Mosul is a large city with complex terrain, easy to defend but difficult to attack. Once Mosul falls, the entire defense line will be exposed, and Baghdad will only be 350 kilometers away! Precisely because of the importance of Mosul, Iraq is fully mobilizing troops to the Mosul area and even plans to have a head-on decisive battle with the joint forces.

In terms of power generation, the Three Gorges Power Station is the world's largest hydropower station in terms of total installed capacity. So far, the Three Gorges Power Station has generated a total of 13541 billion kWh of electricity, which has strongly supported the power supply in East China, Central China, Guangdong Province and other regions, and has become an important large-scale clean energy production base in China.

In terms of shipping, the Three Gorges Project has significantly improved the navigation conditions of the Yangtze River in Sichuan. Since the trial opening of the Three Gorges Ship Lock, the cargo volume passing through the lock has increased rapidly, exceeding 1.46 million tons last year. To date, the cumulative cargo volume passing through the lock has reached 14.83 billion tons, which has effectively promoted the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

In terms of water resource utilization, the discharge flow of the Three Gorges Reservoir during the dry season has been increased to more than 5500 cubic meters per second, replenishing more than 200 billion cubic meters of water to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Up to now, the cumulative water replenishment has been 2267 days, with a total water replenishment of 2894 billion cubic meters, improving the production, living and ecological water conditions in the middle and lower reaches.

In terms of ecology and environmental protection, so far, the high-quality clean electricity generated by the Three Gorges Power Station is equivalent to saving 4.3 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 11.69 billion tons, with significant energy-saving and emission-reduction benefits.

Some people participated in the construction of the Three Gorges Project throughout the entire process. They were young men full of vigor and vitality back then, but 17 years later they are already middle-aged people over 17 years old. Some people were in their thirties, the golden age, but 50 years later they are already over years old and have white hair.

The Three Gorges Project is more than just an achievement of a project. It has also brought success to many people, driven the development of a large number of enterprises, promoted a large number of jobs, and cultivated a large number of talents.

The Three Gorges Project is not the end, it is just a starting point. The Chinese people will continue to embark on a new journey, build more large-scale reservoirs and hydropower stations, and use water resources to benefit the Chinese nation.

In the next 20 years, China Electric Power Investment Group Corporation will invest one to two trillion yuan to build more large-scale reservoirs and hydropower stations.

The big plan drawn by Liu Tao back then was that the total scale of China Southern Power Grid's hydropower development would reach 2010 MW by 30 and 2020 MW by 60, with the utilization rate of water resources in the jurisdiction reaching 95%. This would enable the hydropower generation to reach 2010 to 1.2 trillion kWh in 1.4 and 2020 to 2.4 trillion kWh by 2.8. This big plan is being realized step by step.

After inspecting the Three Gorges Dam, Liu Tao and his team came to the laser cannon base. Naturally, there is a laser cannon base built here in the Three Gorges, equipped with a total of 8 laser cannons. The laser cannon can be turned in direction to ensure laser interception of missiles and aircraft coming from all directions.

This project will be completed by the end of the year.
