a moment, his face full of disbelief: "How did you know?"

Although he guessed that the other party was likely a high-ranking leader at the construction site, he was not sure what position they held.

Could this person be the supervisor of their ninth contract section?

"Hehe, how would I know?" Huang Fengcang became interested, took out the report from the back seat, and turned to a certain page. "Take a look. This not only has your specific work in Section 9, but also your one-inch photo. So tell me, how do you think I know?"

It's a done deal; he's undoubtedly the supervisor of section nine.

Yu Dawei was a bit panicked at this moment. It was his first day at work, and he had already run into trouble by slacking off. He was doomed.

This is like trying to find shit in the outhouse with a lantern!

"Hehe, Dawei, if I remember correctly, today is the first day of work, right? Is it appropriate for the excavator owner like you to not be here?" Huang Fengcang looked at Yu Dawei with a smile.

He was actually quite surprised when he saw the report about Yu Dawei that morning; a 23-year-old young man actually owned an excavator.

This might not seem like much in the city, since the parents have the means, but Yu Dawei's address is clearly Yujiatun, and the families in that village can actually afford to keep an excavator.

It truly broadened Huang Fengcang's horizons. Moreover, when he saw that one-inch photo, he felt inexplicably familiar with it.

But I couldn't remember it for a moment.

Now that everything has finally come together, he can finally feel relieved.

It doesn't seem so unreasonable for such a technically skilled young man to own an excavator.

He started from scratch, and he greatly admired Master Xiao.
