This top guy is crazy!

Above the clouds, Guanyin Bodhisattva looked down with her wise eyes and believed that before Bai Suzhen committed the terrible mistake of flooding Jinshan Temple, she had been practicing medicine and saving countless lives, accumulating profound merit.

The suffering endured for twenty years under the pagoda has been enough to atone for past sins.

With compassion arising, the Bodhisattva nodded: "The calamity has been completed; it is time."

Then, a decree was silently transmitted to Fahai, who was in meditation, ordering him to go to Leifeng Pagoda and await orders.

Then, Guanyin Bodhisattva, holding a vase and willow branch, descended slowly on a lotus platform.

Fahai was already waiting respectfully by his side, his hands clasped together. The Bodhisattva's voice was clear and resonant, containing supreme majesty: "Fahai, Bai Suzhen's karmic ties are severed, her tribulation is complete. Quickly open the pagoda gates and release her!"

Fahai received the order, and with a flick of his golden bowl towards the pagoda, the heavy pagoda doors burst open.

Xu Shilin rushed forward, and the mother and son embraced, tears streaming down their faces.

After leaving the pagoda, Bai Suzhen arrived at Jinshan Temple and met her husband, Xu Xian.

However, Xu Xian at this time was no longer the spirited young man he once was. His temples were gray, his expression was wooden, and he seemed to care little about anything.

Thus, the thousand-year-old feud and love affair finally came to a perfect end.

Twenty years have not left any marks on Bai Suzhen's face, but her state of mind has changed greatly. Her daily worship of Buddha and chanting of scriptures has made her more peaceful and tolerant in dealing with people and things.

Like Bai Suzhen, Xiaoqing's resentment has also been greatly diminished. Facing her former nemesis Fahai and Prime Minister Liang, she no longer harbors hatred in her eyes. His wife even begs Xiaoqing to save him.

Now that Fahai has achieved perfect merit, he no longer opposes the sisters.

The emperor of the time had heard of Bai Suzhen's deeds and also heard that a Bodhisattva appeared on the day she emerged from the pagoda, so he issued an edict to summon this legendary Lady White.

Above the golden palace, Bai Suzhen, dressed in simple white robes, possessed an ethereal and otherworldly charm. Her unparalleled beauty and dignified demeanor astonished even the emperor, who was accustomed to seeing beauties, and he secretly praised her, saying, "Seeing is believing."

What moved the emperor even more was that when Liang Xiangguo, who was still in the imperial prison, was mentioned, Bai Suzhen showed no resentment whatsoever. Instead, she pleaded with the emperor to consider his advanced age and pardon his crime.

The emperor exclaimed, "People say that demons and monsters are terrifying, but although you are an anomaly, you have a benevolent heart and perform righteous deeds. You are truly a 'righteous demon' unlike any other in history!"

He then issued two decrees: first, to pardon Prime Minister Liang; second, to order historians to compile Bai Suzhen's deeds in detail into a book entitled "The Tale of the Righteous Demon," to be distributed throughout the land so that her good name would be remembered forever.

After meeting the Emperor, Bai Suzhen returned to Qiantang County. Having gone through so many twists and turns, she had fulfilled her initial wish to repay the debt of gratitude.

Guanyin Bodhisattva enlightened him at the right time, telling him that his earthly ties were about to end: after Xu Shilin and his cousin Li Bilian, to whom he had been betrothed since childhood, completed their royal marriage, it would be the day when he would achieve perfect merit and ascend to the heavenly realm.

Meanwhile, the precept-abiding and ultimately virtuous Master Fahai, the kind and honest Xu Xian who has accumulated ten lifetimes of good karma, and Xiaoqing who has cleansed herself of her evil and is single-mindedly devoted to the Dao, all have the right conditions to ascend to the heavens together.

On the wedding day, Qiantang County was decorated with lanterns and colorful streamers, and the sound of gongs and drums filled the air. The dragon and lion dance troupes brought the festive atmosphere to its peak.

Inside the top scholar's residence, red candles burned brightly, and joy filled the air.

Witnessed and blessed by a hall full of guests, Xu Shilin, dressed in a bright red wedding gown, and Li Bilian, dressed in a phoenix coronet and embroidered robe, performed three bows to complete the wedding ceremony.

Xu Xian, Fahai, Bai Suzhen, and Xiaoqing were standing together under one roof when a beam of golden light descended from the sky, and then the four of them rose into the air.

In mid-air, Xu Xian, Fahai, Bai Suzhen, and Xiaoqing smiled as they bid their final farewell to the people and affairs of the mortal world. Then, auspicious clouds carried them higher and higher until they disappeared from sight.

Years later, the legend of the righteous demon White Snake became known to more and more people and has been passed down through the ages.

With this, "The Legend of the White Snake" finally came to an end.
