Chapter 876: Things Continue
Wang Zhan was on the roof, looking at the two people below. One of them was actually Yan Jiecheng, and he didn't know the other one, but he looked familiar, and should be from that yard.

Wang Zhan waited until they all walked over before coming down from the roof. He did not act rashly. After careful consideration, Wang Zhan decided to wait for the results from Sha Zhu before making any decision.

Wang Zhan rushed to Xiao Si and the others from another alley and pretended to be waiting for them. As soon as they met up, he looked in the direction Xiao Si came from and found that Yan Jiecheng and the other two were gone. Wang Zhan thought to himself that Yan Jiecheng was quite smart. He must have noticed that one person was missing among the people he was following, so he retreated immediately.

Wang Zhan signaled them to go home first, and they went to the east courtyard. When they got home, they put their school bags on the table in the main hall. Xiao Wu couldn't wait to ask, "Did you see them? How many people are there? Do you know them?"

Wang Zhan looked at He Yushui, and then said, "I see, two people, one of whom is an old acquaintance of ours, guess who it is?"

Xiao Si and Xiao Wu thought directly of their common classmates, because they believed that a common old acquaintance must be someone among their classmates.

He Yushui was very smart. After thinking for a while, he suddenly realized and said, "It was Yan Jiecheng. Wasn't it because of him that you fought last time, right?"

Wang Zhan smiled and said, "Yes, that's him. The other one should also be from your courtyard, but I don't know his name. I just feel like I should have seen this person before."

He Yushui didn't know who Wang Zhan was talking about, but Xiao Si and Xiao Wu reacted. Xiao Wu said bitterly: "I caught too few termites. I should have caught three more sacks and thrown them in."

Xiao Si said, "Why is this person so persistent? Is he targeting you again? Is this going to stop?"

Wang Zhan waved his hand and said, "It's not because of what happened last time. Come on, let's wait for the news from Brother Zhuzi. You guys should do your homework first. I'll go to the vegetable garden to pick some vegetables and we'll eat later."

Wang Zhan went to the small vegetable garden to pick vegetables. The small vegetable garden had just been built for more than two months, and there were not many vegetables to pick, so he only picked some leeks and some peppers.

Jinbao followed Wang Zhan closely, wagging his tail. Wang Zhan went to the kitchen and used yesterday's soup to make a few steamed buns for Jinbao. He also took out a few big bones from the cellar, heated them up for Jinbao, and put them directly in his food bowl. Jinbao lay at the kitchen door, eating with big mouthfuls.

Wang Zhan took a look at the ingredients in the kitchen and planned to make three dishes and a soup, scrambled eggs with leeks, fried potatoes with chili peppers, fried cabbage with sausage, and a vegetarian stew. He heated up ten steamed buns made of 200 grams of flour in the steamer and started to prepare the dishes.

By the time they started cooking, the sun had already set. He Yushui was the first to come to the kitchen to help Wang Zhan. When the first dish was served, only Xiaowu hadn't finished his homework. Wang Zhan said, "Okay, wash your hands and eat first. You can do the rest when you get home."

Xiao Wu said in a funny way: "Oh, my life is miserable. I am a poor little thing that no one cares about when I go home, and there are still a lot of work waiting for me to do when I go home."

Wang Zhan knew that ever since Xiaowu's mother became pregnant, when he had just been admitted to No. 5 Middle School, his parents had been extremely caring towards him. But once he went to school, his father threw all the housework to Xiaowu. Now, except for cooking, all the other chores were his. His father now only had eyes for Xiaowu's mother.

Xiao Si patted Xiao Wu on the shoulder and said, "This is your fate. You have to endure for another two months."

Xiao Wu was stunned and said, "That's not right. My mother's due date is at the beginning of next month. Why should I wait for another two months?"

Except for Wang Li, everyone else looked at him like an idiot. Xiao Si said, "You, how come you don't understand anything? You need to stay in confinement after giving birth for a month. Forget it, go wash your hands. It's too hard to talk to him." He Yushui helped Wang Zhan serve the dishes. After washing her hands, Wang Li sat there quietly, looking outside. Her meaning was very simple, "Why doesn't my brother bring my bowl and chopsticks? I'm starving."

When Wang Zhan brought up the last dish of soup, everyone except He Yushui, Xiao Si, Xiao Wu and Wang Li were eating it with big mouthfuls.

Xiao Si ate and praised, "How come this fried leek and eggs are so delicious."

Wang Li had a mouth full of food, but she still agreed: "Good time, good time."

Wang Zhan said happily, "How can it not be delicious? The leeks are freshly picked, and the eggs were picked from the chicken coop this morning. They are all very fresh."

Several people stopped talking. They had been hungry for the whole afternoon and everyone started to eat. Apart from the sounds of chewing food, the only sound in the main room was the ticking of the clock.

When everyone had almost finished eating, the voices of Dayu and Xiaoyu came from the door. Wang Zhan stood up and said, "You guys continue eating. I'll see who's coming."

Wang Zhan went to the door and opened it. He saw Sha Zhu walking in with a net bag containing three lunch boxes. He said directly, "Xiao Zhan, have you eaten? If not, you're in for a treat today. It's all meat and vegetables." As he spoke, he raised the net bag and shook it.

Wang Zhan looked at Sha Zhu with resentment and said, "If you had come ten minutes earlier, I could have had one more bite. Let's go, Yu Shui is here too." After that, Wang Zhan closed the door and followed Sha Zhu to the main room.

When Sha Zhu saw that Yu Shui's classmates were all there, he smiled and greeted them, saying, "Oh, they're all here. You're in for a treat. Come and see what it is."

After saying that, Sha Zhu put three lunch boxes on the table and opened them one by one. The dishes were still warm. It seemed that Sha Zhu came here as soon as he got off work.

Xiao Wu exclaimed, "Oh, twice-cooked pork, this is still Kung Pao chicken, and there is also chicken stewed with mushrooms, no, I have to have another steamed bun."

He Yushui and Wang Li were both planning to leave the table, but when they saw that Sha Zhu had not touched his dish, they raised their chopsticks and charged towards the lunch box. They were not going to be polite to Xiao Si and Xiao Wu.

Wang Zhan shook his head and said to Sha Zhu, "Brother Zhu, eat first. I'll go get you some wine. There are a few bottles of Lianhua Bai in the kitchen. I'll get them for you. These are what the master brought over last time."

"Okay, I'll wait. I'll tell you something after dinner." said Sha Zhu.

Wang Zhan knew that there must be a result, so he went to get wine for Sha Zhu. After Wang Zhan brought the wine, he did not go to the table again. He was really full, so he went to the yard to check on the pond and the chickens he fed, and watered the fruit trees and vegetable garden.

After dinner, several people did not sit in the main room. Instead, they put a small square table and low stools in the yard. They sat around it, drinking tea, eating the fruits washed by He Yushui, and began to chat about all sorts of things. Most of the time, it was Sha Zhu who talked. Xiao Si and Xiao Wu talked attentively, and sometimes Wang Li turned her head to listen, but she focused more on the important matter of eating fruits.
