The rise of a great power: starting with military industry

Chapter 897 Western Aviation Industry Corridor

Chapter 897 Western Aviation Industry Corridor
It's not just Boeing that regrets its decision, Airbus is also regretting it to its core.

Currently, the world's aviation manufacturing industry is mainly monopolized by Boeing, McDonnell Douglas and Airbus, among which Boeing and Airbus are the most powerful, followed by McDonnell Douglas.

Both sides have their own base.

Boeing and McDonnell Douglas' base is the United States, while Airbus' base is Europe, and the two sides compete in the field of passenger aircraft around the world.

Now there is some bad news coming from the United States. Boeing intends to acquire McDonnell Douglas. Once Boeing and McDonnell Douglas merge to form a new Boeing, the world's aviation manufacturing industry will change from the original three-company monopoly to a super competition between Boeing and Airbus. Especially for Airbus, the new Boeing will pose a very serious threat to it.

Because Boeing's merger with McDonnell Douglas will pose a huge threat to Europe's aircraft manufacturing industry, it has caused strong reactions in the government and business circles, and is now interfering with Boeing's merger with McDonnell Douglas.

But who could have imagined that such a big change would happen in China, where they directly announced the successful development of a regional jet and also revealed that they were developing a trunk jet.

This is simply the worst news for Airbus.

You should know that China's aviation market is expanding rapidly. China is carrying out large-scale infrastructure construction, and major cities are building new airports. Those newly built airports are even better than those in Europe and the United States. Moreover, there are more and more airlines in China, and they are also increasing their purchases of passenger aircraft.

According to the survey, China will need 8090 new aircraft worth nearly one trillion US dollars in the next years.

China is now the most important overseas market for Boeing and Airbus. Both parties are competing for orders in the Chinese market. Even if the price is a little more favorable, they must get more orders because the Chinese market has huge potential and benefits.

However, if China has its own regional aircraft and mainline aircraft, it will be difficult for Boeing and Airbus to monopolize China's passenger aircraft market.

China Aircraft even has to face the situation of competing with Boeing, Airbus and McDonnell Douglas in the international market.

This aspect is definitely disadvantageous.

Compared with the worries overseas, China is extremely happy.

After all, the Y-13 passenger aircraft is so beautiful and modern, and it was independently developed by China, which can really inspire national pride.

Who would be willing to earn that hard-earned money if they could make more profit?

Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation is also very happy because Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation has given Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation an order for 50 Y-13 passenger aircraft and 10 Y-13 transport aircraft. With this order, Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation will be able to benefit greatly in the next few years.

Although Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation only makes a portion of the money from manufacturing the Y-13 passenger aircraft, and even less than Guizhou Aircraft Industry Group, Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation is already very satisfied.

At the beginning, Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation was worried that as Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation gradually became more complete, the order would not be given to Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation, but who would have thought that Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation would be so generous.

On the other hand, Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation will start the production of the Y-13 passenger aircraft. However, unlike Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation, Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation will first focus on the production of the Y-13 business jet model.

Although the technology was developed by Guifei, it was the first time that Guifei produced a passenger aircraft, so everything had to start from scratch, which took time.

This year, Guizhou Aircraft Corporation aims to produce two Y-2 business jets, 13 Y-10 aircraft next year, and 13 aircraft in 1997. When the second production line is put into operation in 30, the annual production capacity will reach 1998 aircraft. Passenger aircraft are different from fighter jets. Fighter jets will use a pulse production line, which is more advanced. Some confidential processing, debugging, installation and processes will be used on military aircraft, not on civilian aircraft.

Furthermore, in terms of complexity, the structure of a fighter jet is definitely simpler than that of a passenger plane, and the production process is also fewer. Passenger planes are larger in size and are time-consuming and labor-intensive to install. Passenger planes are much more complicated to manufacture than fighter jets, and have higher reliability requirements. After all, the lives of hundreds of people are at stake. Just the pressurization system for the entire cabin must run through all airports, while a fighter jet only has the pilot's cabin pressurized.

Guizhou Feifei previously produced military aircraft, but now it wants to produce passenger aircraft. Many aspects have to be handled step by step. Through aircraft manufacturing, it needs to train a large number of corresponding technicians and skilled workers. The continuous growth of technicians and workers takes time.

At Guizhou Aviation Industry Corporation, Liu Tao is attending a meeting that concerns the entire country's aviation industry layout.

From Xi'an to Chengdu and then to Anshun, from Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation to Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation and then to Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation, three aviation industrial bases will be formed, namely Xi'an, Hanzhong, Bazhong, Mianyang, Chengdu, Luzhou and Anshun, forming the entire western China aviation industrial corridor.

The passenger aircraft supporting factory formed through previous cooperation with Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation will play a very important role.

But the current scale alone is not enough.

Because in the future, the annual production of regional aircraft will have to reach 100, and the annual production of mainline aircraft will reach 500. This will require more supporting factories, and the supporting factories will have to expand their production capacity on a large scale.

In addition to Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation, Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation and Xi'an Aircraft Industry Corporation having to settle accounts with supporting manufacturers in a timely manner, they also have to provide financial support.

The financial support must be given to the bank.

Of course, it doesn't mean that China only has this aviation industry corridor and there is no aviation industry in other places. There are Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, Shanghai Aircraft Factory, etc. in other places. Aviation industry-related products are distributed throughout the country, but they are more concentrated in this western aviation industry corridor.

There are currently 35 China Aviation Design Institutes, including 4 bases, namely 011 Aviation Base (Guizhou Aviation Industrial Base), 012 Aviation Base (Hanzhong Aviation Industrial Base), 013 Aviation Base (Xiang Aviation Industrial Base), 014 Aviation Base (China Air-to-Air Research Institute), and 55 other companies.

These are located throughout the country.

At present, the 011 Aviation Base is the most powerful and the largest.

However, the 011 Air Base also has disadvantages, that is, it is located on a plateau with an altitude of about 1400 meters, and the transportation is not as convenient as other places.

There are advantages, that is, it has the support of Panshan Group and has sufficient financial resources, which can mobilize a large amount of manpower, material and financial resources. At the same time, it is located deep in the hinterland of southwest China, so the security is the highest.

In this regard, Guifei Group will invest more than 200 billion yuan in production lines, workers, etc.

Moreover, it is necessary to ensure that once a state of war is entered, the production capacity of Guifei Group must increase by 3 to 4 times within a year, so as to ensure that Guifei Group can continuously produce various types of aircraft for the military.

All of these will be included in Guifei Group's 'Ninth Five-Year Plan' and are also the most critical indicators.
