I stole divine power in Daxia
Chapter 599: The Poison of Compassion
Chapter 599: The Poison of Compassion
Guan Guan steered the small boat and entered the sea of blood with ease. The weather above the sea of blood was unpredictable, sometimes there were roaring dark clouds, sometimes there was Buddha's light shining. There were also countless blood beasts with bodies comparable to the top three grades lurking in the sea.
But these are not difficult for Guan Guan and Zhou Tieyi. Guan Guan aimed at a small island shaped like a green lotus. At dusk, the two had arrived at the only pier on the island. At this time, the brilliant sunset and the sea of blood were the same color. At the intersection of the two, the sound of immersive and distant bells came from the ancient temple, which made people feel quiet in their hearts.
Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan arrived on the island. Not long after Guan Guan secured the boat to the dock, he saw a middle-aged monk in gray cloth approaching them. He bowed respectfully to the two of them and said, "My two benefactors, the abbot knows that you are coming and sent me to receive you."
Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan were not surprised that the Qinglian Temple abbot knew they were coming. Instead, Guan Guan was more curious about the monk in front of him and said with a smile, "Qinglian Temple is indeed an important place in Buddhism. Even the monk who attends to guests is a practitioner of the third rank."
The Qinglian Temple has always been extremely mysterious in the eyes of the world. The Xuehai Zunshou lineage to which Guan Guan belongs can be said to be the mortal enemy of the Qinglian Temple, so she can be said to be both unfamiliar and familiar with the Qinglian Temple.
It was unfamiliar because she had never been to Qinglian Island, but it was familiar because the contents of Qinglian Temple were recorded extensively in the scriptures of the Xuehai Zunshu sect.
The most important point is that everyone who comes out of Qinglian Temple is at least third rank, without exception!
This is very terrifying. Among all the holy places in the world, even the other places that are equally noble as the inheritance of saints, it is impossible for every person who comes out to be of the third rank. However, Qinglian Temple can do this.
"My cultivation is shallow, and I am far inferior to the two donors. Please come in, two donors."
The monk in charge of reception was neither humble nor arrogant, and without wasting words, he once again invited Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan to enter the temple.
Guan Guan looked at Zhou Tieyi, who nodded and said, "Lead the way."
The island is lush with vegetation, and auspicious flowers such as the Buddhist Udumbara, Lycoris radiata, and lotus are everywhere. Most of these flowers are divine products for spiritual practice. Looking around, you can see many mid-quality herbs growing freely like weeds.
Guan Guan gradually understood why Qinglian Temple was able to allow so many people to enter the third rank. She whispered, "I originally thought that my husband's ginseng fruit was already a divine product, but this Qinglian Temple, backed by the sea of blood, is not inferior in any way."
Zhou Tieyi understood what Guan Guan meant. There were countless blood beasts in the blood sea. While Qinglian Temple was guarding the blood sea, it also had a huge strategic base that could easily capture those powerful blood beasts. Generally speaking, these blood beasts contained a large amount of the will of the Blood Sea Lord and could not be eaten or used as medicine at all.
However, Qinglian Temple has found a way to use the flesh and blood of these blood beasts as fertilizer to grow rare and exotic herbs. Qinglian Temple has a small population and there are so many rare and exotic herbs, so as long as the monks here are not too stupid, then they should have no problem practicing Buddhism through martial arts and reaching the middle level.
Of course, how to go from medium-quality to high-quality is not something that can be solved simply by taking herbs. Qinglian Temple should have other methods.
The two chatted as they followed the bluestone path paved by the monks to the meditation room. The abbot of Qinglian Temple was waiting at the bottom of the steps. When he saw the two people coming, he put his palms together and said, "Greetings to Zhou Tianzun, and greetings to the blood priest."
Guan Guan looked at the Qinglian Temple abbot in front of him, who looked like an ordinary old man, and chuckled, "I originally thought that the abbot and I would dislike each other when we first met, but I didn't expect that we could actually drink tea together in the meditation room. This fate is amazing, and even we can't figure it out."
The abbot of Qinglian Temple just smiled and invited the two to enter the meditation room. A pot of water had already been boiled. The abbot put two tea leaves into the pot and then poured the tea into it.
A misty fog overflowed from the teacup, and in just a moment, it surrounded Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan.
In the mist, both of them seemed to have entered a hazy dream. In that dream, Zhou Tieyi was the son of a small aristocratic family, and Guan Guan was also a well-matched girl from an aristocratic family. They were born, met, married, had children, and then grew old and died together. The entire short life of a person was played out in this hazy dream.
Unfortunately, Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan were both too awake, so they viewed the entire dream from a bystander's perspective. Guan Guan even covered his mouth and laughed, "Master, are you trying to wake us up?"
The Qinglian Temple abbot laughed and shook his head. "This tea is called 'Like a Dream'. It's a pity that you two are too sober to appreciate the mystery of this tea."
This 'Dream Tea' is a specialty of Qinglian Temple. Like the Luo Han Guo of Fahua Temple and the Jade Rice of Xuandu Mountain, it is a Taoist specialty. This Dream Tea is just as its name suggests. After drinking it, ordinary people can spend dozens of years in just a cup of tea. Although that time is like a dream, it is also precious if they can realize that life is like a dream.
Generally speaking, Buddhists use "Dream Tea" to awaken those geniuses who they believe have great wisdom but are unwilling to immediately enter Buddhism to practice. Over the years, it has intercepted many geniuses who originally wanted to practice Confucianism or Taoism.
After drinking Ru Meng Tea, ordinary people, under the guidance of Buddhism, will experience the ups and downs of life in just a few decades, and finally wake up from the wake-up call of Buddhist masters.
But if there weren't so much preparation, just like Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan drinking tea, most people's lives would be ordinary, just a reflection of the desires of some people.
As the tea mist dissipated, Zhou Tieyi played with the teacup in his hand and asked, "Did this tea come from the Buddha's dream?"
The Qinglian Temple abbot's expression became solemn. "I know that you two are going to enter the Buddha's dream, so I use this dream tea to entertain you. If you really enter the depths of the sea of blood, the dream will not be comparable to a cup of dream tea. Even a saint may get lost..."
He knew that Guan Guan and Zhou Tieyi were confident, so he added, "This is how the Blood Sea Lord got lost."
Guan Guan smiled and said, "The host seems to be very worried about our safety?"
The Qinglian Temple abbot said seriously, "I'm not worried about your safety, but if you get lost in that dream, it is very likely to cause additional changes and wake up the Blood Sea Lord."
The abbot of Qinglian Temple looked at Guan Guan intently. If possible, he would certainly not agree to let Guan Guan enter the blood sea dream. But now Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan have joined forces. If they want to enter the blood sea dream, there are not many people in the world who can stop them. The abbot of Qinglian Temple can only persuade them rationally.
He looked at Zhou Tieyi, "Does Yanhuang Divine Lord know what the future was anchored by the Blood Sea Lord?"
When saints and gods fall from their thrones, they can use the opportunity of this fall to anchor a future. Although the process in between will change, at that point in time, what the saints and gods hope to happen will definitely happen.
This is the ultimate secret, so Qinglian Temple does not know what the future was anchored by the Blood Sea Lord. They only hope to learn from Zhou Tieyi, the most mysterious of the Nine Ancient Gods. Zhou Tieyi said, "This is also one of the reasons why I came here."
While the three people were drinking tea and talking, the abbot of Qinglian Temple suddenly stopped and looked outside the door. A bright Buddha light rose from the underworld into the world of the living. Under the blessing of the supreme Buddhist Dharma, it transformed into a Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva held a golden lotus in his hand, which was half open and half closed, showing twenty-four petals.
"I am the one who will ferry you across. When the Netherworld Equality King Buddha heard that the Heavenly Venerable wanted to go to the Sea of Blood, he specially ordered me to give this lotus to the Heavenly Venerable to achieve supreme merit."
Zhou Tieyi got up and went out, taking the lotus from the Bodhisattva of Transmigration. He looked at the lotus that contained the twenty-four Buddhist teachings. With the blessing of this lotus, his trip to the blood sea would indeed be much easier. So even though he knew that the Equal King Buddha Mo Jian wanted to use the lotus to determine the time when he entered the blood sea dream, Zhou Tieyi was not upset. Instead, he said, "Go back and tell Mo Jian that if he wants to spread the netherworld Buddhist teachings in Daxia, as long as he doesn't hurt the people, I and my Daotong lineage will not stop him."
The Bodhisattva of Guidance was delighted when he heard this, and clasped his hands together in a salute, "Thank you, Heavenly Lord."
Afterwards, he did not say much to Zhou Tieyi, and returned to the underworld through the newly opened gap in the underworld to restore his decree.
Zhou Tieyi entered the monastery again and sat down, placing the lotus in his hand on the table so that the abbot of Qinglian Temple could also see it.
The abbot of Qinglian Temple laughed dumbly and said, "I was worrying too much. It seems that Tianzun's trip is not only Tianzun's idea, but also the idea of the world. Even if I want to dissuade him, I can't."
Zhou Tieyi then mentioned another matter, "I heard that when the Green Hand Tathagata entered the Sea of Blood to see the Buddha, he and your temple jointly developed a poison called 'Compassion for All Living Beings'. Is this true?"
After the battle at Luo River, Zhou Tieyi also knew who Zhao Fuer was, so he specifically consulted the books of Qingshou Tathagata and learned about this "poison of compassion for all living beings".
The abbot of Qinglian Temple replied, "There is indeed such poison, but it is not prepared in the temple now."
"Why?"
Zhou Tieyi asked curiously. Logically speaking, this poison was originally developed to restrain the erosion of the will of the Blood Sea Lord, and Qinglian Temple should prepare it frequently.
The abbot of Qinglian Temple laughed and said, "Your Majesty, you don't know. Since this poison is called 'Compassion of All Living Beings', it is derived from the meaning of compassion of all living beings. This meaning of compassion cannot be touched by the five elements, and it is difficult for metal and stone to bear. Only one's own compassion can bear it. Therefore, even if it is produced, it will evaporate quickly if it is not used."
Zhou Tieyi showed an interested look, "This is interesting, no wonder it can restrain the erosion of the will of the Blood Sea Lord."
The poison that can restrain the will of the Saint God is already extraordinary. Since everything in the world is just a dream in the eyes of the Saint God, this kind of poison naturally cannot be contained by tangible objects in the world.
Guan Guan also revealed a look of understanding, "No wonder I have heard of the name of 'Compassion Poison for All Living Beings' over the years, but have never seen you Qinglian Temple and Fahua Temple use it. It turns out that this poison can only poison oneself."
After thinking for a moment, Zhou Tieyi asked, "Can I learn how to prepare this poison?"
The abbot of Qinglian Temple was slightly stunned, then he put his palms together and praised, "The Heavenly Venerable is merciful."
Zhou Tieyi wanted to learn the method of making poison. The 'Poison of Compassion for All Living Beings' he made could only be used on him and Guan Guan. This also alleviated some of the worries of Qinglian Temple, so the abbot of Qinglian Temple was of course willing to teach this method.
In the next two days, Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan learned how to make poison in Qinglian Temple, and at the same time collected "compassion of all living beings". It is extremely difficult for ordinary people to make this poison, because they need to collect compassion in the four states of birth, old age, sickness and death. These four kinds of compassion are generated from all living beings and are transferred to themselves through the secret methods of Buddhism.
Even if an ordinary person travels far and wide, it will take at least several years to obtain these four kinds of compassion. But now Zhou Tieyi has extraordinary supernatural powers. He can sense all prayers to the Taihang Divine Court in the world, and he can sense all sentient beings in the world who chant his name and seek universal salvation.
Not only can it sense, but it can also quickly descend through the surrounding gods or the Five Immortals, and then come to the person who seeks it through the "Xiao Yao You" method. The whole process only takes a few breaths of time, which is enough time to receive the compassion of all living beings during this period of time.
Even so, Zhou Tieyi spent two days using secret methods to bring the four kinds of compassion into his body. Of course, Guan Guan was involved in this process.
When the four poisons of compassion of birth, old age, sickness and death were completely gathered together and refined by the Buddhist Dharma, a hint of light blue appeared on Zhou Tieyi and Guan Guan's bodies. The blue appeared on Zhou Tieyi's chest.
Guan Guan saw the location where Zhou Tieyi's Compassion Poison appeared and said with a smile, "My husband is really cruel. Are you really going to become a monk and practice Buddhism in the future?"
When the poison of compassion for sentient beings is being refined, the poison will continue to spread. Unless one realizes the state of the glass body of a first-grade Pratyekabuddha in Buddhism and understands that all conditioned phenomena are nothing but dreams and illusions, then one will be able to curb the spread of the poison of compassion for sentient beings.
But even if it is the same poison of compassion for all living beings, the consequences will be different depending on where it spreads from. The reason why Zhao Fuer's previous life, Green-Handed Tathagata, got his name was because he held the 'poison of compassion for all living beings' with his right hand.
Now Zhou Tieyi is refining the 'Compassion Poison for All Living Beings' directly in his heart, and the medicinal properties of this poison are more than ten times stronger than that of Green Hand Tathagata.
Zhou Tieyi replied, "When the Green Hand Tathagata enters the Blood Sea, the will of the Blood Sea Lord will not really go all out, but the two of us entering it, we have to be more cautious. By the way, where do you refine the poison?"
Guan Guan asked playfully, "If you want to see it, you have to do it yourself."
As she spoke, she turned her back to Zhou Tieyi, her long black hair cascading like a waterfall. Zhou Tieyi stretched out his hand, lifted up Guan Guan's long hair, and a light blue poison began to spread from the back of Guan Guan's neck.
The reason why it was the back of the neck was because from this place downwards, under the skin as white as mutton-fat jade were golden vertebrae. These vertebrae were bright and hot, just like the feeling Zhou Tieyi had when he saw the remains of the Confucian sage that day!
