Her meticulously combed crown had long since been knocked to the ground, her long black hair was disheveled and stained with dust and golden blood. Her once pure, compassionate and solemn face was now bruised and swollen, with cracked corners of her mouth. Where was the trace of her usual sacred appearance?

However, Chen Xuanzang, who had gone completely mad, ignored her pleas for mercy. His bloodshot eyes were filled with the pleasure of destruction and the madness of revenge. He showed no mercy and instead used even more force because of her painful groans!
In the distance, Lin Zhu, who was eating sunflower seeds, was stunned by this sudden and abrupt change in the scene. He instinctively leaned back, his face filled with big question marks and disbelief.

"I...I'm going?!"

Lin Zhu's lips twitched, and he mentally cursed wildly.

"What... what is this? Is it a street brawl? Or... a domestic violence scene?! No, no, this posture... something just doesn't look right!"

"Why did the seriousness of this battle suddenly slip in such a strange direction?!"

He quickly shook his head to dispel the inappropriate associations in his mind, but his gaze toward the scene was still filled with strangeness and shock.

He clicked his tongue in amazement.

“Good fellow!

This Mortal Berserk Pill... is its effect really that potent? Not only can it allow one to defeat someone of a higher level, but it can also pin a Bodhisattva at the peak of the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm to the ground and beat them up with a tortoise-like punch?!
If this scene got out, the Western Paradise would probably be humiliated and its face rubbed in a cesspool!

The Tang Emperor, standing to the side, was also dumbfounded, forgetting to eat the melon seeds in his hand.

He swallowed hard, carefully tugged at Lin Zhu's sleeve, and asked in a low voice.

"B-Boss, isn't this situation getting a bit out of control? Should we...do something? We can't just watch Xuanzang beat this Guanyin Bodhisattva to death, can we? Although that woman is quite hateful..."

Upon hearing this, Lin Zhu rolled her eyes at the Tang King and replied telepathically.

"Quiet down! If you're going to watch a play, you should be mindful of what you're doing. Don't make a fuss! Can't you see how exciting it is?"

The Tang king was taken aback, thinking that Lin Zhu intended to sit idly by and let the situation worsen, which made him even more anxious.

"But boss, what if..."

"What if what? What if?"

Lin Zhu interrupted him, a playful smile on her face, and leisurely cracked open another sunflower seed.

Why are you panicking?
This is called an internal conflict within the Western Paradise, falling into the category of "fighting among ourselves."

What business is it of ours if they fight amongst themselves? We, the law enforcers of the three realms, also consider costs and benefits when handling cases.

Why would I get involved if there's no benefit to it? Besides, look at Guanyin, does she look like she could be killed so easily?

After Lin Zhu's "guidance," the Tang King looked more closely and indeed discovered some clues.

Although Guanyin Bodhisattva was beaten extremely badly, screaming in agony, and seemingly powerless to fight back, there was still a faint, almost imperceptible layer of glazed light flowing around her, protecting her essence.

Although Chen Xuanzang's seemingly fierce punches tore her skin and damaged her body, they did not seem to truly threaten her life.

Just as Lin Zhu had predicted, Guanyin Bodhisattva was, after all, a powerful being at the peak of the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm, with profound foundations and a formidable physical body.

Chen Xuanzang had only gone berserk for the first time thanks to the power of the elixir. He possessed immense power that was close to that of a quasi-saint, but he had no corresponding combat skills or supernatural abilities. He only knew how to act recklessly.

At this moment, he was able to suppress Guanyin Bodhisattva entirely because of his reckless madness and the natural restraint of demonic energy on Buddhism. In reality, at most, he could only cause Guanyin Bodhisattva's physical body to suffer some "external injuries," which looked terrible, but he was still far from actually killing a Great Luo Golden Immortal.

……

While the absurd scene of "the demonic monk beating up the Bodhisattva" was unfolding at Huasheng Temple, a completely different scene was taking place at the distant Xitian Daleiyin Temple.

Inside the main hall, auspicious light shone everywhere, and auspicious clouds filled the air.

The Buddha sat serenely on a nine-tiered lotus throne, his eyes slightly closed, seemingly listening intently to the teachings of the three thousand Buddhas, five hundred Arhats, eight Vajras, and countless Bodhisattvas below.

Although he had been repeatedly extorted by Lin Zhu and taught a lesson by him at Mount Ling, and even the power of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva in the Netherworld had been severely damaged, the Buddha was quite depressed.

But when he thought that the Water and Land Assembly had been launched and that this crucial step of the transmission of Buddhism to the East and the journey to the West had finally been taken, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and anticipation.

As long as the Journey to the West is successfully completed and Buddhism flourishes, with the blessing of good fortune, the Western Paradise will soon dominate the Three Realms! Compared to that, all the previous losses and humiliations seem worthwhile.

His mood improved slightly, and he felt that everything was finally back on track, which was an important milestone for the Western Paradise to achieve glory.

However, at this solemn and dignified moment of preaching, an extremely faint divine thought, yet filled with intense fear and pain, like a frightened bird, traversed endless space and rushed into the Great Thunderclap Temple, precisely reaching the mind of the Buddha!

The Buddha frowned almost imperceptibly as he quietly received this divine thought.

The next moment, a clear image, condensed from divine sense, appeared in his sea of consciousness like a curtain of water—

The image clearly showed Guanyin Bodhisattva! However, her appearance at this moment was completely different from her usual solemn and compassionate demeanor!
She was lying on her back on the ground, her hair disheveled, her crown nowhere to be seen, and her usually dignified face was now bruised and swollen, with blood at the corner of her mouth, filled with pain and fear!
What's even more astonishing is that she appears to be being beaten, her head forced to sway from side to side, and she is making tearful and painful pleas.

"don't want……!"

"Save me... Buddha, save me...!"

The scene... the sound... was filled with an indescribable impact and... a strange, suggestive quality!
"puff--"

"Uh……"

Among the three thousand Buddhas preaching the Dharma below, some Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with slightly weaker concentration or less pure thoughts were stunned when they saw a trace of image aura accidentally leaking from the Buddha's sea of consciousness. Then, many of them showed extremely strange expressions, and some even subconsciously swallowed and looked around, obviously thinking of something unhealthy.

"Insolence!" The Buddha Tathagata reacted instantly, his old face flushed red, and then a nameless anger surged up. It was unclear whether he was angry at Guanyin Bodhisattva's incompetence or at the wild thoughts of his subordinate Buddhas.

With a sudden wave of his hand, a vast Buddhist power surged forth like a tide, instantly shattering the dissipating aura and the unbearable images in his mind!
"Your minds are not pure, and delusions abound; how can you possibly attain supreme enlightenment?!"

The Buddha's deep voice rebuked him, his voice like thunder, causing the entire Mahavira Hall to vibrate.

The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were so frightened that they immediately lowered their heads, confessed their sins, and dared not think any further.

But after this interruption, the Buddha's mood instantly sank to the bottom!
He realized that Guanyin Bodhisattva had sent out such a panicked cry for help, and that the cry was also tainted with a pure and terrifying demonic energy that even made him feel uneasy!

This clearly means that a tremendous change has occurred at the grand assembly of water and land beings in Jambudvipa! And it is an ominous sign!
“Buddha, but what about Guanyin…”

An ancient Buddha couldn't help but ask, his face filled with worry.

The Buddha's expression was solemn and serene. He did not answer, but instead activated his supreme divine power. His eyes suddenly became incredibly deep, as if they could pierce through the Three Realms and Six Paths, traverse endless void, and gaze towards the direction of Huasheng Temple in Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty—in the Southern Continent.

When his vision, imbued with supreme magical power, pierced through layers of spatial barriers and he finally clearly saw the "live broadcast" taking place in Huasheng Temple Square...

Even with the Buddha's eternally unchanging and undisturbed mind, his pupils constricted and he froze for a moment upon seeing the specific scene!
Behind him, the three thousand Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats who had been watching the Buddha's expression all followed the Buddha's shocked gaze and used their supernatural powers to peer into the distance...

The next second, the entire solemn and majestic Mahavira Hall fell into an extremely eerie, deathly silence!

Every single Buddha and Bodhisattva was frozen in place, their eyes wide and mouths agape, their faces filled with unprecedented shock, bewilderment, and... disbelief!
What did they see? !

That Guanyin Bodhisattva, who is usually dignified, elegant, compassionate, and revered by millions of living beings...

He was being... pinned to the ground and brutally beaten in such an extremely undignified manner?!

The scene transmitted across the endless void, visible through the supernatural power, plunged the entire Great Thunderclap Temple in the Western Paradise into a deathly silence, which was then followed by an uncontrollable uproar and frenzy!

The Buddha and the three thousand Buddhas were all dumbfounded, frozen in place like clay sculptures!

What did they see? !

In the field of vision, a thug whose body was covered with surging demonic energy and whose skin was crawling with hideous dark purple demonic patterns was straddling a woman in white in an extremely undignified and insulting posture!
The thug's eyes were bloodshot and his face was contorted with madness. He was swinging his fists, which were crackling with destructive power, and punching! Then punching! He was slamming them hard into the woman's face! Each punch landed with a dull thud like a drumbeat, interspersed with the woman's painful, weak moans and pleas for mercy!

The scene was extremely brutal, savage, and violent; it was nothing like the tranquility of a Buddhist sanctuary. It was even more hellish than a den of demons!

"That...that's..."

An Arhat stared wide-eyed, his voice trembling, almost unable to believe what he was seeing.

"Guanyin... Guanyin Bodhisattva?! It's Venerable Guanyin!!"

Another Bodhisattva exclaimed in shock, his face filled with utter astonishment and absurdity!
Indeed! When the three thousand Buddhas looked closely, they finally recognized a familiar outline on the face of the white-clad woman who was bruised, swollen, with disheveled hair and in a sorry state—wasn't that Guanyin Bodhisattva, the compassionate and merciful savior of the suffering in the Western Paradise?!
And the demon who is inflicting such cruel torture on the Bodhisattva... what does he look like...?

The Buddha was deeply shaken. A beam of spiritual light, like lightning, struck his sea of consciousness, allowing him to instantly recognize the demon's identity! Although the other party possessed overwhelming demonic energy and a ferocious appearance, the vaguely discernible facial features and that sense of familiarity emanating from the depths of his soul...

"Jin Chanzi?! It's the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi—Chen Xuanzang!!!"

The Buddha could no longer maintain his eternally solemn and majestic appearance. He cried out in utter horror, his voice carrying a change in tone that he himself was unaware of!

"What?! It's Jin Chanzi?!"

“How is this possible?!
Isn't he our chosen one to go on the pilgrimage?!

"The Water and Land Assembly... How could the Water and Land Assembly turn out like this?! Jin Chanzi has been possessed by a demon and is still beating up Guanyin Bodhisattva?!"

"Absurd! This is simply the most absurd farce in the entire Three Realms!!"

The three thousand Buddhas instantly went berserk, feeling as if their worldview had been turned upside down!
They spent countless efforts and planned for millennia to finally promote the eastward transmission of Buddhism. Yet, the chosen pilgrim, destined to retrieve the scriptures, suddenly fell into demonic possession during the most important opening ceremony and even pinned Guanyin Bodhisattva, who had come to enlighten her, to the ground and beat her to death!

What the hell is going on?! This isn't how the script was written!
The Buddha felt a surge of pent-up anger rush to the top of his head, his vision blurred, and his heart was filled with an utterly absurd feeling.

How did Jin Chanzi, whom he had carefully arranged—a virtuous person who had cultivated for ten lifetimes and was the future hope of Buddhism—turn into this demonic monk before him, brimming with demonic energy, filled with malevolence, and raising his fist at the Bodhisattva?!
What exactly went wrong?!

……

Meanwhile, at the Huasheng Temple site.

Lin Zhu, who was leisurely eating melon seeds, suddenly had a feeling. He made a few calculations with his fingers in his sleeve, and a look of understanding flashed in his eyes.

"Hmm... the effects of the medicine are almost worn off."

He looked up and saw that Chen Xuanzang, who was riding on Guanyin Bodhisattva and attacking wildly, was still moving fiercely, but the power of his punches was obviously beginning to weaken. The terrifying demonic energy around him, which reached the heavens and the earth, also began to recede and decline rapidly like a tide.

The Guanyin Bodhisattva, who was pinned beneath him, seemed to sense the weakening of her opponent's strength. Her initial desperate struggles and pleas gradually turned into...

An eerie silence descended, and he even gave up resisting. He simply stared intently at Chen Xuanzang with his swollen, purplish eyes, a suppressed rage brewing deep within them.

Just then, Lin Zhu's mind stirred slightly, and he looked up at the western horizon.

In his perception, a vast and peaceful Buddhist light suddenly shone from the depths of the void, which was beyond the sight of mortals!
Countless golden lotus phantoms bloomed in the clouds, and the grand and solemn chanting seemed to come from beyond the heavens. A vast and majestic will was rapidly descending and locking onto this place!
"Ah……"

Lin Zhu couldn't help but smile, a smile that seemed innocent and harmless but actually carried a hint of calculation, as she muttered to herself.

"My 'meal ticket'... has finally decided to get involved himself?" (End of Chapter)
