Guanyin Bodhisattva was puzzled; she couldn't understand why these City Gods were so devoted to their duties.

As she flew, she pondered the reasons behind it.

However, at that moment, she suddenly felt a terrifying aura pressing down on her, rendering her unable to move.

She suddenly looked up and saw a white-robed immortal standing proudly in the sky, coldly looking at her.

The white-robed immortal is none other than Lin Zhu!
"Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, why do you force your way into Chang'an?"

Lin Zhu's voice was cold and full of accusation.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was startled; she hadn't expected Lin Zhu to arrive so quickly.

She was about to explain when she noticed that Lin Zhu had produced a long spear that shimmered with a black and red light.

God-killing gun!
Guanyin Bodhisattva felt a chill run down her spine; she knew how dangerous that spear was.

It once terrified gods and Buddhas, and even saints were injured by it.

Without wasting words, Lin Zhu charged towards Guanyin Bodhisattva, wielding the God-Slaying Spear, to confront her head-on.

Guanyin Bodhisattva took out a pure glass bottle and a willow branch, attempting to resist.

However, she found herself as if she had been hit by a prehistoric beast, and she couldn't hold on at all.

Lin Zhu's attacks were like a torrent, leaving her completely defenseless.

"boom!"

With a loud bang, Guanyin Bodhisattva was blasted away by Lin Zhu's spear, falling like a meteor in front of the City God outside Chang'an Gate.

"Look! Isn't that Guanyin Bodhisattva?"

"Hahaha, she's finally got what she deserves!"

"Retribution! This is retribution!"

When the city gods saw Guanyin Bodhisattva's disheveled appearance, they couldn't help but laugh.

As the bamboo slowly descended, the City Gods knelt down in fear and trembling, chanting in unison.

"We have met the God of Law Enforcement of the Three Realms!"

Lin Zhu waved his hand, signaling them to get up.

He said calmly.

"You've done a great job. Leave the rest to me."

The city gods breathed a sigh of relief, feeling fortunate that they had been able to perform well.

Guanyin Bodhisattva fell to the ground, looking at her damaged magic weapon with heartache.

The crystal bottle and the willow branch both developed cracks, which broke her heart.

She couldn't believe that Lin Zhu's God-Slaying Spear was so powerful, that it had seriously injured her with a single blow.

She pointed at Lin Zhu and shouted angrily.

"Lin Zhu! How dare you hurt me?! Aren't you afraid of Buddha's wrath?!"

Lin Zhu gave a cold laugh and responded provocatively.

"If you dare to lay a hand on me, I dare to kill you."

Without any hesitation, he pulled a net from his pocket and threw it towards Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Lin Zhu sneered, flicked his wrist, and a golden net instantly unfolded, scattering towards Guanyin Bodhisattva.

"This is."

Before Guanyin Bodhisattva could react, she was caught in the net and unable to move.

She struggled desperately, but found that the net emanated a powerful force that bound her tightly.

"What kind of magic weapon is this?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva asked in alarm.

Lin Zhu looked arrogant as he slowly descended, looking at the Guanyin Bodhisattva struggling in the net, and said calmly.

"This is the Sun-Piercing Net, one of the legendary magical artifacts of the primordial era. It once helped the great shaman Hou Yi capture the Golden Crow and kill it. My magical artifacts are not only powerful, but also numerous, so I can do whatever I want."

Guanyin Bodhisattva struggled in the net, glaring angrily at Lin Zhu and questioning him.

"Lin Zhu! What exactly do you want? Why are you opposing my Western Paradise?!"

Lin Zhu responded lazily.

“Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, you are mistaken. My opposition to the Western Paradise is not a recent development. Have you forgotten how I taught Dipankara Buddha a lesson on Mount Ling?”

Upon hearing this, Guanyin Bodhisattva felt a chill run down her spine.

She tried to intimidate Lin Zhu with the Journey to the West plan, claiming that it was a matter jointly agreed upon by the Western Paradise and the Heavenly Court, and questioned him.

"Are you going to break the contract? Aren't you afraid of the Jade Emperor's wrath?"

Lin Zhu stated that he was merely a passing-by law enforcement officer acting out of interest, and would not overstep the heavenly rules and laws because of the Journey to the West plan.

“Guanyin Bodhisattva, the Journey to the West plan is your business and has nothing to do with me. All I know is that you forcibly entered the territory of the Heavenly Court and tried to provoke hatred between the Heavenly Court and the Western Paradise. This is what you did wrong.”

Guanyin Bodhisattva was furious, but Lin Zhu's words were reasonable and she could not refute them.

In a fit of extreme anger, she had no choice but to bow her head and apologize.

"Lin Yushen, I'm sorry, I was wrong. Please let me go."

Lin Zhu looked at her strangely, unable to believe that she would apologize.

"You...you actually apologized?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva gritted her teeth and repeated herself.

"I'm sorry! I was wrong! Please let me go!"

The city gods standing nearby were secretly pleased to see Guanyin Bodhisattva in such a disheveled state.

They had been badly bullied by Guanyin Bodhisattva, but now that they saw her being subdued by Lin Zhu, their anger subsided considerably.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was anxious; she still needed to frighten Li Shimin and complete the Journey to the West plan.

She decided to endure it for now and find an opportunity to retaliate after the mission was completed.

Lin Zhu saw through Guanyin Bodhisattva's forbearance and said calmly.

“Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, seeing how anxious you are, how about we make a deal? As long as you are willing to sacrifice something, our grievances can be wiped clean.”

Guanyin Bodhisattva understood Lin Zhu's meaning and was so angry that her lungs felt like they were about to explode.

But for the sake of the great cause of the Western Paradise, she had no choice but to submit.

"Okay! I do!"

Lin Zhu pretended to bury Guanyin Bodhisattva, and a group of city gods and local deities rolled up their sleeves, ready to take action.

"Lin Yushen, let's bury her now!"

"Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, you've finally met your match!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva finally yielded and expressed her willingness to hand over the items.

"I...I am willing to hand over the Pure Glass Bottle and the Willow Branch!"

Lin Zhu then let her go. He put away the Sun-Covering Net and said calmly.

"Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, we are all civilized people, let's stop here."

Although Guanyin Bodhisattva was angry, she was helpless.

Just then, Lin Zhu received a system notification.

[Mission accomplished! The spirit of the Wei River Dragon King has been annihilated, and Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, has learned to slay ghosts on his own!]

Lin Zhu was overjoyed. Now that the mission was complete, there was no need to make things difficult for Guanyin Bodhisattva.

He generously removed the net that had been set up around her, letting her go.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was stunned; she couldn't believe that Lin Zhu had really let her go.

"You...you're really letting me go?"

Lin Zhu said calmly.

“Great Bodhisattva Guanyin, I, Lin Zhu, am not the kind of cunning and treacherous villain who cheats and swindles. We are all serving our own masters, so why make things difficult for each other?”

Guanyin Bodhisattva gave Lin Zhu a deep look; she knew that Lin Zhu was humiliating her.

She said nothing more, transformed into a golden ray of light, and flew away.

As she flew away, she left behind a message.

"Lin Zhu! I owe you a favor!" Guanyin Bodhisattva rode away on a cloud, but a mystery lingered in her heart.

She couldn't understand why Lin Zhu had suddenly become so understanding.

Based on past experience, Lin Zhu would definitely seize the opportunity to extort money from her, making her bleed profusely.

This time, however, he not only didn't extort her, but also surprisingly let her go.

Guanyin Bodhisattva even began to doubt her own judgment.

Could it be that Lin Zhu wasn't a bad person? Was he just a law enforcement officer who was dutifully performing his duties?
A blush rose in her heart as she recalled the moment Lin Zhu took her hand; it was a feeling she had never experienced before.

She quickly composed herself and flew towards the palace.

She didn't realize that she was starting to develop Stockholm syndrome.

At the same time, all the city gods looked at Lin Zhu with confusion on their faces.

They felt that Lin Zhu should continue to extort Guanyin Bodhisattva to buy time, so that they could deliver a heavy blow to the Western Paradise.

However, Lin Zhu patted them on the shoulder and said earnestly.

"Be kind. We should be good people and not always think about cheating and swindling."

The city gods looked at each other, not understanding Lin Zhu's "spirit," and silently took their leave.

Lin Zhu narrowed his eyes, a sinister smile creeping onto his lips.

"Guanyin Bodhisattva, you are so naive."

Lin Zhu thought to himself.

"You think I let you go because I'm kind? Ha! I just think you don't have anything of value on you. Besides, the people I really want to extort are the Buddha and Dipankara Buddha. You're not good enough for that."

He shook his head, thinking that if he had made an even more outrageous demand, Guanyin Bodhisattva might have agreed.

But Lin Zhu felt that he was a gentleman and would not do such a thing.

Lin Zhu didn't know how Guanyin Bodhisattva would react if she knew the truth.

He simply felt that he had once again successfully carried out a "sting operation".

From the palace above, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva witnessed everything that was happening below.

She saw everything clearly, from Lin Zhu's appearance to Guanyin Bodhisattva's capture and then to Lin Zhu releasing Guanyin Bodhisattva.

From initial shock to subsequent frantic reaction, and finally to existential doubt, her face is now completely numb.

She looked up to the sky and cried out in despair, asking...

"Why! Why can a mortal emperor beat up a god or demon at the immortal realm? Why?!"

She also complained about why Guanyin Bodhisattva hadn't arrived yet.

"Sister Guanyin! Where are you? If you don't come soon, the spirit of the Dragon King of the Wei River will be gone!"

Just as Samantabhadra Bodhisattva was wailing in despair, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva arrived late. She looked at Samantabhadra Bodhisattva with a puzzled expression, not understanding why she was so listless.

"Junior Sister Puxian, what's wrong with you?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva asked a question.

When Samantabhadra Bodhisattva saw Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, he was startled.

She pointed at Guanyin Bodhisattva and asked in a trembling voice.

"Senior sister, what happened to you? Why do you look so disheveled?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva then realized that she had been injured by Lin Zhu and her magic weapon was damaged, so she did look rather disheveled.

She didn't say much, but simply asked Samantabhadra Bodhisattva what had happened.

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva pointed helplessly at the palace, letting Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva see for herself.

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked down and found that Li Shimin was sleeping soundly, completely unaware of what was happening outside.

Thinking it hadn't started yet, she urged Bodhisattva Samantabhadra to release the spirit of the Dragon King of the Wei River so that she could go and save the Tang Emperor.

"Junior Sister Puxian, hurry! Quickly release the spirit of the Wei River Dragon King so I can go and save the Tang King!"

However, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva told her that everything was over.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was stunned, unable to believe it was true.

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva lamented.

"Senior sister! The Dragon King of the Wei River has surrendered, Yuan Shoucheng is dead, and the Dragon King's spirit that I finally managed to capture was beaten to death by Li Shimin with a brick!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva was shocked; she could not believe what she was hearing.

"How is this possible?!"

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva wept.

"I don't know either! How did things turn out like this? This is completely different from what we planned!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva quickly recovered from her shock and analyzed the situation seriously.

"Junior sister, don't cry. Think about it carefully, why is the Tang King not afraid of ghosts and gods?"

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva wiped away his tears and shook his head.

Guanyin Bodhisattva continued her analysis.

"It is very likely that the Tang Emperor consumed an extremely precious elixir!"

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva instantly came to her senses, shocked by the existence of the Divine Elixir.

"A divine pill?! How is that possible?!"

Guanyin Bodhisattva explained.

"Only the Supreme Sage can refine this kind of elixir. Therefore, this must be the result of the Sage's intervention!"

Upon hearing this, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's expression changed drastically.

They immediately realized that this matter was beyond their control and they had to inform the Buddha as soon as possible.

Guanyin Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva wasted no time and flew directly to the Western Paradise to see the Buddha.

They knew that this matter was beyond their control and that the Buddha had to know the truth.

Lin Zhu sat leisurely on the city wall of Chang'an, his gaze deep, as if he could see through the mysteries of heaven and earth.

Beside him, Cui Gui stood with his hands hanging down, his face deathly pale and his whole body trembling.

Behind him, the Ten Kings of Hell stood respectfully, their faces ashen with fear, not daring to utter a sound.

Cui Gui's originally ferocious blue face was now deathly pale with fright, completely losing the dignity of a judge.

He recalled the foul language Yuan Shoucheng had used to utter after summoning him, which filled him with dread.

The more he thought about it, the more frightened he became, cold sweat poured down his forehead, and he was filled with remorse.

Lin Zhu seemed to sense Cui Gui's nervousness. He turned his head, smiled at Cui Gui, and said gently.

"Judge Cui, don't be nervous, I don't eat people."

Upon hearing this, Cui Gui's face revealed a smile that was more like a grimace.

He secretly thought.

"You don't eat people, but you're more terrifying than anyone else!"

Previously, Cui Gui, acting on Lin Zhu's orders, took Yuan Shoucheng to the eighteenth level of hell.

When the Ten Kings of Hell learned of this, they were also curious. When they heard that Cui Gui had offended Lin Zhu, they dared not be negligent and immediately followed Cui Gui to pay their respects to Lin Zhu.

King Qin Guang trembled with fear as he cautiously looked at Lin Zhu and inquired about Cui Gui's crimes.

"Linlin, the God of Hell, what crime did Cui Gui commit?"

Upon hearing this, Cui Gui was so frightened that he immediately knelt down and begged for mercy while crying.

"Lin Yushen, I know I was wrong! Please spare my life. I am willing to atone for my sins and serve you like a slave!"

Seeing this, none of the Ten Kings of Hell dared to plead for Cui Gui.

They could only stand respectfully, awaiting Lin Zhu's punishment.

Lin Zhu waved his hand and said calmly.

“Cui Gui, although you are guilty, your crime does not warrant death.”

Okay then, you'll redeem yourself through good deeds, and I'll give you a chance.

Upon hearing this, Cui Gui was instantly freed from despair.

He raised his head, a bright smile spreading across his face, and kowtowed repeatedly to Lin Zhu. (End of Chapter)
