Chapter 36 Kryptonian History, The Codex of Life
"Let's start from the beginning."
Not only Natasha and her companion, but even Carrot El was incredibly curious about this story involving the vast universe.
Even before he heard it, he could already sense a hint of murderous intent.
Intuition tells Karot El that this love story from Krypton and Planet Vegeta is probably not beautiful, and may even be somewhat terrifying.
The next second, Joe Al reached out his hand, and countless solid particles that formed the projection began to recombine as he narrated, evolving into dynamic murals that marked history.
"Let's start with the history of Krypton."
Everyone followed Joe Al's gaze to the ever-changing mural in front of them.
"Krypton is a planet with a much harsher environment than Earth."
"It should be said that among the approximately one hundred billion stars in the Milky Way, Earth is a place with a very good environment, it's just that it's very weak."
Upon seeing this, Tony Stark smiled enigmatically, his tone tinged with self-deprecating irony:
"Really? Then we're really lucky."
Joe Al's voice possessed a quiet magnetism, giving a sense of tranquility and peace as he slowly narrated:
"Long ago, as time progressed, in order to find a completely new world, we began to explore the stars, and ships from Krypton were able to spread across many star systems."
"The reconnaissance ship you are on now is one of them."
The group looked around, finding it hard to believe that in such a distant era, an extraterrestrial civilization had already visited this place.
"We establish outposts on various planets and use machines to alter the local climate, making them suitable for our habitation."
"Since then, for 10 years, our civilization has flourished."
"10 years is a very long history. Our civilization is only about 10000 years old."
Upon hearing Joe El's words, Natasha Romanov pursed her lips in a sigh.
Thinking about what he was about to hear, which would be an absolute top secret within S.H.I.E.L.D., and might even be the truth of this world.
With this in mind, the female agent's expression became more focused than ever before, and even Tony Stark displayed unparalleled solemnity. His entire demeanor was completely different from his previous playboy persona, and his eyes shone with the light of one of the era's top geniuses.
"In the history of the universe, 10 years is probably just a fleeting moment."
Joe Al glanced at the two of them briefly:
"Yes, it was like a miracle that suddenly shone in the universe. After a brief period of explosive growth, we quickly reached the end of our civilization's development."
The group didn't just stay there; instead, they followed Jor-El's guidance and walked step by step deeper into the Kryptonian spaceship.
"What then?"
Carrot followed behind Joe Al, listening intently.
"Later, a breakthrough in life science technology freed us from the problem of propagating our species."
"Based on this change in decision-making, we abandoned those outposts and reconnaissance ships that had been exploring the outside world."
The three expressed their understanding, acknowledging that breakthroughs in science and technology can indeed lead to an unprecedented surge in productivity and trigger changes in social systems.
Tony Stark was clearly very interested in this: "What kind of technology is that?"
As they spoke, the group arrived at a place resembling a cultivation chamber. What came into view was a giant root system that looked like a plant, with enclosed embryos growing on it. But upon closer inspection, it was clear that these were not plants, but rather products of technology and metal, not fruits, but the crystallization of Kryptonian civilization.
Looking at everything before him, Joe Al replied with a complex expression:
"The Code of Life".
"This technology for artificially creating life can completely replicate the form of life at the genetic level."
"It's like an extension of your cloning and IVF technologies."
Tony Stark instantly gave him a look of disgust, and curled his lip in disdain:
"The inventor of this technology, which omits the process and joy of creating humankind, must be an impotent person."
Upon hearing this, Natasha Romanov rolled her eyes at him and slapped him on the back of the head:
"Shut up."
But Jor-El seemed to agree with Stark's words, and as he turned away, he even gave a wistful look that suggested he had tasted something delicious, which Carrot promptly ignored, and continued:
"In addition to replicating each person's genes, biocode technology can also create life according to social needs."
"Soldiers are produced when soldiers are needed, doctors are produced when doctors are needed. Everything about each person is planned in advance, as if their souls are imprisoned."
"And the resulting consolidation of social classes has accelerated our demise."
Natasha Romanov was alarmed by this, and at the same time felt a sense of disgust:
"It's as if they were born for this profession, natural-born warriors, natural-born commanders, natural-born leaders."
"And they won't have any other preferences or possibilities, because it's determined at the genetic level."
Joe Al continued pacing in front of the crowd, but his gaze remained fixed on Carrot: "We've exhausted our natural resources, and the Earth's core is becoming unstable."
"The Kryptonian Council has tried many ways to save it."
“I have tried to contact interstellar organizations for help more than once, but unfortunately, I have failed.”
"But at the last minute, General Zod, as the military leader of Krypton, proposed a relocation plan: to purchase a planet from abroad!"
"And it was through this transaction that we got involved in another destroyed planet."
Joe Al sent a chill down their spines. Both Tony and Natasha were among the most intelligent people in the world, and therefore their minds were far more complex than others.
If planets can be sold at will, then the cruel laws of survival in the universe are unimaginable. If I remember correctly, Joe Al just said that Earth is a habitable planet, right?
So, what about us?
Thinking of this, Tony Stark's back was soaked with cold sweat. He rubbed his arms vigorously, as if trying to relieve his anxiety.
"Wait a minute, how do you plan to buy it?"
"In currency?"
Has an intergalactic monetary exchange system already formed in the universe?
Joe Al shook his head, seemingly unwilling to discuss these matters:
"No, the universe is not a civilized place, and there will be no unified measure for the universal form of currency."
"But technology, resources, and human resources are the eternal themes of development."
