The Red Era: Living in Seclusion in a Siheyuan as a Boss

Chapter 643 Liujiazhuang Charity Association!!!

Chapter 643 Liujiazhuang Charity Association!!!

If he could obtain the legendary "Yamashita Fengwen Treasure", even Liu Zhiye, who possessed the Liu family's huge wealth, would inevitably be tempted by it.

It’s not that Liu Zhiye is greedy, but the responsibility he shoulders is really heavy.

As the helmsman of the Liu family, he not only has to maintain the family's prosperity and decline, honor and disgrace, but also has to shoulder the mission of "taking care of oneself when poor, and helping the world when rich."

This heavy responsibility forces him to constantly think about how to better use the wealth in his hands to benefit more people.

Liu Zhiye and the entire Liu family did this.

For example, the "Liujiazhuang Charity Association" established in the early 1980s was an organization established at the request of Liu Zhiye.

The purpose of the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation" is to promote the humanitarian spirit, promote the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation of helping the poor and the needy, help the lonely, old, sick, disabled, young and other people in society who have difficulties in life... and ensure the development of careers and charity.

When the Liujiazhuang "charity organization" was first established, it was a critical period in the counterattack against the "ungrateful people".

At that time, Liu Zhiye was stationed on the southern front line, making strategic plans.

His intention to promote the establishment of a charity in Liujiazhuang is self-evident.

After nearly twenty years of vigorous development, the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation" has not only become the first national public welfare organization in Xiaguo named "Charity", but also marked the beginning of the revival of Xiaguo's modern charity.

From its inception to its growth, from its development to its maturity, every step of the growth of the Charity Federation embodies Liu Zhiye and the people of Liujiazhuang's persistent pursuit and earnest expectations for charity.

Along with the rapid development of Liujiazhuang's economy, the progress of social civilization and the continuous improvement of policies and regulations, the Charity Federation has always adhered to its original intention and forged ahead.

In the process of exploring the development model of modern charity, it has set up a benchmark with exemplary significance.

It is particularly worth mentioning that at the first member representative conference of the Charity Federation, the first president Liu Yuansheng, who is Liu Zhiye’s uncle, put forward the far-sighted concept of establishing the association: "Based on the local, looking at the world, facing the future, and promoting the development of charity in the direction of formalization, organization and socialization."

The proposal of this ambitious goal has laid a solid foundation for the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation" to establish its status as a national non-governmental charity organization in the future.

……

"I am disabled, but I am not a useless person. As a disabled person, I should be able to be disabled but not useless."

One day, Yu Dalong, a blind man and first-class hero in Beiheshi City's self-defense counterattack against the "ungrateful wolves", expressed his true feelings when talking to a reporter who came to interview him.

In the long river of history, heroes always shine.

Yu Dalong, who is nearly 40 years old, is a retired soldier in Shishi City. He was seriously injured during the "Two Mountains War".

After retiring, as a veteran and a blind man, in order not to add burden to the country, he worked hard to improve himself and insisted on starting a business.

After the Liujiazhuang Charity Association learned of Yu Dalong's deeds, they provided timely assistance.

With the help of the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation", Yu Dalong achieved one success after another on the road to entrepreneurship through tenacious struggle, and wrote an extraordinary entrepreneurial story with wisdom and perseverance.

In December 1983, Yu Dalonglong enlisted in the army and served in a certain unit.

In early 1985, he went to the L Mountain front to participate in the self-defense counterattack against the "White-Eyed Wolf" and joined the Party in July of the same year.

On July 7 of that year, the enemy launched an operation code-named M19 and attacked our position No. 2.

Position No. 577 is the most forward position in the Nara area on the L Mountain front, and Post No. 6 is the most prominent post of Position No. 577. Therefore, Post No. 6 became the enemy's primary target of attack.

The sentry post is a unique defensive fortification during the Two Mountains War.

Due to the local lava landform characteristics, our army is unable to build defensive positions such as trenches and communication trenches on the high ground. They can only rely on the original natural caves and cracks in the rocks on the high ground to reinforce tunnels and arrange firing points. Each post can only accommodate 2 to 5 soldiers. The posts are connected into lines and lines into surfaces, and they take turns to provide cover for defense.

当时负责6号哨位防御的是6连2排4班的5名战士,于大龙就在其中。

At 19 a.m. on the 5th, the enemy launched a concentrated artillery attack on post No. 6.

Yu Dalong was mainly responsible for observing the enemy's movements at the sentry post, while the rest of the personnel entered the tunnel to avoid the artillery fire.

At this time, the five soldiers did not know that the enemy forces in front of them consisted of as many as two battalions and a reinforced company, with a total of about 5 people.

Soon after, the enemy's artillery fire began to extend into the depth of position 577, intending to prevent our reinforcements from reaching post No. 6. Then the enemy infantry began to pour densely into post No. 6.

All soldiers took up their respective combat positions and called for artillery fire support via walkie-talkies.

After 10 minutes of fierce fighting, Squad 4 repelled the enemy's first attack.

But before the soldiers of Squad 4 could catch their breath, enemy shells rained down on them again.

As the soldiers of squad 4 had not yet had time to return to the tunnel, a shell exploded not far from Yu Dalong. Miao Tinglong was hit by multiple shrapnel, blinded in both eyes, and fell directly on the position.

Although he was injured in the battle, the soldiers at post No. 6 effectively dealt a heavy blow to the enemy's frenzied attack.

After the war, Yu Dalong was awarded the first-class merit and was rated as a first-class disabled soldier.

“Although I was blinded in the battle, I came back alive after all.”

After retiring, the first thing Yu Dalong did was to visit the parents of his fellow countryman Sun Xiaohai who had died in battle.

Sun Xiaohai's sister Sun Xiaomei was moved by the heroic deeds of the hero Yu Dalong and decided to marry Yu Dalong and take care of him for the rest of her life.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, Yu Dalong and Sun Xiaomei got married with the blessings of their relatives and friends.

At this time, they had only known each other for 8 months.

At that time, their wedding room was also very simple. A comb, a mirror, a blanket, and two camp beds put together were considered their wedding belongings.

The most suitable job for the blind is blind massage, and Yu Dalong also chose this path.

Later, with the help of the Liujiazhuang Charity Federation, Yu Dalong came to study in the massage secondary school class of the affiliated hospital of the Yenching University of Chinese Medicine in Liujiazhuang.

After entering this training school, the first problem Yu Dalong needed to solve was to master Braille in the shortest possible time.

This was a difficult problem for Yu Dalong. The reason was simple: he had been a soldier for many years and his hands were covered with thick calluses. He could not feel anything when touching the Braille.

What to do? Yu Dalong came up with a stupid idea. He squatted down and rubbed his fingers repeatedly on the hard cement road until all the calluses fell off and tender flesh grew back.

In just two years, Yu Dalong relied on his extraordinary willpower to master 2 courses and nearly 23 words of medical textbooks and successfully obtained a technical secondary school diploma.

After graduation, Yu Dalong returned to his hometown and opened a massage clinic with the help of the Liujiazhuang Charity Federation.

When he first opened his clinic, Yu Dalong was not famous and had no business, so he provided treatment for free, and this lasted for more than a year.

During this period, he had almost no income and lived on the meager income of his wife Sun Xiaomei and the subsidies from the Liujiazhuang Charity Federation.

At that time, their children wore old clothes that others didn’t want, and they ate meat only a few times. Sometimes they would even eat the same dish for two months.

No matter how difficult life is, we have to go on.

Having provided free massage to the public for many years, Yu Dalong has won many titles such as "Model Worker" at the provincial, municipal and county levels and "Outstanding Party Member" at the municipal level.

Later, Yu Dalong became more famous and his massage business gradually became popular. Yu Dalong continued to engage in his "old business" of massage, and his wife Sun Xiaomei also worked as a cashier in his own store. The family's lives have since been completely improved.

In order to improve his massage skills for the blind, a few years ago, Yu Dalong enrolled in the massage college class of "Yenching University of Chinese Medicine" and obtained a college diploma. His skills have been further improved, and there is an endless stream of people coming to see him for treatment.

Based on his many years of experience in treating patients, Yu Dalong wrote papers such as "Clinical Report of 76 Cases of Acute Lumbar Sprain" and "Neck and Shoulder Syndrome", and also trained more than a dozen apprentices.

"The most beautiful soldier" Wang Kai was born in a quiet little village in Nanhu.

In March 1978, with a sincere heart to serve the motherland, he resolutely enlisted in the army and was assigned to serve in a border defense regiment in western Guangdong, thus beginning his military career.

The following year, amid the flames of the self-defense counterattack in the southern border of the motherland, Wang Kai volunteered to carry out a dangerous reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines.

Amidst the hail of bullets, he successfully obtained key intelligence with his extraordinary courage and military skills.

However, during the retreat, in order to cover his comrades, Wang Kai was unfortunately ambushed by the enemy and was seriously injured.

After all-out rescue efforts, the young soldier managed to save his life, but he lost his left calf and four fingers forever.

Wang Kai, who struggled back from the brink of death, demonstrated the responsibility of a soldier with his blood and loyalty. The army awarded him the third-class military merit and approved him to join the party with honor.

At that time, according to the national preferential policy, he was rated as a third-level disabled soldier and could have enjoyed lifelong support in the provincial veterans hospital and lived a life without worries about food and clothing.

But Wang Kai was not content with this and chose to return to his hometown to work.

After returning to his hometown, Wang Kai was assigned to work in the city’s No. 1 Agricultural Machinery Company.

A few years ago, this agricultural machinery company went bankrupt, and Wang Kai and his wife were both laid off.

As a courageous soldier, Wang Kai faced difficulties head-on.

In 1993, with the help of the Liujiazhuang Charity Federation, Wang Kai chose to take out an interest-free loan of 100,000 yuan from Jingxi Bank and founded the Chengxin Agricultural Machinery Management Company.

Starting a business is not easy.

In the early days, Wang Kai was responsible for the purchase, delivery, installation and maintenance of agricultural machinery.

In order to investigate the market and find good sources of goods, he dragged his disabled body across the country and he could not remember how many nights he had spent on the floor of the train station.

Once, Wang Kai accidentally learned that a rice noodle machine produced by a food machinery factory in Shengqu City, Yunnan Province, produced particularly good rice noodles.

Wang Kai immediately boarded the green train to Yunnan Province with tens of thousands of yuan in cash.

After standing for more than 20 hours without sleep, by the time Wang Kai found the manufacturer, the skin on the joints of his prosthesis had been worn out and his left calf was swollen like a carrot.

Seeing this, the factory manager was deeply moved.

Therefore, when the supply was tight, they only collected half of the payment from Wang Kai and let him take away 60 rice noodle machines.

He also took the initiative to help him rent a truck locally to transport the goods back to Nanhu.

From Yunnan Province to Nanhu, it took four days and three nights. Wang Kai curled up and slept in the co-pilot's seat every night to guard the cargo.

By the time the car arrived, he could no longer stand.

Fortunately, the 60 rice noodle machines were quickly sold out, and he earned his first pot of gold.

Until last year, Wang Kai's Chengxin Agricultural Machinery Business Department was upgraded to the Municipal Zhenxing Agricultural Machinery Sales Co., Ltd., which represented 12 well-known agricultural machinery brands and more than 60 categories.

This year, Wang Kai, who is nearly 40 years old, made another bold decision to return to the village to establish the Rongjun Agricultural Machinery Cooperative.

This decision was strongly opposed by the whole family.

But Wang Kai was very persistent. He said: "I don't want to see my fellow villagers worrying about 100 yuan anymore."

With the passion and responsibility of a retired veteran, he embarked on a new journey of rural revitalization.

"The development of our area is slower than that of other districts and counties. Every time I go back to my hometown, I feel sad when I see old people plowing the fields with oxen. We are 10 years behind others." Wang Kai found village cadres to discuss ideas for rural revitalization.

The village cadres said: “There are many elderly people in the village, and their acceptance of modern agricultural machinery is not that high at the moment.

Can we start with other retired soldiers in the village and help them get on the road to prosperity first? "

Wang Kai acted immediately and soon led seven retired soldiers to establish the Veterans Agricultural Machinery Cooperative, providing farming, planting, harvesting and drying services to surrounding rice farmers.

Although he has left the military camp, the belief of serving the people and contributing to society has always been rooted in Wang Kai's heart.

Wang Kai himself is also a beneficiary of the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation". He follows the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation" and extracts public welfare funds from the surplus every year for welfare undertakings: purchasing accident insurance for villagers and veterans with poor family conditions, subsidizing students whose parents are disabled to go to school, and providing assistance to the elderly, the weak, the sick and the disabled, veterans and their families in the village by charging less or no operating fees.

Gao Yaping was born in August 1962 in Shazhou County, Jiangbei District. He joined the army in 8 and joined the "Hard-Boned Sixth Company" which was then affiliated with the Jinling Military Region.

This company has a long history. It participated in many battles in the Anti-Japanese War and the War of Liberation, demonstrated a tenacious fighting spirit, and cultivated countless heroes.

Since its establishment in March 1939, the "Hard-Boned Sixth Company" was based on 3 Red Army backbones. It has experienced the long years of war and continued to complete important tasks until its establishment in the new summer.

Whether in fighting against the epidemic or responding to natural disasters, the Sixth Company has repeatedly won recognition from its superiors with its firm will and outstanding performance.

In 1964, the Sixth Company was awarded the honorable title of "Hard-Boned Sixth Company" by the headquarters. This was not only a recognition of the troops, but also a heavy responsibility.

As a member of this heroic force, Gao Yaping has never let this responsibility be shamed.

With the training of the army and the help of his comrades, Gao Yaping grew rapidly, took on the position of squad leader without hesitation, and gloriously joined the party soon after.

1984 was an important turning point for Gao Yaping.

In July of that year, his unit was sent to the front line to participate in the famous "Two Mountains Battle".

The soldiers of the Sixth Company displayed their traditional heroic qualities, dared to face difficulties and obstacles, continuously repelled the enemy's attacks, and completed a number of difficult tasks such as holding their positions and retaking high ground.

Despite the final victory, the Sixth Company also paid a heavy price, including Gao Yaping.

January 1985, 1, this day became the most unforgettable moment in Gao Yaping's life.

In the afternoon, the Sixth Company received orders to destroy several hidden fire points of the enemy and quickly retreat after completing the mission.

During the mission, Gao Yaping's squad was tasked with holding position 172 and observing the enemy situation.

Although the enemy's firepower points were quickly destroyed under our fierce artillery attack and the soldiers began to retreat in an orderly manner, the enemy did not give up and concentrated its firepower to launch a fierce counterattack.

The battlefield was filled with artillery fire and became like hell.

Gao Yaping acted quickly and led the soldiers to evacuate in an orderly manner amid a hail of bullets.

However, he discovered that one soldier still had not retreated in time and was in danger of heavy fire.

Gao Yaping rushed back to the position without hesitation and pulled the soldiers into the bunker at great risk.

At the tense moment, Gao Yaping handed the submachine gun to his comrade and prepared to enter the bunker himself, but he failed to avoid the enemy's incoming artillery shells in time. The explosion occurred instantly and he was seriously injured on the spot and lost consciousness.

After being in a coma for five days and five nights, Gao Yaping was rushed to a rear hospital for treatment. During this period, he was transferred to three hospitals and underwent seven operations. Finally, he miraculously survived.

However, due to the severity of his injuries, Gao Yaping lost both legs and his left hand, becoming a disabled soldier.

His injuries became one of the most serious combat injuries since the self-defense counterattack.

The combat hero Gao Yaping was awarded the first-class merit and became a special disabled soldier. Although his body was left with permanent scars, his spirit was never defeated.

After recovering from his injury, Gao Yaping took off his military uniform and returned to his hometown. Although his body was no longer suitable for continuing to serve, he did not give up. Instead, he started a new chapter in his life with a strong will.

After Gao Yaping returned to his hometown, he entered university to study literature with the arrangement of the organization and the help of the "Liujiazhuang Charity Association".

During the arduous learning process, Gao Yaping upheld the fighting spirit of a soldier, overcame numerous difficulties, and finally graduated successfully.

Although Gao Yaping is no longer involved in military work, he has achieved success in the business world through his strong willpower and indomitable spirit.

After graduation, Gao Yaping founded his own company with the help of the Liujiazhuang Charity Federation, specializing in fire-fighting equipment.

With diligence and integrity, Gao Yaping's company gradually grew from a small store to a chain enterprise, and he also became a successful figure in the local business community.

It is worth mentioning that he also found his own love during this period.

It was while he was recuperating in Shanghai that a report about his deeds caught the attention of a young female worker, Wang Xiulan.

Moved by Gao Yaping's heroic deeds, she decided to go to Shanghai in person to take care of him.

After getting to know each other, the two finally got married and formed a happy family.

Yu Dalong, Wang Kai, Gao Yaping...these people are not isolated cases.

Over the years, the "Liujiazhuang Charity Federation" has been like a beacon, illuminating the way forward for countless people in distress, helping them regain hope and embrace a happy life.

From solving the problem of food and clothing to funding education, from medical assistance to employment support, this relay of love has never stopped, passing on warmth to everyone's heart.
