Chapter 484: Morning Court

"What about the salary?"

A three-yellow plum!
If Yu Qingyi were given the clothes to use again, maybe he would be able to break through to the innate realm!
He still likes Sanhuangli very much.

"The precious medicine will be distributed monthly, and someone will deliver it to Marquis Jing'an's residence in due time. The Sanhuang plums can only be distributed after the harvest in October!" Lei Qiang said.

Yang Zhengshan's eyes flickered, "Where is Sanhuangli?"

"Three Valleys!" Lei Qiang said directly without any intention of hiding anything.

"Oh!" Yang Zhengshan looked surprised again.

It seems that these three valleys are a blessed place. No wonder the court chose the three valleys as the residence for innate warriors.

Then Yang Zhengshan left the room with the Xiantian Order.

After this trip, I got a Innate Order, but this Innate Order is still very useful.

You can freely enter and exit the Zanggong Pavilion and the Three Valleys.

Yang Zhengshan walked out of the Fengxian Hall, thought for a while, and then walked towards the Canggong Pavilion.

Canggong Pavilion is located to the west of the imperial city, just west of Wuying Palace. It is a four-story pavilion with its own courtyard and can be entered directly from Xihua Gate.

Yang Zhengshan, holding the Xiantian Order, easily passed the inspection of the imperial army and entered the Canggong Pavilion.

"This must be Marquis Jing'an, right? Our Wang Shu has met Marquis Jing'an!"

As soon as Yang Zhengshan stepped into the Canggong Pavilion, an old eunuch came up to him with a smile.

Wang Shu! This name seems to be taking advantage of me!

Yang Zhengshan complained in his heart, but smiled and said, "Meet Eunuch Wang!"

"I dare not, I dare not, please, my lord!"

"My Lord, this is your first time to visit the Cang Gong Pavilion. Would you mind if I could take you around?" Wang Shu was very enthusiastic.

"I couldn't ask for more. I'll trouble you, Eunuch Wang!"

"Haha, no trouble!"

Then, Wang Shu took Yang Zhengshan to visit the Canggong Pavilion.

There are many books in the Canggong Pavilion, one of which is the body-building exercises. There are countless kinds of exercises, as many as tens of thousands.

The second level is for the acquired realm techniques. There are much fewer acquired realm techniques, only more than 800 kinds. However, there are also many cultivation experiences here, which are all the cultivation experiences left by the predecessors.

The third floor is for the innate skills, of which there are only ninety-two kinds, but the bookshelves on the third floor are still full, because there are more experiences in cultivation here.

"What kind of martial arts does the Marquis practice?"

After browsing the three floors, Wang Shu asked.

"Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong!" Yang Zhengshan said.

Wang Shu walked towards a bookshelf and said, "My Lord, these are all books about Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong. Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong is divided into eight volumes, and there are also 183 volumes of cultivation experience left by predecessors!"

"Wait, there are eight volumes of Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong?" Yang Zhengshan asked in surprise.

"Yes, eight volumes!" Wang Shu looked at the books on the bookshelf and said, "These are the eight volumes!"

Yang Zhengshan quickly took out one of the books and started reading.

Because his Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong only had four volumes, he always thought that Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong only had four volumes.

The four volumes are on body building, strength training, meridian connection and qi condensation.

His martial arts skills were given to him by the Ningguo Mansion, so there shouldn't be any mistakes. But why are there only four volumes?

Seeing Yang Zhengshan checking out his skills, Wang Shu did not disturb him but stood quietly by his side waiting.

Yang Zhengshan read through all eight volumes of martial arts, and only then did he understand why the Ningguo Mansion only gave him four volumes.

Because the last four volumes are Controlling Qi, Mystery, Entering the Subtleties and Entering the Tao.

The first four volumes talk about how to break through to the innate realm, and the last four volumes talk about the methods of cultivation after the breakthrough.

At that time, Yang Zhengshan had not yet touched the threshold of the innate realm. Even if the Ningguo Mansion gave him the last four volumes, it would be of no use, so they only gave him the first four volumes.

But this led to a misunderstanding in Yang Zhengshan. He had always believed that he had to figure out the cultivation after reaching the innate realm on his own, and he never expected that there would be other techniques to practice later.

In fact, the last four volumes do not talk about an accurate path, but rather techniques for cultivation.

For example, what is Qi Control and what effects do you have? In fact, there is no need for special exercises to explain, because Qi Control is a way of using the innate true Qi.

There is no accurate path, it is just a direction. As for what kind of path you can take, it depends entirely on your own perception and understanding.

The exercises only record some training techniques, and they are relatively simple ones. Rather than saying that they are exercises to guide you in your training, it is better to say that they are explanations to help you better understand what is controlling Qi.

In contrast, some cultivation experiences will give you more detailed cultivation techniques.

These cultivation experiences are the summaries of our predecessors. Each one represents a feasible path, but whether it is suitable for you depends on your own choice.

To put it simply, the practice methods are just textbooks, while the practice experiences are explanations and exercises. You can only learn some formulas and basics from textbooks, but the practice experiences can help you deepen your understanding of the basics and provide you with ideas for solving problems.

Therefore, those four volumes of exercises are actually not of much use. On the contrary, these cultivation experiences are even more rare.

Yang Zhengshan read three books on cultivation experience in succession and benefited greatly from them all.

"This book of experience was left by a senior named Qingmu eight hundred years ago. It is said that he has reached the realm of subtlety and can make his true energy change into thousands of forms, making it come alive!" Wang Shu waited for a long time, and seeing that Yang Zhengshan wanted to continue browsing, he could not help but speak.

"Old Man Qingmu!" Yang Zhengshan was very interested in this person.

"There are many legends about Old Man Aoki. It is said that he lived to be 280 years old." Wang Shu said.

Yang Zhengshan showed a look of surprise again.

Wang Shu smiled and said, "Practicing Yimu Changchun Gong can prolong one's life. This old man Qingmu lived to be 280 years old because of practicing Yimu Changchun Gong!"

"So what level has he reached in his cultivation?" Yang Zhengshan continued to ask.

"It's not clear. Some say he has entered the Tao, while others say he has only reached the micro level. But there are clear historical records that he really lived to be 280 years old!" Wang Shudao said.

The time is too long and many things cannot be verified. Only dynasties with orderly inheritance can record accurate and true history books.

Three hundred years ago, Dayong overthrew the rule of Dasheng and inherited Dasheng's heritage.

So now we can find some ancient history books, but the records in these history books often only tell a person's life in a few words, and a lot of information is not very detailed.

Yang Zhengshan nodded slightly and put aside Elder Qingmu's experience in cultivation.

This book on cultivation experience is very good, but unfortunately it is of no use to him now, because it only talks about the subtle insights of cultivation.

He has not even reached the level of controlling Qi yet, let alone reaching the level of subtlety. Yang Zhengshan looked at the sky outside. He was so absorbed in reading that several hours had passed without him noticing. It was almost dusk now, so it was no wonder that Wang Shu came to interrupt him.

Yang Zhengshan asked: "If I want to copy some of my cultivation experience, what should I do?"

Wang Shu smiled and said, "My Lord, just tell me what cultivation experience you need, and I will ask the people in the Hidden Merit Pavilion to copy it down for you!"

Yang Zhengshan laughed. This service is quite considerate. Not only can you browse at will, but there are also people to help you transcribe.

"It's getting late, so I'll take my leave now. I'll come back tomorrow!" Yang Zhengshan said.

"My Lord, take care!" Wang Shu escorted him out of the Canggong Pavilion.

In the following days, Yang Zhengshan came to the Cang Gong Pavilion every day and stayed there for three or four hours every day. He read through all the practice experiences of Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong, and also selected some practice experiences that were useful to him and copied them down.

Not only did he read the cultivation experiences related to Yi Mu Chang Chun Gong, he also read a lot of cultivation experiences of other exercises.

For example, he also found the art of concealing his breath in the Tibetan Merit Pavilion, and had someone copy down some of his experience in practicing it.

Time slowly came to mid-April, and eight days had passed since Yang Zhengshan received the Xiantian Order.

After Yang Zhengshan returned from the Canggong Pavilion that day, Wu Hai came to report: "My Lord, today the eunuch of the Imperial Household came to inform you that you are invited to attend court tomorrow!"

"Going to court?" Yang Zhengshan asked, "Did the visitor have anything else to say?"

The Fengyu eunuchs were the eunuchs who were responsible for summoning the emperor to an audience. Whenever the emperor wanted to see someone, the Fengyu eunuchs would go and invite that person.

Since coming to Beijing, Yang Zhengshan has never attended court.

It’s not that he can’t go to court, but that he is too lazy to go.

Why would he go to court when he holds an idle position?
"No, the person who came just asked the Marquis to go to court and not to be late!" Wu Hai replied.

Yang Zhengshan thought about it and thought that the matter of Nansheng might have come to a conclusion.

"Then you should get ready, so as not to miss the time!"

Darong’s morning court was not held every day, but once every five days, that is, on the fifth or tenth day.

The morning court session starts at Mao time, and officials have to enter the imperial city at around Yin time. After the morning court session ends, officials can go back to take a nap.

Yang Zhengshan was reluctant to go to court because it was too early.

Damn it, getting up at three o'clock to go to the imperial city and having a meeting at five o'clock, even cows and horses can't cause such trouble.

……

April fifteen.

In the middle of the night, Yang Zhengshan got up and changed into casual clothes. He wore a black gauze hat, a bright red round-collar shirt, a gold and jade belt around his waist, and a Qilin embroidered on his chest.

After putting on his clothes, Yang Zhengshan rode towards the imperial city in the dark, accompanied by four personal followers.

He was not allowed to ride a horse into the imperial city. Once he entered the imperial city, his personal attendants would lead his horse to the Left Army Governor's Mansion, where they could also rest.

After serving as an official for more than ten years, this was the first time that Yang Zhengshan attended court. Even though he was granted the title of marquis, he had never attended the morning court. He just followed along at a temporary court meeting.

After entering the Meridian Gate, civil and military officials were waiting, standing in groups of three or five and chatting.

Yang Zhengshan found the Marquis of Changping. It was still chilly in the early morning in Kyoto in April. Liang Chu leaned against the wall with his hands in his sleeves.

"Do you know what the court will discuss today?" Yang Zhengshan leaned over and asked.

Chang Ping Hou shook his head slightly, "I don't know, it may be related to Nan Sheng's affairs, but Nan Sheng's affairs should not be discussed in the court!"

Although the Nansheng incident involves a lot of things, it actually has little to do with the court.

Such as the Secret Guards, the Twelve Imperial Guards, and the Twelve Forbidden Guards, these are all military guards independent of the court.

So even though the Nansheng incident caused quite a stir, it did not have much impact on the court.

Yang Zhengshan thought for a moment and asked again, "Can you help me introduce him to your old man?"

"Old man!" Liang Chu was slightly stunned, then smiled bitterly and said, "You mean my grandfather? I can't recommend him!"

"Why?" Yang Zhengshan looked at him dissatisfiedly.

We are relatives by marriage, and I am just introducing you to someone else. That's not even helpful.

Liang Chu smiled helplessly, "I haven't seen my grandfather for two years. I don't know where he went!"

"Uh! It's lost!" Yang Zhengshan was stunned.

“It’s not lost!” Liang Chu’s forehead was filled with black lines. What does lost mean? How could a congenital warrior who lived for over a hundred years be lost?
"Then where did you go?" Yang Zhengshan wanted to ask this person.

The cultivation experiences he copied down in the Canggong Pavilion were almost enough. In the next few days, he would seek advice from some seniors. He could ask An Yuxing for advice, and he also wanted to ask the one in Changping Houfu for advice.

"My grandfather loves to go to Wanshanling the most. He often doesn't come home for three to five years. So even if you ask me to find him, I can't find him!" Liang Chu said with a headache.

Wanshanling is a mountain range that spans the entire Dayong, starting from Suzhou Town in the northwest of Dayong, passing through Longxi, Longyuan, southern Shanhe, northern Jiangnan, and ending at the eastern coast of Dayong.

The entire Wanshanling Range has countless mountains and spans the northwest, central and eastern regions of Dayong. There are countless natural treasures growing in it. It can be said that Wanshanling Range is one of Dayong’s largest treasure houses, providing countless training resources for Dayong’s warriors.

In addition to Wanshanling, Jiujiang Mountains in the southwest of Dayong is also a treasure house of Dayong.

However, the Jiujiang Mountains are quite far away from Kyoto, and the Wanshan Mountains are just south of Kyoto. Starting from Kyoto, heading south for 300 miles, you will enter the Wanshan Mountains.

It is understandable that the old ancestor of the Changping Marquis’ Mansion likes to go to Wanshanling.

Yang Zhengshan and Liang Chu chatted for a while, and then they heard the sound of whips. Civil and military officials hurriedly lined up to enter the Fengtian Gate and headed for the Taiji Hall.

Emperor Yanping yawned as he accepted the homage of all officials.

Then the morning court began.

The first to come forward to report was the Minister of Revenue, Sun Wenjian, "Your Majesty, the severe drought in Liaodong has been alleviated this year. Shanhe, Jizhou and other places have sent the affected people back to Liaodong. Pingyuan Provincial Administration Office requests that the Ministry of Revenue allocate 800,000 dan of grain to provide relief to the victims!"

"Okay!" Emperor Yanping said casually.

Sun Wenjian continued, "Pingyuan Provincial Administration also requests that this year's tax grain of 150,000 shi and tax silver of 100,000 liang be exempted!"

"allow!"

"Your Majesty is wise!" Sun Wenjian returned to the queue.

The drought in Liaodong has ended this year. Since March this year, Shanhe Province and Jizhou have begun to repatriate refugees. But now even if the refugees have returned, they are still short of food, and the court can only allocate grain for relief.

After this disaster, it is estimated that it will take Liaodong ten years to recover.

There was nothing that could be done about it. Natural disasters were the most ruthless. A severe drought killed millions of people. In addition, Yang Zhengshan resettled millions of refugees in Chongshan Town, which almost halved the population of Liaodong.
