Chapter 864 Bane the Broken Back

Chapter 864 Bane the Broken Back

Following Batman to fight crime in Gotham City left Dick increasingly confused, because apart from the constant stream of supervillains and crimes, he saw no hope. Therefore, he eventually chose to leave Gotham to find a solution.

After leaving, Dick didn't give up on being a superhero, but he found himself a legitimate job as a policewoman.

She is retracing Batman's path, because Bruce Wayne also abandoned his identity as Wayne and integrated into the lower rungs of society before putting on that suit. Clearly, Dick is still influenced by Batman.

It has to be said that the police station life, which connects the black and white sides, is very challenging. Although she has not yet found a way to save Gotham, she has learned about the existence and necessity of the Greys. This is why she did not have a conflict with Damian after meeting him, even though he was killing someone.

Having lived in Gotham for so many years, Dick could tell at a glance who deserved to die and who didn't. However, according to Batman's principles, even those who deserved to die had to be arrested and brought to trial by the law. But she knew even better that while this might be possible in other cities, in Gotham, there were only two outcomes: immediate release or a prison vacation. Therefore, she did not take action.

After dealing with several organ traffickers, Damian looked curiously at the older woman in a blue-black bodysuit who was squatting on the Dripping Beast. He then recognized her as the former Robin, now the female Nightwing.

The two are quite alike; one is an adopted son, the other a biological son, but both ended up as daughters, and neither likes Batman's lecturing with a dark expression and a deep voice.

However, Dick has followed Batman for many years and still maintains the principle of not killing. But as she gradually develops her own ideas, she will not stop others from killing like a saint. At least she will not stop those who deserve to die, which is why she and Damian can coexist peacefully.

Now, one of them is responsible for defeating those who don't deserve to die, and the other is sending those who do deserve to die to hell. They work together quite well and have started chatting.

"You were once Batman's Robin?" Damian said no, but in reality, she had very complicated feelings about Batman. She hated his lecturing without knowing his place, yet she also craved his approval, so she asked involuntarily.

“Yes, those were truly unforgettable days.” Dick wore an expression that was hard to describe.

"The training was alright, but the lecturing was a bit unbearable." Dick's parents were tricked and killed by the mob, so how could she not want revenge? That was also the period when her conflict with Batman was the most serious.

Later, Dick gradually came to accept Batman's actions and became his Robin. However, as he grew up and became more independent, Dick also began to look for his own path, rather than always being a follower like Robin.

Both of them have close relationships with Batman, yet neither can stand him. They both crave independence but also desire each other's approval, so they actually have a lot in common.

Dick was tall with long legs, a curvaceous figure, and long hair that was casually draped over his shoulders. He walked with agility and strength, which made his round and perky figure appear even more prominent.

Damian is still young and her body hasn't fully developed yet, but she looks adorable in a gothic dress. The only worry is that she'll grow up, because the master's buttocks and chin are really not suitable for women.

When the two walk together and aren't fighting, they look like two sisters out for a stroll. If Batman saw this, he would be very pleased. One is an adopted daughter, and the other is a legitimate daughter. They get along so well. How could he not be pleased? He would be so pleased that his ancestors' graves would probably explode.

"This is impossible?!" Talia exclaimed in shock as she looked at her son who had turned into her daughter, just like when she came home and found a little boy hiding in her son's closet.

Lei Xiaogu's expression also twisted. Damian was his chosen successor, yet a part of him was permanently missing. Who on earth dared to lay a hand on him?!

"Whoever it is, I will make them pay the price," Lei Xiaogu said coldly, swearing as a master ninja. However, Lei Xiaogu knew how powerful his son-in-law was. Although he hated him to the core, he did not show himself, but instead pulled his daughter into the darkness. The shadow warriors around them followed one after another, clearly there for the grand drama in Gotham.

As Batman gradually brought the fan club members back to Arkham Asylum, he began to show signs of fatigue. His movements and reactions slowed down by at least a tenth, which was extremely fatal for a martial artist. Therefore, the people behind the scenes believed that the time was ripe and arranged the final scene.

“You underestimate him.” Lei Xiaogu said expressionlessly. Although the League of Assassins was powerful, it was a powerful outsider. In order to achieve its goals, it had to cooperate with the local tyrants. But that did not mean he was willing to be a henchman. In particular, he could not tolerate others looking down on Batman, because he was his most satisfactory successor.

“No, I never underestimated him.” The mastermind behind this grand scheme finally stepped into the spotlight: Bane, the genius criminal chosen by the Court of Owls.

Bane is currently at his peak, possessing genius-level intelligence comparable to Batman and superhuman strength, and has single-handedly orchestrated this major event in Gotham.

Unfortunately, he reached his peak right from the start. The steroid Venom gave him extraordinary strength and physique, but it also eroded his intelligence and rationality. When he first appeared, he was able to carry out amazing plans, but later he became just a filler. Batman's way of dealing with him was to cut off the tubes that delivered Venom and then wait to collect the bodies.

At this moment, Bane, full of confidence and domineering presence, showed no mercy to the legendary ninja master who had lived for hundreds of years, because he had the confidence to back it up.

With the support of the Court of Owls, Bain obtained ample funds and connections, successfully hiring a large number of elite mercenaries and purchasing a great deal of sophisticated weaponry and equipment, including some that were prohibited from being sold to foreign entities.

Even so, upon arriving in Gotham, he did not choose to rush in headlong, but instead first stormed Arkham Asylum, using the people inside to set traps for Batman.

Keep in mind that Bane operates in the shadows while Batman operates in the open, and he has made various preparations in advance, with the help of the Court of Owls, a true local power.

Even under these circumstances, Bane remained in no hurry to show himself, methodically using one supervillain after another to wear down Batman's energy, demonstrating his extreme caution.

Bane has successfully lured the exhausted Batman into a desperate situation. Amidst the roar of the waterworks, he slowly approaches with the aura of a behind-the-scenes big boss. Then, like countless villains, he begins to explain his plan to Batman in detail, in order to prove his greatness.

This was not a rational move, but Bane was too excited. He had been unknown until now, while Batman was the Dark Knight who dominated Gotham. So, being able to rise to power by stepping on the other was the glorious moment he had always dreamed of.

In the original story, this was indeed Bane's moment of glory, but now Batman keeps turning his back, completely ruining the atmosphere.

"Would you like some private time to catch up?" This time it was Bane who said expressionlessly.

Batman once studied under the Ninja Master. What was initially thought to be a simple falling out between master and disciple turned out to be more complicated than it seemed, involving a romantic relationship.

Thinking of this, Bane's gaze fell on Talia, the daughter of the Ninja Master, which alerted Batman.

Through Damian's demonstrated skills, Batman confirmed her origins and now also identified her mother.
