Chapter 976 Change of Mindset

After listening to his mentor Qi Dasheng's story, Wang Zhan became even more determined to give up going to university. The main reason for his decision was his younger sister. Wang Zhan didn't want to be separated from his sister for even a day, unless Wang Li herself wanted to leave.

The second reason is because of Yu Xu. He felt that with Yu Xu, he would need more private time to manage her, and judging from his sister's appearance, she was also eager to try. If he went to university and was away for several years, Wang Li would probably be very uncomfortable.

But his master's story made him realize that he was not suited for a career in government and that it would be better to be an ordinary person. After all, workers and peasants are the priority now, so being a worker is not bad.

After talking for half the night, Wang Zhan finally cleared up his doubts about his master's unusual behavior. Qi Dasheng had also drunk a bit too much, so in the end, Wang Zhan helped his master back to his room. Wang Zhan returned to the guest room, looked at his sister, tucked him in, and went to bed.

The next day, Wang Xuanyi went down the mountain with Wang Zhan and his sister's letters of introduction and asked someone to buy train tickets. Wang Zhan originally intended to pay, but Master Wang refused.

When Wang Zhan got his train ticket, he realized it was for three days later. He had two more days to travel around Dujiangyan and Chengdu. After thinking about it, Wang Zhan took Wang Li down the mountain. When they got down the mountain, Wang Zhan only had a military satchel and a water bottle. He had put everything else in his Jade Void Space, which Wang Li knew about.

Wang Zhan planned to contact Uncle Li first. He called Uncle Li from the post office in Dujiangyan town. Uncle Li was quite surprised when he received the call. He wondered why this kid had gone to Sichuan and Chongqing.

Wang Zhan planned to ask Uncle Li to help him transfer all his 200,000 yuan savings to the Chengdu head office. Uncle Li didn't ask why, assuming that Wang had encountered some difficulties. Although Uncle Li had retired, he was still well-informed and knew that Master Wang had returned to Wuliang Temple.

With Li Bo's help, Wang Zhan arrived in Chengdu the next day and found a guesthouse to stay in. He planned to go to withdraw money before noon, but Wang Li started clamoring to go play in the Jade Void Space.

It's no wonder his younger sister wanted to go; even Wang Zhan wanted to go in. Chengdu was just too hot; you'd sweat just standing there. But Wang Zhan had things to do, so he said, "I'll go buy some food and leave it at the hut. You can eat it yourself when you get hungry, okay?"

Wang Li smiled and nodded, jokingly adding, "If you have any chicks, ducklings, or goslings, send them over too, otherwise I'll be too lonely."

Wang Zhan smiled and patted her head before taking his younger sister directly to the courtyard of the Jade Void Cottage.

Wang Zhan packed his bag and went to the Chengdu branch. It has to be said that Uncle Li's influence is still considerable. When he arrived, the branch manager took the initiative to greet him and asked if he wanted to withdraw all at once or withdraw a portion first. Wang Zhan gave the branch manager his four passbooks, his ID, and a letter of introduction, saying, "I'll withdraw all at once to avoid the hassle of doing it one time at a time."

The bank manager said jokingly, "Oh, that's quite heavy. It's not safe for you to carry that much money around."

Wang Zhan thought to himself, "I have the Jade Void Space, what am I afraid of?"

But on the surface, he still smiled and said, "Don't worry, once I'm out the door, it's my own business. I'm not one to sit idly by."

The bank manager stopped trying to persuade him and went out to leave. Not long after, several tellers carried in three sacks and placed them at the door. Then the tellers left. The bank manager looked at Wang Zhan and said, "Why are you only bringing this much?"

“I don’t trust your bank, so I won’t count it. I’ll just take it with me. Do I need to sign anything?” Wang Zhan asked.

The bank manager looked at Wang Zhan with appreciation, handed him a form, which Wang Zhan carefully examined, then signed his name and pressed his fingerprint on it.

"Thank you so much, Manager. I'll be going now, I have some things to take care of. See you later." Wang Zhan said, easily lifting one bag in one hand and two bags in the other. The manager was astonished; this young man was so small, yet so strong! The manager stood up and escorted Wang Zhan all the way to the main entrance of the bank. Every teller stared at the young man carrying three money bags, knowing full well how much money that was.

Wang Zhan carried the bag for a while, then suddenly disappeared into a deserted alley. He quickly threw the bag into his spatial storage and breathed a sigh of relief. Although he said that, he was also afraid of trouble. If someone were watching him, there would inevitably be a struggle.

Once relaxed, Wang Zhan found a rickshaw and started wandering around various vegetable markets and supply and marketing cooperatives. He hired the rickshaw so he could ask the driver for directions.

It has to be said that the Sichuan-Chongqing region is indeed rich in resources, which is something that Beijing cannot compare to. Moreover, an important point is that the management of vendors here is not as strict as in Beijing, especially in the suburban vegetable markets, where old farmers sell everything. Wang Zhan's main targets are agricultural products, seeds, livestock, and fruit trees. He will sweep up everything that is for sale.

Wang Zhan was busy until dusk before heading back home. After washing his face and locking the door, he disappeared into the Jade Void Space.

As soon as he entered, Wang Zhan sensed his younger sister. She was making a fence for the chicks at the entrance of the hut, and it was quite impressive. She had been helping him in the east courtyard before, so she must have remembered how to make the fence back then. But what puzzled Wang Zhan was how she made those bamboo strips.

Wang Zhan walked over, and Wang Li saw him too. She called out, "Brother, all you do is throw things here. The yard of the hut is full of them. Look, there are livestock everywhere on the other side of the river. It's so hard for me to find anything."

"Haha, I just haven't had time to come in and tidy up yet. It's okay, you can see your brother's in a bit," Wang Zhan said.

Wang Li was unaware that after taking control of this space, Wang Zhan was like a god here, able to do anything with just a thought, without having to lift a finger.

Then Wang Li witnessed a magical scene: countless bamboo shoots flew over from the mountain behind the cottage, followed by cowsheds, sheep pens, duck farms, chicken coops, and five acres of fertile land on the opposite bank of the river. Various seeds flew out from the cottage's yard and were automatically planted in the soil. Then, dark clouds appeared above the fertile land, and a light drizzle began to fall.

Wang Li ran to her brother's side and asked in surprise, "Brother, how did you do that?"

Wang Zhan picked up Wang Li and walked towards the other side of the river, saying, "Once you also control the jade tablet behind the hot spring, you can do it too."

"Really? You can't be lying to me!" Wang Li said in surprise.

"Why would I lie to you? But you'll have to wait two years, until you're ten years old, before you can master the method of engraving. Otherwise, it will damage your brain. Don't worry, your brother will help you with the engraving process then," Wang Zhan said.

Wang Li nodded heavily and said with a smile, "Haha, let's see how the neighborhood committee will take away my old hen this time. I'll have lots of eggs to eat, no, lots of chickens to eat."

Wang Zhan laughed heartily and said, "Let's do some shopping again tomorrow. This time, let's do it together, and then we'll work together to build our home, okay?"

Wang Li agreed, and then the two of them went to see the livestock.
