This top guy is crazy!

Chapter 612 Dramatic Moments on Set

Three months later, on the film set in Serbia.

In a futuristic "laboratory," the crew of "Lucy" is filming a scene.

At this point, half a month had passed since filming began for "Lucy," and one-quarter of the film had been completed.

Outside the "laboratory," a crisscrossing steel frame structure is exposed, covered with various cables, tracks, and suspension equipment. A huge green screen hangs from the top, dividing the performance area into different zones.

The film set was packed with people speaking all sorts of languages.

Behind the monitor, the man in the beret was communicating rapidly with various departments through an earpiece, gesturing with his hands to indicate camera movement. A female translator stood beside him, quickly translating his instructions.

On camera, Wang Hong is wearing a black, tight-fitting motion capture suit covered with sensors, performing various movements.

In the special effects preview area, several white special effects supervisors were gathered around a huge touchscreen, which displayed real-time motion data of Wang Hong captured by cameras, overlaid with preliminary special effects previews.

After a moment, the beret-wearing man raised his hand in a gesture:

"Cut! That was good! Five-minute break, get ready for the next round!"

Wang Hong let out a long sigh of relief, almost collapsing from exhaustion.

Her assistant immediately stepped forward to drape a towel over her shoulders and offer her a drink.

Kevin, the assistant director who had been intently watching the monitor on the sidelines, also stood up and clapped his hands vigorously: "Good job!!!"

“It’s breathtaking, darling,” a deliberately magnetic voice rang out as Lex, who played an Interpol agent in the show, walked up to Wang Hong.

He made no attempt to conceal his gaze as he examined Wang Hong's curves outlined by the motion capture suit, his tone flippant: "I must say, your performance was absolutely fantastic, powerful and so... captivating. Audiences will go crazy for you."

Lex was around thirty years old and had blond hair.

He had spent many years in Hollywood, mostly playing supporting roles, but he considered himself exceptionally charismatic.

Wang Hong glanced at him sideways, her eyes icy.

In the past few days, she has been subjected to numerous opportunistic "compliments" and suggestive invitations from Lex, but for the sake of the film, she did not react on the spot, but selectively ignored them.

She didn't want to delay the film's progress because of this idiot.

Therefore, when faced with Lex's advances, Wang Hong also chose to pretend she didn't see him.

Lex, however, didn't seem to care. Instead, he felt that this Eastern beauty was shy and reserved, and needed to be conquered by him. He leaned forward slightly, lowered his voice, and his smile became even more ambiguous:
"You're too modest. I'm sure there's a touching story behind your beautiful figure. How about we grab a drink after work? I know a great little bar in the old town."

The staff around seemed used to this, glancing at it briefly before continuing with their own tasks.

Such casual relationships are not uncommon on Hollywood film sets, and as long as they don't affect work, no one will meddle.

Wang Hong's assistant stepped forward, looking at Lex warily.

Wang Hong is currently in the prime of her career, and she cannot allow such flies to disturb her.

Just as she was about to remind Lex to keep his distance, Buck walked over and pushed Lex aside:
"Hey Lex! Stop bothering our heroine, she needs to focus on the next scene, okay? Save your charm for the camera, man."

Buck was the action director, a high-ranking figure on set. Lex was a little embarrassed by his retort, but he didn't dare to argue back. He could only shrug and force a nonchalant smile.
“I was just being friendly, Buck. No ill intentions.”

Then, he winked at Wang Hong and said, "Maybe next time." With that, he walked away dejectedly.

Buck then turned to Wang Hong, his tone softening: "You're okay? I wasn't meddling, was I?"

Wang Hong shook her head and said:
"No, you don't. I'm not interested in that white sex addict pervert's little dick."

Buck doubted he had heard correctly.

He quickly glanced around to make sure no one could hear his earth-shattering remark before letting out a shocked growl:

"Holy shit! What the hell are you doing?! King, maybe that's acceptable in your country, but this is Hollywood!"

'White skin' is racially offensive! 'Sex addiction' is an insult to people with mental health issues! And 'small dick' is blatant body shaming combined with gender racism.

If someone overheard what you just said, recorded it on their phone, and posted it online, your career could be over! The media will criticize you relentlessly! The public will boycott you!
You can hate him, you can reject him, you can even call him an idiot, but you absolutely cannot use these kinds of words! Especially not words containing racial or physical attacks! Understand?! This is serious!

Wang Hong curled her lip indifferently, a hint of contempt flashing in her eyes.

Her boss, Cheng Cheng, wasn't he also boycotted by Hollywood back then?

Multiple renowned directors publicly criticized him, top actors jointly boycotted him, and the media made headlines for weeks, creating a massive uproar as if they wanted to completely expel him from the film industry. Many people vowed to "ban this unruly Easterner," asserting that he would never be able to establish himself in Hollywood again.

But what's the result?

These people still have to cater to her boss's whims, fawning over the IPs he develops and the movies he invests in, even to the point of bowing down to him. Strength is the only true measure of success!
Wang Hong doesn't care about any of that.

Hollywood's unspoken rules and industry taboos are all bullshit in her eyes.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the unspoken rules in the Chinese entertainment industry are completely worthless.

She said:

"It doesn't matter. Let people spread it if they want. Maybe it will even generate some buzz for the movie."

With that, she went to prepare for the next scene.

Wang Hong is now focusing all her attention on "Lucy".

She came to Hollywood not to sleep with people—and certainly not to play a minor role like Lex. She wanted to use this film to impress Cheng Cheng and, more importantly, to thoroughly humiliate Wen Lian's hypocritical facade.

Even when it comes to sleeping together, she only wants to sleep with one person.

However, that person refused to leave with her for the time being, but she believed that everything would be different after "Lucy" was released.

Fortunately, the release of "Lucy" won't be too long.

Buck watched Wang Hong's retreating figure, his lips twitching:

He thought Wang Hong was the typical timid and cautious Chinese actress, and was worried that Lex would take advantage of her. He didn't expect her to be such a troublemaker.

He is also a latent racist.

This is outrageous! This is outrageous!
Buck decided that from now on he should focus more on teaching action choreography techniques and get less involved in these messy things on set. He thought he was helping them, but to them, it was probably no trouble at all. (End of Chapter)
