Chapter 758 We are all trying our best to live
"Brothers, charge! Kill this alien! Otherwise, Storm One might wipe us all out!" a businessman in a suit roared, grabbing a plastic chair from the entrance of a roadside cafe and slamming it down at the Catan alien. The chair exploded on the Catan's back, scattering fragments everywhere. He didn't forget to turn back and shout to those around him, "Don't just stand there! If we don't get rid of this monster, we'll all be in trouble!"

The Catan alien staggered from the impact, and just as it was about to turn around and retaliate, a middle-aged woman carrying a vegetable basket pounced on it, her hands like iron claws, scratching at its face: "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!!!" Her fingernails scratched its skin, leaving several bloody marks, and the woman cursed: "You've made us so scared, today I'll tear your face apart!"

The Catan alien was in a terrible state; it never imagined it would end up like this. It had come to assassinate Taro, so how did it end up being chased and attacked by a group of ordinary Earthlings?
"Damn it, Storm One! You can buff crowds now, huh?!" it roared internally. These people were just avoiding it like the plague, how come they're suddenly acting like they've been injected with adrenaline, fearless and reckless?

It's no wonder the Catan aliens were so devastated; they simply hadn't expected these people to be so insane. They only knew that Storm One didn't care about hostages and was ruthless, but they never imagined that Storm One's reputation could ignite the hostages' madness and make them attack them.

"No! Calm down!!!" The Catan alien tried to stop the crowd with its roar, but it was met with more fists and flying debris. A young man who looked like a student slammed a skateboard into its leg, causing it to almost fall to its knees in pain.

"Damn it! Don't come any closer!!!" The Catan alien stared at the swarming crowd, its eyes filled with despair. It could handle Kotaro and barely hold its own against Choi, but it was helpless against this group of ordinary people driven by fear and rage. These people didn't care about any rules; they just had a ruthless determination to kill it or they would die, swarming in like a tide, giving it no chance to breathe.

It looked at Cui Ming standing not far away, who still held a shotgun, watching everything with cold eyes, as if enjoying a farce that it had long anticipated. The Catan aliens then realized that Cui Ming had never intended to do anything personally from the beginning; just standing there was enough to turn these Earthlings into the most terrifying weapons out of fear.

Of course, this wasn't Cui Ming's intention. Cui Ming wasn't that ruthless; he simply wanted to teach those around him how to protect themselves.
That's really true, there was no other malicious intent!

Forced into a corner by the crowd, the Catan alien's anger finally overwhelmed its fear. It suddenly arched its back, its sharp claws flashing out from between its fingers, about to strike the commuter at the front—but out of the corner of its eye, it caught sight of Cui Ming moving.

The black figure was walking towards them step by step, the muzzle of a shotgun always pointed at them. Their pace was slow, yet carried an oppressive, overwhelming presence. With each step, the ground seemed to tremble slightly, crushing the Catan aliens' newly mustered courage to fight back.

We can't stop! If we stop, Storm One will turn us into sieves!
The thought had barely crossed its mind when the Catan alien immediately abandoned its attempt to fight back and turned to disappear into the narrow alley. But it hadn't gone two steps when something sticky slammed into the back of its neck—a rotten egg. Egg yolk dripped down its neck, and the stench assaulted its nostrils.

"Where do you think you're going!" The shopkeeper at the alley entrance chased after it, dumbbell in hand, and hurled it at it with all his might when the opportunity arose. The dumbbell grazed the Catan alien's ear, smashed against the wall with a "clang," and broke in two, shards of stone flying all over its face.

What made it even more terrified was that a homeless man on the roadside actually grabbed a rat scurrying around his feet and threw it at it like a pebble. The gray rat squeaked as it arced through the air, slammed into its back with a "thud," and then fell to the ground and ran away in a flash.

The Catan ran and roared, its claws leaving deep scratches on the walls. It could sense Cui Ming's presence not far behind, that cold gaze like a leech, making it too afraid to even turn back. More and more debris filled the alley—rotten vegetable leaves, empty bottles, even half a brick—rained down on it, leaving it covered in wounds.

It couldn't understand why these Earthlings, who were clearly terrified, dared to desperately block its way. It wasn't until it caught a glimpse of Cui Ming reaching the alley entrance and adjusting the sights of his shotgun that the Catan suddenly realized—these people weren't fearless; they were more afraid of "Storm One" standing behind them. They were clearly more afraid of becoming targets "accidentally" caught in the crossfire while Cui Ming was cleaning up the scene than of being killed by the aliens.

"what--!"

A scream escaped its throat as the Catan alien tripped over a flying metal barrel and crashed heavily to the ground. It struggled to get up, only to see countless feet stomping towards it, while the figure at the alley entrance had already raised a shotgun.

It was clear that the people around had gone berserk. They were standing on the back of the Catan alien, punching and kicking it relentlessly, shouting all sorts of angry words.

Just then, Cui Ming, holding a shotgun, said in a low but authoritative voice, "Get out of the way."

The voice sounded like a command. Upon hearing it, everyone around paused abruptly, then scattered to both sides at top speed, instantly creating a passage between the Katan alien and Cui Ming. They knew that if they were even a little slower, they would probably be riddled with bullets along with these aliens! After all, no one wanted to become an "accident" during Storm One's cleanup.

The moment the people around him made way, Cui Ming pulled the trigger without hesitation.

"boom!"

A deafening explosion echoed through the alley. The shotgun's power was astonishing; countless bullets rained down on the Catan alien like a storm. Cui Ming acted so decisively because he knew the aliens possessed the ability to grow to gigantic size. Giving the Catan a chance to recover and allow it to complete its gigantic transformation would have unimaginable consequences. It was imperative to annihilate it completely while it was still in this state.

The Catan let out a scream so shrill it seemed inhuman. Its body trembled violently from the impact of the projectile, countless bloody holes instantly appearing on its body, green blood gushing out and staining the ground beneath it. It twitched a few times, then fell still.

A deathly silence fell over the alley, broken only by the smell of gunpowder from the shotgun blasts and the heavy breathing of the crowd. Those around glanced at the Catalan corpse on the ground, then at the expressionless Cui Ming, and instinctively took a step back, no one daring to utter a sound. The initial ferocity had subsided, leaving only awe and reverence for Cui Ming.

but
Cui Ming did not stop!

Keep firing!
