Chapter 27 First Trial of Weapon Forging

Chapter 27 First Trial of Weapon Forging (Please read on!)

It's not difficult to leave a divine imprint; the silver needle artifact already bears the divine imprint left by Lu Cheng'an.

After Lu Cheng'an left his divine sense imprint in the storage bag, he took out the weapon-refining manual passed down by the Xu family.

He had previously read the family's collection of books on weapon crafting, but those books were more of an introduction and did not contain any actual weapon crafting methods.

"Materials, Smelting, and Rune Arrays!"

Lu Cheng'an quickly reviewed the Xu family's weapon-refining inheritance and found that it was divided into three parts. The first part was about weapon-refining materials.

This section contains the most information, listing a large number of crafting materials. The first and second tier materials are the most numerous and are described in detail. There are also third and fourth tier materials, but in smaller quantities, and some are only listed by name.

The smelting section is in the second part, which explains how to smelt the materials from the first part into a prototype.

The last chapter, on rune arrays, contains the least amount of information. It explains how to imprint rune arrays on the vessel blank.

Once the rune array is successfully imprinted on the artifact blank, it means that a magical artifact has been successfully crafted.

The Rune Array chapter also left behind some complete methods for crafting magical artifacts, including the methods for crafting three types of second-tier magical artifacts.

These three second-tier magic weapons are the Refined Iron Magic Sword, the Blazing Flame Magic Sword, and the Myriad Flow Fire Armor. The Refined Iron Magic Sword and the Blazing Flame Magic Sword are both low-grade second-tier offensive magic weapons, while the Myriad Flow Fire Armor is a mid-grade second-tier defensive magic weapon.

These three types of second-tier magic artifacts are extremely difficult to forge, and only Foundation Establishment cultivators can forge magic artifacts of this rank.

Lu Cheng'an only glanced at the names of the three magical artifacts and did not waste time on them. He mainly looked at the crafting method of the first-grade low-level magical artifact.

The Xu family's weapon-refining tradition contains many methods for refining first-tier low-grade magic weapons. After studying them carefully, Lu Cheng'an discovered that there are three types of first-tier low-grade magic weapons suitable for him to refine.

These three magical artifacts are the Refined Iron Magic Sword, the Blazing Flame Magic Sword, and the Crimson Fire Seal. Among them, the Tier 1 Low-grade Refined Iron Magic Sword and the Blazing Flame Magic Sword are infinitely simplified versions of the Tier 2 Low-grade Refined Iron Magic Sword and the Blazing Flame Magic Sword.

"The clan chief gave me a storage bag containing materials for forging a fine iron magic sword. However, before I start forging it, I need to carefully study the materials, smelting, and rune array sections. Only after I have a certain level of confidence can I begin forging it."

After thinking it over carefully, Lu Cheng'an began to carefully read the materials.

The materials section introduces various refining materials, and Lu Cheng'an focused on the first-tier refining materials.

He can only refine first-tier magic weapons right now; he sees no use for higher-tier materials.

Time flies when you're cultivating; more than two months have passed in the blink of an eye.

During this period, apart from his daily cultivation, Lu Cheng'an devoted all his remaining time to studying and refining magical artifacts.

"After more than two months, we have finally succeeded in forging a low-grade first-tier magic weapon!"

Lu Cheng'an looked at the refined iron magic sword in his hand and found that the refined iron magic sword he had forged was slightly different from the one recorded in the classic texts.

The refined iron swords he forged were sharper, but slightly less flexible.

"It's probably because it wasn't tempered with cold spring water. Tempering with magma water enhances the sharpness of the magic weapon, but weakens its flexibility."

After careful consideration, Lu Cheng'an quickly understood the problem.

When a weapon refiner crafts a magical artifact, the artifact blank needs to be repeatedly tempered.

There are generally two ways for weapon refiners to temper magical artifacts: one is to temper them with cold water such as icy springs, and the other is to temper them with hot water such as lava.

The latter is less commonly used by weapon refiners. Lu Cheng'an chose to use magma water for quenching because he could not find a suitable quenching water source.

Fortunately, magma water can also be used as a quenching water source, and it gives the crafted magical artifacts new effects.

"It's a pity that the family didn't send much refined iron this time. We failed several times before and wasted a lot of materials. This refined iron can only be used to forge this one refined iron magic sword!" After sighing, Lu Cheng'an put the refined iron magic sword into his storage bag.

He then began to check his attribute panel.

"Improving my weapon crafting skills is much more difficult than improving my magic skills. I gained a total of six experience points from reading the classics and failing to craft the weapon. This first successful crafting of a magic weapon gave me two more points. I wonder how many more points I will gain from crafting magic weapons in the future?"

"My cultivation progress isn't slow, but my comprehension of the Heavenly Fire Profound Technique is lacking. If I could improve my progress in the Heavenly Fire Profound Technique, my cultivation speed could be even faster."

After carefully examining his own panel, Lu Cheng'an's thoughts gradually returned to normal.

He looked at the slowly flowing river of lava in front of him, then removed all his clothes and jumped directly into the lava river.

Lu Cheng'an entered the lava river very rarely. The most valuable thing in the lava river was the minerals, but these minerals were not of any use to him for the time being, so he did not enter the lava river too often.

He has now exhausted the materials his family had prepared for him to forge magical artifacts, and he needs to enter the lava river to collect some more.

During this period, Lu Cheng'an had carefully memorized the contents of the Refining Inheritance Materials chapter, especially the introduction to first-tier refining materials.

He then went down to the bottom of the lava river and carefully examined the minerals that had been formed there.

When Lu Cheng'an first entered the bottom of the lava river, he was unfamiliar with various minerals. In addition, the environment at the bottom of the lava river was quite special, which is why he felt that the types of minerals nurtured at the bottom of the lava river were very diverse.

But that's not the case. The minerals that emerge from the bottom of the lava river are mainly of two types. In addition to the Fiery Iron Ore he obtained earlier, the other type of mineral is Fire Refined Gold Stone.

Both Fiery Iron Ore and Fire Refining Stone are superior materials for forging fire-attribute magic swords. The Fiery Iron Ore is the material used to forge the Blazing Flame Magic Sword, as recorded in the Xu family's weapon-forging heritage.

The Xu family did not have a stable channel to obtain materials for forging the Blazing Flame Sword, so the number of Blazing Flame Swords they forged was very small.

Lu Cheng'an didn't know exactly how much fiery iron ore and fire-refined gold stone was nurtured at the bottom of the lava river in Fire Locust Mountain, but it was definitely enough for him to practice with.

At the bottom of the lava river, Lu Cheng'an pointed his fingertip, and the Fiery Void Finger Imprint burst forth, its violent force spreading outwards and instantly breaking through the hard bottom layer of stone.
