Hogwarts: Voldemort, don't stop me from studying
Chapter 1015 Interpretation
Chapter 1015 Interpretation
"The second half is somewhat decent, but what was that first part about?" Fred commented, arms crossed. "You must be mistaken. Let me see!"
He snatched the parchment from Ron's hand, glanced at it, and felt his head start to ache.
Those messy circles and lines, even the writer himself probably couldn't recognize them, right? No wonder Ron read them so haltingly just now.
Ron looked at Harry uncertainly and asked, "Am I mistaken?"
Harry hesitated for a moment. Trelawney's prophecy this time was not so easy to understand, and it used some obscure words that were beyond Harry's vocabulary.
So he hesitated and said, "The rest should be about the same... The sentence about 'marriage' at the beginning should be about weaving a web of time?"
He then looked at Wade.
Wade nodded. "That sounds to me too."
Ron scratched his face awkwardly and mumbled, "By the time I got my pen out, she had already finished saying that sentence, and I didn't remember it clearly..."
However, at this moment, people were not too concerned about how he had misremembered—they were more interested in what the prophecy was saying.
“Weaving a web of time,” Hermione frowned, “this could be a causal link between something in the past, present, and future, or…”
She glanced at Wade and said, "Or perhaps someone used time-related magic to create some kind of trap?"
“I think the shadow crawling out of the grave might refer to a vampire?” Padma guessed. “Or some ancient dark creature has been resurrected.”
“Walking in flames…men, someone came to mind.” Michael stroked his chin, then looked at the others: “Do you think of the same thing as me?”
Padma nodded, Fred and George nodded, Padma shivered, and Harry understood what they didn't say—
"Gellert Grindelwald."
He said with a heavy expression.
In the "Masonic Party Daily Life" segment interspersed with background footage, viewers saw Grindelwald stepping over blue flames more than once.
“But golden crayons? How does that word connect with that dark wizard?” Hermione frowned. “Does it imply that he wants to rewrite the world with something made of gold?”
“And ‘scissors cutting off life,’ that’s terrifying.” Theo’s face was pale. “Could many people die?”
“The person standing on the bridge…the autumn of the abyss…the brightly lit porch…” Hermione grasped at the incorrect information and struggled to understand: “What does all this mean?”
She thought about it for a while but still couldn't understand, and said angrily, "No wonder there are so many liars among prophets. If all real prophecies were like this, I'm afraid very few people would be able to understand them!"
“Back to the original difference…” Ryan murmured, pondering the words.
Everyone offered their wild guesses and even started arguing, with no one able to convince anyone else.
Wade sat quietly in his chair, casually toying with a coin in his hand, the light casting dappled shadows on his face.
For Wade, the prophecy was not that difficult to interpret. He also had his own associations based on his own experiences and observations, but he did not intend to say them aloud for the time being.
That sounds too arrogant. And there are parts he hasn't even figured out yet.
After a long discussion, Hermione slammed her hand on the table, and the chatter immediately stopped.
"I believe that regardless of whether this prophecy is true or false, or what it means, it's not something we can guess here!"
Hermione looked up and said confidently, "Perhaps we don't understand simply because we lack the conditions and opportunity to interpret the prophecy; perhaps the prophecy is not actually meant for us..."
"It's like someone telling you that if you encounter a tree that grows upside down, you should turn around. But first, you have to encounter that tree!"
"So the best thing we can do now is to tell Professor Dumbledore."
……
In the hallway, Ron said irritably, "Is Hermione trying to end the discussion because afternoon class is about to start? I feel this prophecy is of great importance; compared to it, a history of magic class is nothing..." Harry sighed, "Don't say anything more. It's already good enough that she agreed to help us get a day off."
Wade asked in surprise, "Why haven't you guys listened to Hermione like this before?"
“You haven’t been hanging out with us much lately, so you wouldn’t know,” Ron said in a low voice, still a little shaken. “OWLs, man! Hermione’s like a balsam fruit now, ready to explode at the slightest touch! Who dares to go against her?”
Harry didn't deny that Hermione had been short-tempered lately, but he was much more objective: "She worries about too many things, so she's very anxious. But even so, she's always kept up with the SSC gatherings and has never missed one."
It was thanks to the dedication of Hermione, Harry, Theo, and others that the SSC group did not fall apart when Wade was unavailable, and the Umbrella House still bears traces of their lives and studies.
Otherwise, Harry couldn't imagine how sad Wade would be when he finally emerged from his self-imposed isolation of "research" and found the Umbrella House covered in dust and his friends had become just ordinary classmates.
……
The headmaster's office was filled with a familiar tranquility. Dumbledore happened to be there and gently invited the three students in, giving each of them some honeydew honey.
“Well,” Dumbledore said, sitting down behind his desk, “I suppose you’ve taken time off to come here because there’s something important that absolutely cannot be delayed that you want to tell me?”
Harry volunteered, "When we were with Professor Trelawney this morning, after our Divination class, she suddenly became very strange... just like I did when I was in my third year."
“We think…she may have made a real prophecy.”
After explaining his purpose, Harry winked at Ron. Ron took out the parchment he had written down (with parts he had revised based on everyone's opinions) and then recited the prophecy fairly fluently.
After a pause, he repeated what everyone had discussed and analyzed.
After listening, Dumbledore did not immediately give the standard interpretation, but said, "Could you show me what you wrote down, Mr. Weasley?"
“Of course, Professor.” Ron quickly handed over the parchment.
Dumbledore looked at it carefully twice, then put his fingertips together, leaned back in his chair, and fell into a brief moment of contemplation.
“Professor,” Harry mustered his courage to ask, “is this prophecy about Voldemort and Grindelwald? What are they planning to do?”
Dumbledore slowly began, “Professor Trelawney does sometimes enter a strange state and utter true prophecies. But to arbitrarily assign prophecies to a person or event in reality is an extremely dangerous and error-prone practice.”
"Climbing out of the grave could refer to the resurrected Voldemort, or it could symbolize death and rebirth."
"Miss Granger's interpretation of the web of time makes a lot of sense. I can only say... there are many possibilities, but we cannot be sure which one is the answer right now."
“While there aren’t many wizards who have mastered advanced fire magic, Grindelwald isn’t the only one… As for ‘creation’ and ‘kingdom,’ they may represent new orders or new ideas, and such symbols are not uncommon.”
"The latter part...sounds like a warning or reminder to someone. When feeling lost, returning to one's true self and retracing one's original intentions is often the best way to find direction and solidify oneself. This is helpful advice for anyone facing major life choices."
Ron couldn't help but feel a little disappointed—he had been hoping to get a direct answer from Dumbledore! Was Dumbledore himself just as vague as they were?
Then Dumbledore sat up straight, looked at the three of them solemnly, and said:
"I must very seriously ask you not to spread the contents of this prophecy carelessly. If a vague prophecy is misinterpreted and exaggerated, it can easily cause unnecessary panic and speculation on campus, or even in a wider area. Can you guarantee that?"
Harry felt a little awkward. He shifted his body, exchanged a glance with Ron, and whispered, "Well... Hermione and the others already know..."
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore smiled and said, "Then please convey my words to all those who know the truth—be careful, don't delve too deeply, and certainly don't spread it, okay? I believe you all understand the importance of secrecy."
“Yes, yes, Professor.” Harry and Ron immediately breathed a sigh of relief and nodded in assurance.
"Alright," Dumbledore said, glancing at the time. "I think your next class is about to begin. Go on, don't be late."
"Wade, stay here for a moment."
