Radio commands are much easier to handle. As long as the radar has multi-target tracking capabilities, it is not difficult to use appropriate coding methods in radio commands and command multiple missiles at the same time.
Coincidentally, pulse Doppler radar happens to have the capability of multi-target tracking.
