Chapter 23 Arthur Curry, Fear from the Deep Sea
Chapter 23 Arthur Curry, Fear from the Deep Sea
This was not the first time Arthur Curry had ventured out of Mein Harbor to engage in independent deep-sea fishing operations.
Although this Arctic Ocean trip was the farthest he had ever traveled, he did not feel any unease about being away from home.
The entire ocean is his home; he will never get lost no matter how far he goes.
Moreover, he was naturally stronger than others and had an extraordinary ability to adapt to water, whether it was the terrifying water pressure or the oxygen-free environment.
"We'd better change course immediately."
Arthur Curry looked earnestly into the captain's eyes, and he spoke with great seriousness.
The fleeing whales and seabirds were not afraid of storms forming in the atmosphere.
It's the seabed!
The response Arthur heard from the low moans of the whales was that something was swimming towards them from the depths of the ocean.
However, the old captain, Walid Jassem, did not listen to him, and the fishing boat always took a very fixed route.
This is not only to avoid getting lost at sea, but also to minimize the risks associated with each voyage.
Deploying fishing facilities in areas rich in fish populations, identified through generations of exploration and experience, often yields the greatest harvest thanks to the expertise of the older generation.
In this world, everyone's concerned with self-interest.
"Newcomer, for a fisherman, respecting the sea is the first lesson you must learn, but the second lesson is..."
Have the courage to conquer the sea you revere.
Before the old captain could finish speaking, Arthur Curry added the last sentence, proving that he was no novice, and then kicked the last huge net cage, already baited, off the deck and into the sea.
Without even glancing at the old captain, he turned around, picked up the rope from the ground, wrapped it around his arm twice, hoisted it onto his shoulder, and walked step by step into the cabin.
"Tch, these young people nowadays, they just can't take any advice."
Walid pursed his lips, looked at Arthur's strong physique, and didn't call out to him. He stood alone on the deck, looked at the sky, and then returned to the captain's cabin.
The nauseating smell inside the cabin was really unpleasant.
After all, you can't expect a fishing vessel sailing in the open sea to provide 24-hour free hot water so that the crew can take a shower.
Add to that the fishy smell that permeated every inch of the ship, and even Carrot El couldn't eat anything, so he found a corner to sit down.
"You just said you came here to find your relatives?"
Squeezed into the cramped cabin, Tony Stark couldn't stand the surroundings any longer and, trying to distract himself, casually asked a question.
Carlo nodded: "Yes, that's right."
Tony Stark finally heard something that interested him, and his interest was immediately piqued:
So you're going to the Arctic?
The cabin was crowded and noisy, so Carrot El didn't directly address the question. Instead, he sat on the floor with his arms crossed, close to the wall, and asked in return:
"Didn't you see Bick's house?"
Tony Stark paused for a moment. After spending a few days together, he and Bick had gained some basic understanding of each other.
Piccolo knew perfectly well that the home Piccolo referred to was the Namekian spaceship he had traveled on.
So, is Ayr's spaceship in the Arctic?
"To be honest, I'm really curious about your background too."
Looking directly into Tony Stark's intrigued gaze, Carrot, instead of showing excitement at revealing the answer, casually murmured:
"It is not a good thing to rashly explore the unknown depths of the starry sky."
"So it wasn't until today that I embarked on this journey." "But you, are you truly ready to embrace that starry sky?"
Carrot's question caught Tony off guard, leaving him momentarily stunned.
But somehow, El's words made him feel as if he had vaguely grasped something.
For example, why did he torture himself like that?
Is it so that we can face that starry sky?
Or is it that even he dares not face the boundless Milky Way alone?
Carrot El seemed to read his mind and said calmly:
"Don't get me wrong, I just don't want to be too lonely on this path."
"Even if I am destined to seek a worthy opponent in this life but never find one, I hope it will be in an era when the strong rise to power."
Tony Stark stared at him silently for a long while, lost in thought, then suddenly looked up into his eyes and asked seriously:
"And what is your attitude towards humanity?"
Without hesitation, Carrot El replied, "I have an ID card."
The country across the ocean doesn't have a household registration system, so he, who originally wanted to say he had a global household registration, could only use his ID card instead.
Upon hearing this, Tony Stark revealed a knowing smile; this unremarkable reply already conveyed Carrot's meaning.
If that's the case, then as he said, this journey may have some meaning.
"So how did you grow up on this planet, uh, I mean, here?"
"You were born with this skill."
Tony Stark pointed upwards in a gesturing manner.
"No, I was very weak at first, with a combat power of only 2."
All told, Carrot and Tony had spent more than half a month together.
During this journey-like adventure, since he had nothing better to do, Carrot began to tell him stories from his childhood.
Just then, with a loud bang as the door slammed shut, Arthur Curry entered the cabin carrying food and clothes.
Weiwei glanced at Carrot and Tony, who seemed out of place among the sailors, thought for a moment, and then sat down next to them.
Carrot paused mid-sentence, his gaze suddenly passing right through Carrot's body.
I hadn't noticed it on the deck, but the blond man's muscle density was completely different from that of an ordinary person. His body was very hard, and the composition of his blood was also different from that of humans.
Seeing Carrot looking at him, Arthur Curry was a little confused, wondering what the man wanted. After thinking for a moment, he took out a bottle of rum from his pocket and handed it to him as a greeting.
Would you like some?
Seeing this, Carrot also pulled out a small bottle of vodka from his pocket and made a toasting gesture:
"Thank you, let's go together."
Seeing this, Arthur's face instantly lit up with a smile. "Hey, I've met a kindred spirit!" he thought. He clinked glasses with Carrot and chuckled.
"Oh, yes!"
Both men turned their gazes to Tony Stark, who instinctively touched his empty pockets and lowered his head in embarrassment.
Watching the two of them take out their drinks and raise their glasses to drink together, I couldn't help but swallow hard.
Damn it, I'm so angry!
I hope my cold will be better tomorrow.
