Chapter 770 Horus: Something's not right. I refuse to believe we can't break through this

Chapter 770 Horus: Something's not right. I refuse to believe we can't break through this defense!
???

Things started to go wrong.

When the phantom of Horus saw the massive, steel wall that obscured the light of Terra and the stars, his entire figure froze and trembled slightly.

He was numb too:

"Damn it, that's the Empire's newly built defense line?"
"Those two, Roger Dorn and Perturabo, actually have the skill to build defensive fortresses like this?"

The Space Steel Great Wall is a mobile entity, with the giant platform array constantly adjusting its position.

The structures extending from those platform arrays are interconnected, like a vast, interwoven ring.

They surround Terra, tightly guarding the distant airspace; it's a Dyson sphere-like structure, but the object it envelops is the heart of the Empire.

All of this was accomplished in a very short time after the invasion, creating a mobile defensive line!

Everyone knows how difficult it is to deal with such a defensive line, and how much it would cost.

Not to mention Mortalian, even the Dark Emperor himself had a moment of hesitation when he saw the Steel Wall in space.

The defensive line before us is enough to instill fear in any being!
"This is impossible, absolutely impossible!" Horus exclaimed in disbelief, knowing full well the level of those two Primarchs.

They couldn't build a defensive line of this scale, let alone have this kind of construction method.

If Roger Dorn and Perturabo had possessed this level of skill when they built the Terran defenses ten thousand years ago, their armies would not have been able to easily invade Terran.

In fact, Terra's previous defenses could be breached even by Perturabo using the power of the warp, let alone himself, the chosen one of the gods.

However, this steel wall on Terra is now several times larger than the array of space fortresses built by beings like Rogue Dorn, and much of the technology within it is clearly not human.

This is a defense system built by incorporating many alien technologies, making it more robust than the simple Imperial lines.

"Savior, I really underestimated you..." Horus said through gritted teeth.

If this defensive line wasn't created by Roger Dorn and the traitor Perturabo, then the only being capable of building such a line is that savior, the Emperor.

He never expected that such a person would suddenly appear in the empire.

It must be said that the savior was worthy of being an opponent of this dark emperor, and a formidable one at that.

Horus finally understood why the Chaos Gods had gone to such lengths to lure the savior out of the solar system; the other party was indeed a threat.

hum~
At this moment, phantoms of Magnus, Alpharis, Angron, and other corrupted Primarchs appeared and gathered in this area.

"Horus, I have destroyed the deepest psionic barrier on Terra. Now... how do we break through this defense?!"

Magnus, a crimson phantom, crossed his arms and looked arrogantly at the so-called Dark Emperor.

This Wizard King was most skilled at creating holes in the psionic barrier, and it was with his help that the Chaos Gods were able to spread more of their power into the solar system.

He gave Chaos a huge advantage, and now it's Horus's turn to play his part and break through the Imperial defenses. Otherwise, why would they obey that guy as the commander of the Chaos Alliance?

He had just tried to use large-scale witchcraft to attack the Steel Wall in space.

However, when the surging waves of the highest heavens and the fissures capable of tearing apart fortresses reached the vicinity of that defensive line, they were weakened by a barrier formed by some kind of technology.

The chaotic storm created by witchcraft could hardly shake the thick armored walls surrounding it.

That means the current defensive line is difficult to destroy using the power of the Supreme Heaven; the only way is to launch a direct attack.

Not only Magnus, but other corrupted Primarchs also turned their attention to Horus, awaiting the opinion of the Dark Emperor and commander of the Chaos Alliance.

There was no way around it; the steel Great Wall in space built by the saviors was too difficult to withstand. They had never seen it before and didn't know the correct way to attack it.

How to fight this?
All the corrupted Primarchs knew that facing such a defensive line, any misjudgment would result in a devastating blow from the Empire and heavy losses.

They need a well-thought-out attack plan.

Horus remained motionless under the gaze of the fallen Primarchs, though he was drenched in sweat.

Such a massive steel defense line, and a completely new defensive model, made it difficult even for him, an invincible force, to find a suitable offensive plan for the time being.

Horus gazed at the repulsive steel wall of space built by the savior, trying to analyze its weaknesses using his past experience.

However, he only saw one thing: redundancy, utter redundancy!

That means that no matter which angle the Chaos army attacks from, it may encounter an overwhelming defensive force.

This is too difficult! This defensive line is too hard to attack!
Who taught the savior to defend like this? The empire has so many resources and troops it doesn't know where to put them!
Horus felt a chill run down his spine as he faced the savior's overwhelming defense.

This greatly shocked him.

After all, this Dark Emperor was defeated by the Emperor ten thousand years ago and only recently recovered. Even though he has learned about the Empire's information over the years, it is only now that he has a direct understanding of how difficult the Savior is.

That bastard savior is far richer than I imagined. Just how much defensive power does he still have hidden away?
It seems they've dumped all of the Empire's resources into Terra!
Even if an empire has a vast territory and is incredibly wealthy, concentrating its resources is an extremely difficult task.

But what the Fallen Primarchs couldn't have imagined was that the Savior accomplished this through the Web, by opening new shipping routes, and by mobilizing a logistics transport fleet several times larger than the Imperial army.

Today, the logistics department and many planets within the empire still circulate the six-word mantra about the empire's development, which the savior brought from his homeland:

“If you want to be rich, build roads first.”

Compared to building an army, the savior devoted more energy and resources to the empire's infrastructure development, which revitalized the empire and gradually enriched its resources.

This is something that those chaotic beings focused on destruction and devastation find difficult to comprehend.

Regardless, the problem now lies with the Fallen Primarchs: they must breach the Saviors' steel Great Wall in order to attack Terra.

What was originally a plan of annihilation turned into a battle of attrition, causing the once high-spirited and violent momentum of the Chaos army to become subdued.

The corrupted Primarchs were shocked to discover that they seemed to be waging a battle even more difficult than it had been ten thousand years ago.

Although both were siege battles, ten thousand years ago they were able to at least enter Terra and then launch a prolonged siege, plunging the Imperial defenders into extreme distress.

But now, they are stuck on the outskirts of Terra and can't get in. What a disgrace!

Could it be that the savior is even more difficult to deal with than the former emperors, or have they become weaker?

When the gazes of the fallen Primarchs turned to doubt, Horus felt as if he had a thorn in his side and finally spoke.

His voice trembled as he uttered a meaningless statement: "Gentlemen, I'm afraid we'll have to change some of our plans."

Seeing that the Fallen Primarchs' morale had somewhat waned, the Dark Emperor continued:
"This is certainly not easy, but we have no way out."

If we miss this opportunity, the false emperor won't let us off the hook, he won't let anyone here go. You know what that despicable tyrant, that madman, is capable of!

The Fallen Primarchs must use the artifact Shadowlight to dismantle the power of the false Emperor, their father.

Otherwise, once the false emperor recovers or completely loses control, they will all have nowhere to escape and will face the terrifying reckoning of that being.

No one can escape unscathed.

"We are legends of the galaxy. We have overcome countless difficulties, conquered countless worlds, and destroyed countless civilizations, whether human or alien."

Nothing can stop us, not even this defensive line built by the savior.

Horus's gaze was so firm, and a tenacious and indomitable flame was rekindled, just as it had been when he led his army to conquer the galaxy ten thousand years ago.

He emanated boundless fel energy as he stared at the Fallen Primarchs:
"Do you want to admit defeat and slink back to the warp like pathetic losers?"
no way!

We will let blood stain the skies of Terra, slaying the false emperor and the savior!

This Dark Emperor was adept at uniting people, and he quickly turned the somber atmosphere around. The chaotic beings raised their weapons and roared, spreading an aura of violence:
"Slay the false emperor! Slay the savior!" Countless chaotic beings, stretching to the horizon, roared in defiance, a truly awe-inspiring sight.

They exuded an intense aura of power.

That means the war is not yet over, and they still have a chance to turn the tide.

Chaos never compromises; it's all about slaughter and war!
"Savior, what has become of the Chaos Abominations?"

However, such an indomitable roar left the imperial commanders observing the area somewhat puzzled.

Aren't the Chaos Abominations invaders, aggressively seeking to destroy Holy Terra?

Why does it seem like the Empire is the villain, the one who oppressed them?!

Of course, any being facing the terrifying steel defenses built by the savior would feel that the other party is insane and bullying people.

Unbeknownst to them, the Great Wall of Steel in space, built by the Savior, has transformed the balance of power between the Empire and Chaos.

Moreover, under the influence of the Savior, the Imperial Guards dared not underestimate their enemy, for they knew that the Chaos Gods possessed terrifying power.

Any oversight could lead to a crisis in their defenses, or even a complete collapse.

If you don't have a 90% or higher chance of winning, what's the difference between that and a defeat? Nobody can afford to lose this battle!
Inside the Chaos Palace, Horus sat on his throne, reviewing the data about the Space Steel Wall that had been collected from mid-air.

His eyes were bloodshot, and his hands were trembling slightly from the pressure.

This is a tough battle!
He hadn't fought such a difficult battle in a long time. Although the Savior wasn't in Terra, his shadow was everywhere.

"Savior, you are not my only opponent, nor will you be my last!" Horus's eyes were filled with fighting spirit. He believed he could find the key to victory and destroy the defenses built by the Savior.

He was engulfed in a raging inferno, and with the help of his powerful mind, experience, and the chief archduke Tzeentch, he searched for the weak points of the Great Steel Wall in space.

No defense is invincible. Even the terrifying defenses of the Ran Dan Xenomorph, once a formidable enemy of humanity, were breached.
At the time, Leon and the others were at a loss, but it was he who sent the son of Horus with a plan to defeat the enemy, which finally led to their destruction.

This is the real reason why Horus was appointed Warmaster by the Emperor: not only his personal charisma, but also his belief and methods in winning any battle!

The Dark Emperor stared at the massive virtual sandbox in mid-air, where images of the Great Wall of Steel in space flashed by in milliseconds.

The massive defensive line's firepower had sealed off all airspace, making it difficult for the Chaos army to approach.

Once the Chaos army steps in, it will face terrifying air defense attacks and suffer heavy losses.

He must find the most likely route from hundreds of thousands of possible options to break into the steel Great Wall of space.

Only in this way will the Chaos Allied Army have a chance to corrupt or destroy that defensive line, allowing New Dragon Forest to strike the Terra Palace.

Only then do these corrupted Primarchs have the chance to fight their way to the throne!
"I found it."

Suddenly, Horus slowly raised his head, a sinister and terrifying glint in his eyes. He had found a plan to breach the Great Wall of Steel in space.

Once they break into its interior, the Imperial defenders inside will lose their shield and face direct attacks from the Chaos Beings. They can also use human blood and corpses to summon a continuous stream of Chaos reinforcements from within!
The defenses that the savior has painstakingly built will be completely destroyed by Chaos, which will bring immense losses to the empire.

That guy probably spent decades or even centuries building such a massive defensive line, but Chaos destroyed it in just a few days!
This Dark Emperor, through his unparalleled military prowess and the immense power of chaos, turned the impossible into the possible.

Although this will come at a price, the last magnificent line of defense protecting Terra will fall completely!
In an instant, hundreds or even thousands of orders were issued.

Mottled black clouds that stretched for thousands of kilometers in the void began to gather and move, and countless evils surged forth.

Those were all aerial units of the Chaos Alliance army, loaded with demons.

Some powerful Chaos Demons float directly in the void; they don't need to breathe and are unfazed by the harsh vacuum environment.

Then, this terrifying wave swept towards the steel Great Wall of Space at top speed, almost without reservation.

They want to launch a surprise landing!

The Great Wall of Steel in Space: The Command Headquarters of the Thirteenth Theater Command.

Holmes, the commander of the Sun's auxiliary army, held his breath as he watched the army of Chaos Abominations gather in the void and rush towards him, filling his entire field of vision.

From his perspective, it was as if a mottled, chaotic tsunami was engulfing him, leaving him nowhere to escape.

Not only him, but the other Sun Auxiliary Army soldiers also felt considerable mental pressure. Everyone knew what it meant for so many Chaos beings to rush into the defensive line.

"All firepower aimed at the F1356 optical area, unrestricted fire!"

Fortunately, they were not fighting alone. Soon, communication came through, and Holmes gave the order to attack.

Boom boom boom!
Instantly, Holmes and the others felt the heavens and earth tremble as tens of thousands of fortress-like giant cannons in the Thirteenth War Zone suddenly opened fire.

With such dense firepower, there's no need for aiming; just full coverage is enough.

The firepower that bombarded the Chaos front was like flames falling on an ant colony; each shot struck a large number of Chaos Abomination air units.

Even the Chaos Warships and the Corruption Beasts were destroyed one after another.

This is perhaps the largest space war in the galaxy's history, with warships and aerial units falling every moment, and no one cares.

In just a moment of battle, the Chaos Allied Army suffered heavy losses.

But they quickly launched a counterattack, with countless streams of pus, colorful flames, and mist spreading to block the Empire's incoming firepower.

A wall of fire, plasma, and fel energy formed between the two sides, continuously advancing towards the defensive line of the Space Steel Wall.

The detestable artillery fire from Xinlonglinxing attacked from the void, disrupting the firepower of the Great Wall of Steel.

Each hit puts immense pressure on the shield, even causing some turret clusters to be destroyed.

"A loving father's blessing!"

"Ah, fate has shown us the way to victory!"

"Blood sacrifice to the Blood God, skull offering to the skull seat, charge! Charge!"

The Chaos Allied Army, braving the Imperial defenders' artillery fire, launched a suicidal charge, a truly tragic and heroic endeavor.

The vanguard withstood all the artillery fire, covering the assault troops behind them, while the formation was constantly shifted under the control of the Dark Emperor.

Thus, opportunities for success are created little by little.

Horus sits on the throne, and with the help of the Tzeentch archdemons, he has gained limitless mental abilities and can command all armies.

Every moment, tens of thousands, or even more, of orders are issued, so much so that the movement of every large unit must be calculated precisely.

It was even precise enough to move the muzzle of a single dark engine dozens of meters to the left flank.

Micro-management, ruthless micro-management, only in this way is there any possibility of victory!
"Savior!"

The Dark Emperor gritted his teeth, his eyes welling with tears. He had never fought such a difficult and costly battle.

When poor, they employ micro-management; when rich, they unleash overwhelming firepower. When has the army of the Chaos Gods ever been so meticulously calculating?!

They fought with all their might to defeat the terrifying space defenses built by the savior!
The entire solar system is now illuminated by fel energy and gunfire, and every moment countless chaotic beings are destroyed and returned to the warp.

However, as the chaotic beings approached the Great Wall of Space, the violence, anger, and desire in their hearts continued to spread and rise.

They knew they were not far from unbridled torture and slaughter, and that they would soon see the dawn of victory.

Behind the steel walls lie vibrant human lives, ready to satisfy their long-suppressed anger and desires!
