Chapter 806 Run! Dead Leg!
When life is under immense threat, it unleashes its greatest power to find a way out. Now, Onibamba displayed unprecedented power! No longer caring about maintaining its old woman disguise, its body twisted as it ran, its true blue-faced, fanged nature gradually revealing itself. Its speed suddenly increased several times over, its mind focused on only one thought: Damn it! Run!!!
Meanwhile, Cui Ming watched Onibamba's hasty retreat and said to the eight-foot woman beside him, "Eight-foot, you see, this is an inexperienced guy."
The eight-foot-tall woman nodded slightly: "Yes, running straight away, isn't that letting us confirm our target? But shouldn't we give chase now?"
Choi Myung, who had already set up his sniper rifle, raised his chin and said, "Hmm? Wasn't I already preparing?"
This is the sniper rifle Cui Ming prepared—the Planetary Orbital Cannon! Don't ask why it's called that; in his opinion, a weapon of this caliber used to deal with giant monsters deserves to be called a sniper rifle!
He shouted into the communicator in a deep voice, "Everyone get out of the way! Once this is fired, it won't matter who's in front of us!"
"Aaaaaaahh ...
The Metropolitan Police Department's emergency phone rang suddenly. The operator had barely answered when he heard a panicked voice on the other end: "Hello! Is this the police? There's someone setting up a sniper rifle on the street! It looks terrifying, please send someone over immediately!"
The operator calmly wrote down the address, and before the other party could finish speaking, asked, "Old friend, hold on, what caliber sniper rifle is the other side using? Is it the kind used to deal with big monsters?"
The person on the other end of the phone paused for a moment, then gave the exact location and added, "It looks really big, I think it's called something like a planetary orbital cannon!"
The operator immediately understood, typed a few times in the system, and replied: "Got it, it's Storm One, right? Okay, no need to go, they're on a mission."
After hanging up the phone, the rookie policeman next to him asked curiously, "Senior, why don't you dispatch a police officer just because it's a sniper rifle from a monster?"
“You don’t understand,” the old policeman said slowly, taking a sip of tea. “That’s standard equipment for Storm One. They have to use it every time they deal with a troublesome alien. We wouldn’t be able to help if we went over there, and we’d have to be careful not to get caught in the aftershocks. We might as well just stay here and wait for the mission to be over. Besides, after dealing with Storm One for so many years, he knows what he’s doing and won’t hurt any innocent people.”
The newcomer nodded as if he understood, silently noting in his mind: In the future, when he encounters the combination of "large-caliber sniper rifle + Storm One", he will simply assume it is a mission and will not need to worry about it.
Cui Ming pulled the trigger, and the planetary orbital cannon roared to life, unleashing a blinding beam of light towards Onibamba. However, the Moonkin were incredibly agile; just as the beam struck, they dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack. The beam landed on an open field some distance away, exploding in a blinding flash.
The only saving grace was that, because the crowd had been evacuated long ago, no innocent people were injured. However, the deafening cannon fire and the flashes of the explosions were still frightening enough that many people watching from a distance couldn't help but cover their ears.
The lunar alien Onibamba was now in complete panic, leaping and darting between ruins and buildings, desperately dodging Cui Ming's sniper fire. Each beam that grazed past it sent a chill down its spine, and it screamed, "Are you crazy?! This isn't a sniper rifle! This is a cannon! Are you kidding me?! Using such a powerful weapon against me?!"
It ran and cursed, mentally cursing both the informant and Cui Ming. It had thought it was just a chance to teach humans a lesson, but instead it had run into this killing machine and was being chased and bombarded with cannons. This wasn't causing trouble; it was practically offering itself up to be beaten!
Cui Ming adjusted the cannon's muzzle, watching Onibamba leaping around on the screen, and locked onto the target again with a blank expression: "Run? You won't get away so easily from me." With another roar, a new beam of light chased after the disheveled figure once more.
Cui Ming's pursuit continued, the beam of the planetary orbital cannon relentlessly chasing Onibamba like Jerry chasing cheese.
"Awooo—!" The beam of light grazed its arm and blasted the billboard next to it into pieces. Onibamba let out a miserable howl, and all the fur on its body stood on end!
The premise is that it has fur.
It rushed into the alley in a panic, only to crash headfirst into a wall, instantly raising a large bump on its head. It spun around a couple of times, dizzy, before continuing to run.
Cui Ming adjusted the cannon's muzzle with lightning speed, and the second beam followed immediately into the alley. Onibamba, startled, jerked backward, its body pressed against the wall like a piece of paper. The beam grazed its nose, blasting a trash can at the end of the alley to smithereens. It covered its nose and groaned, and just as it straightened up, it saw the third beam coming. It scrambled up a fire hydrant, but slipped and fell flat on its back with a "thud."
"Help! When will this madman ever stop?!" Onibamba screamed as it scrambled to avoid the blast wave, its armor cracking from the falling debris. It tried to escape onto a rooftop, but a collapsing sign struck it on the back, sending it flying in a grotesque arc before crashing into a pile of rubble.
"Impressive! Not bad footwork!" Cui Ming watched Onibamba dodge left and right amidst the hail of bullets and gave a rare compliment, thinking to himself that this guy was indeed quite capable.
The Lunar alien Onibamba does indeed possess its own methods; it has mastered the ability to teleport. Even in human form, this superpower can still be used normally, allowing it to teleport itself to various locations and move objects to block attacks.
But now, under Cui Ming's relentless pursuit, these abilities are practically useless. Apart from helping her run away frantically, they have no other tricks up her sleeve. Each teleportation only allows her to hold out for a few more seconds before she faces the roar of cannons again.
The Moon-like alien knew it had to find a safe place to hide, or it would be blasted to pieces by that terrifying beam of light sooner or later. It spotted a shop on a street corner, used its last bit of strength to teleport, and "whoosh!" rushed inside.
Here, the flashing neon sign prominently displays the three characters "Host Club." Inside, well-dressed male escorts are chatting and laughing with customers when suddenly an old woman and a disheveled fellow burst in, instantly silencing the noisy scene.
"Oh...Grandma's here too?" A male escort in a sequined shirt was so surprised when he saw the "old lady" suddenly barge in that he almost dropped his wine glass.
The supervisor next to him quickly nudged him with his elbow and whispered, "Shh, remember, we provide emotional value. The customers are all the same age. Just do your job well."
“Indeed… sigh… thank goodness we only sell our skills, not our bodies,” the young male escort muttered under his breath, quickly straightening his collar and flashing a standard smile as he approached. Inwardly, however, he was thinking how the old woman was covered in dust, looking more disheveled than if she'd just run from a battlefield. “Yeah, we have to treat all kinds of guests well,” another male escort chimed in, his eyes lingering on Onibamba.
Meanwhile, Onibamba, the alien from the Moon, still in her human form as an old woman, stood completely stunned in the brightly lit host club. What's going on? Why is this place teeming with flashy-looking men?
It steadied itself, secretly glanced around, and seeing that the store was packed with people, it suddenly breathed a sigh of relief: Well, with so many people, Storm One wouldn't go so far as to bombard this place with that powerful cannon just to kill it, would he? That would definitely hurt innocent people, he shouldn't be that crazy.
Thinking of this, Onibamba deliberately hunched over and walked shakily to an empty seat, trying her best to act like an ordinary old lady passing the time, while praying in her heart that Cui Ming would not come in.
"Shall we go in?" The eight-foot-tall woman asked Cui Ming, looking at the host club with its suggestive lighting.
“Go in, of course we have to go in. But it’s really amazing that an alien has hidden in a host club.” Cui Ming raised an eyebrow, then instructed the eight-foot-tall woman, “I’ll go check it out. You go block the back door and don’t let it get away.”
"Okay." The eight-foot-tall woman responded, and her figure disappeared silently into the alleyway next to her.
Choi Myung straightened his clothes and headed straight for the host club. He pushed open the heavy glass door, and the noisy music and laughter inside stopped for a few seconds.
Upon entering, the male escorts who had been warmly welcoming the guests all froze upon seeing Cui Ming's figure, their smiles freezing on their faces.
"Oh, even Storm One has arrived? This is quite a show of force! Is there some powerful monster hiding in the shop?" The male escorts looked at each other, a chill running down their spines.
The foreman reacted quickly. He stepped forward, trying to appear calm, and respectfully asked Cui Ming, "How can we assist you? Are you investigating any target?" After all, everyone knew that wherever Storm One appeared, nothing good happened, so it was best to cooperate obediently.
"There must have been an old woman who came in. Where is she?" Cui Ming scanned the shop and asked bluntly. The faint but palpable aura emanating from him chilled the air, and the male prostitutes instinctively straightened their backs.
"Um, are you talking about that old lady who's drinking?" The supervisor followed Cui Ming's gaze to the corner, where a hunched-over "old lady" was chugging a bottle of liquor, her face showing no change, and she seemed to be getting more and more excited as she drank.
Then, Onibamba, the Moon-like alien who was drinking heavily, was pointed out so blatantly. Its hand holding the bottle suddenly stopped, and out of the corner of its eye, it caught sight of Cui Ming's expressionless face, almost spitting out the wine in its mouth.
The male escorts had already sensed something was amiss—this old woman, dressed in rags, possessed immense strength, drank alcohol as if it were water, and always had a strange, fishy smell about her; she was anything but normal. Being astute at reading people, the male escorts naturally had their own ways of protecting themselves. Right now, they were taking turns serving and pouring wine for this "old woman," practically bringing out the strongest liquor in the shop.
"Grandma, please drink slowly, this is a toast to you!" A male escort held up a glass with a smile, but in his heart he was thinking: Get her drunk! Get her drunk quickly! No matter what happens later, a drunkard won't be the first target, right?
Another male escort secretly winked at his companion: "Give it your all! Drink more! This could really save a life!" After all, someone who had even Storm One come knocking on their door was definitely not someone they could afford to mess with. They could only hope that the alcohol could temporarily subdue this strange old woman.
Onibamba knew exactly what they were thinking, but he didn't dare to resist. He could only grit his teeth and drink one glass after another, cursing the male escorts in his heart: These bastards! Once I get through this, I'll tear your shop down!
At that moment, Cui Ming was sitting in a booth next to Ruyue Xingren. He snapped his fingers at the head waiter and pointed to the most expensive wines on the wine list, saying, "Open a few of the most expensive ones and have them delivered to that old lady."
The foreman's eyes lit up, and he immediately understood. He patted his chest and assured her, "Let her drink. Just you wait! I guarantee she'll be so drunk she won't wake up tomorrow! Young men, bring the old lady some wine!"
"Oh!!!" The male escorts around him instantly became excited, grabbing several bottles of fancy-packaged foreign liquor and surrounding him. Some were responsible for opening the bottles, some for pouring the liquor, and others were making witty remarks to urge him to drink. Their enthusiasm was even more exaggerated than when they were entertaining VIP customers.
As the Moon-like alien watched as bottles of expensive liquor were pried open, the strong aroma wafting out filled it with unease. It wanted to refuse, but under Cui Ming's ambiguous gaze, it dared not make a move to resist, and could only watch helplessly as the glasses were filled again and again.
"Grandma, look, this is Storm Number One's treat, you have to drink a lot!" A male escort held up a wine glass and handed it to it, his tone full of "good intentions." Onibamba gritted its teeth and took the glass, cursing Cui Ming a thousand times in its heart—this guy didn't want to get it drunk, he wanted to make it drink alcohol poisoning! But now that it was being watched closely, it could only pinch its nose and gulp down glass after glass, its cheeks flushed red from the combined effects of alcohol and frustration.
The main problem is that we really don't dare to start a fight!
It could sense that some kind of ghostly presence was blocking the back door!
Holy crap! Are you guys serious?
Thankfully, I haven't killed anyone yet; Storm One didn't kill me outright.
Wait a minute! He's already used a cannon!
Damn! I'm dizzy! This liquor is really strong!
Cui Ming continued to buy more alcohol and have it delivered, since he had plenty of money.
The host club is incredibly popular today!
Thank you, Grandma! (End of Chapter)
