“As a monk, every word and action must conform to etiquette. You are too rude. Your teacher will help you correct it slowly.”

Sun Wukong wouldn't listen and told Xuanzang instead.

“Master, you’ve slept for two days, and you look very energetic now.”

Xuanzang was surprised to learn that he had slept for two days.

"Um……"

He stammered and couldn't get the words out.

Then Elder Jinchi arrived.

"I met the elder."

Elder Jinchi returned the greeting to him.

"Has the venerable monk been resting well these past two days?"

Xuanzang expressed his gratitude once again.

"Thank you, Elder. I have rested well and I still need to thank you properly."

“Disciple, let’s leave today.”

Sun Wukong hadn't said anything yet.

Elder Jinchi strongly disagreed.

Xuanzang was surprised to hear him so determined to stop him from leaving.

"Why?"

Elder Jinchi then realized that he had been too rash.

He gave an awkward smile and apologized for his earlier attitude.

"I was a bit harsh just now, please don't take it to heart. Your injuries haven't fully healed yet, and if you set off now, they might flare up again."

Xuanzang felt he was fully recovered and there was no need for him to stay any longer.

"Thank you for your concern, but I am perfectly healthy and can rest assured that I will be fine."

Elder Jinchi tried to stop him again.

“Venerable monk, as you travel along this path, are you only focused on your ultimate goal? You should leave your thoughts behind wherever you go. If future generations hear your teachings and are inspired to enlighten more people, wouldn’t that be a good thing?”

After hearing what Elder Jin Zhi said, Xuanzang also felt that what he said made sense, so he decided to stay for another day.

Seeing that his wounds had not fully healed, Sun Wukong continued on his way, fearing that he might not find a place to rest for a long time.

“Master, sharpening your axe won’t delay your work. You are too weak right now. Only by healing your injuries can you continue.”

"If you were in your current condition, you would probably fall ill again in less than half a month. I don't want to take care of you."

Elder Jinchi could only smile awkwardly as he listened to Sun Wukong's unfiltered words.

Xuanzang sighed.

"I'm sorry to have made you laugh, Elder. My disciple is newly accepted and has a bad temper. He still needs to be disciplined properly."

Elder Jinchi did not think so.

Instead, he felt that Sun Wukong was helping him. As long as Xuanzang stayed longer, he would have a chance to get Xuanzang's cassock.

The cassock that Guanyin gave to Xuanzang was a priceless treasure, and Elder Jinchi Xuanzang had been trying to obtain it.

“Your disciple is just concerned about you, otherwise he wouldn’t have said so much. High monk, you should rest well and wait until you are fully recovered before setting off again.”

Hearing what they both said, Xuanzang decided to rest for a few more days.

That night, Elder Jinchi felt that Xuanzang was in a great hurry to set off.

He made a ruthless decision; originally he only wanted the cassock, but now he wanted to kill Xuanzang as well.

“You’ve always wanted to hit the road, so you can’t blame me for this.”

Elder Jinchi found their luggage.

He took the robe in his hand and stroked it carefully.

"It truly is a treasure. The texture and luster of this robe are simply exquisite."

Elder Jinchi was overjoyed, and he set fire to the room where Xuanzang was.

Sun Wukong's room was the same.

In his view, as long as Xuanzang and Sun Wukong were dead, the cassock would belong to him.

But unbeknownst to him, Sun Wukong had already sensed something was amiss. Although Xuanzang didn't believe it, now that Sun Wukong had made him invisible, they witnessed everything Elder Jinchi had done in the temple.
Xuanzang realized that Elder Jinchi had actually murdered him for his money.

"He is so vicious, yet you still prevent your master from leaving."

Sun Wukong was helpless.

"Little monk, it's because you have a mouth that you're good at talking."

He looked at Elder Jinchi and explained to Xuanzang.

"This old monk's methods are so skillful, do you think this is his first time? He has already murdered countless people. If we spare him today, won't even more people fall into his hands in the future?"

"What do you want to do? Monks can only guide and convert, not kill."

Xuanzang feared that Sun Wukong might do something terrible and wanted to stop him.

But then they saw the flames in the Guanyin Temple suddenly rise.

The entire Guanyin Temple was engulfed in flames, and Elder Jinchi was burned to a crisp.

"what!!"

Xuanzang was furious upon hearing Elder Jinchi's screams.

“You demon monkey, I told you to convert it, yet you killed it. How could your heart be so wicked?”

Sun Wukong ignored him and threw the cassock to Xuanzang.

"He's already a monk, and he's deceived countless people, causing their deaths. Now you say you want to convert him? Then who should convert the others who died before? Little monk, don't be so naive. Since he has already made a mistake, he must pay the price."

Xuanzang did not listen to what Sun Wukong said this time.

In his eyes, no one is beyond redemption.

Even Elder Jinchi might be able to persuade him to turn back from the wrong path.

"You wicked monkey, your heart is so evil. I will now convert you and make sure you never have the heart to kill again."

Sun Wukong knocked him unconscious after hearing him chanting scriptures.

Carrying the cassock and the white dragon horse, they continued on their journey.

The next day, when Xuanzang woke up and saw Sun Wukong, he turned his head away, not wanting to see him.

Sun Wukong saw his actions but didn't care.

At this time, Guanyin and Zen Master Wuchao had already arrived.

Sun Wukong went to Guanyin to tell her about this.

Even Guanyin hadn't expected Jinchi to be so greedy.

When he first became a disciple of the Bodhisattva, he acted appropriately as a nominal disciple.

That's why he was arranged to stay here to receive Xuanzang and his entourage.

Unexpectedly, Jinchi himself became greedy and even wanted to kill Xuanzang.

"He deserved to die."

Guanyin was also angry.

But Sun Wukong told him again.

"If we continue the journey to the West to obtain the scriptures, let that little monk clear his head. I saved him, but he repaid kindness with enmity and still doesn't want to see me."

Guanyin was also helpless after hearing this.

“I can’t keep intervening. You should know that you need to take the initiative to reach an agreement with Xuanzang regarding this matter.”

Sun Wukong found it troublesome after hearing this.

"This will be the last time. If he does it again, I will no longer pay attention to him."

After giving Guanyin an ultimatum, Sun Wukong returned to where Xuanzang was, but unexpectedly, Xuanzang rode on his own.

Sun Wukong sneered.

"That bald monk is truly laughable."

Just as Xuanzang was walking forward, he looked back to see that Sun Wukong was not following.

He breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that he had broken free from Sun Wukong.

But he never expected that he would be ambushed as soon as he turned around.

The bandits set a trap here. The white dragon horse tripped over the rope, and Xuanzang fell to the ground, swallowing a mouthful of dirt.

"He's a monk. This guy looks really poor."
